RE: Mato Sherman, M4A1 (76) EL MOD F.O. Pics & Video
Servoblast you said "you don't want to make this public" but you put pricing up as a comparison? Come on! All I am doing it showing the difference so it is more like apples to apples it is a completely different thing what I do, but don't miss represent it! Either you compare the part cost or you compare the assembly, modification ,and upgrades part cost you cannot cross compare, does that make sense? So for EL MOD Full Option IR and a Mato Sherman tank you pay $ 526.00 and you do it yoursefl! = 526.00 Tamiya Sherman Full Option IR = 545.00 Each require hobby radio and receiver! The Blitz

RE: Mato Sherman, M4A1 (76) EL MOD F.O. Pics & Video
ORIGINAL: sevoblast Hmmmm. Quote for $688 for a full boat Mato Sherman with plastic hull and plastic suspension, and without adjustable idlers amongst a few other things. AAF Museum in Danville VA price on the Tamiya Full Option Sherman Kit: $475.
Hey Servoblast! Well lets compare a little,, that quote was for upgraded gearbox,, so add that to the Tamiya Sherman, $ 560.00 plus a smoker unit, $ 585. plus the cost for someone to put it together for you $ 60 plus I think you still need the battle unit $ 70.00final total to make your Tamiya Sherman close to a Mato EL MOD Sherman = $ 690.00 And beyond all that it is EL MOD working brake lights, and multiple the lighting options, realistic drive, proportional sounds, and sound options! And look how good the tank drive with the stock suspension... there is no trick Photography in this video,, most tanks would fall over the ledge where I was driving this tank look at the elevation levels in this video that is all Mato stock suspension! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXSWD5TO4cE If you don't like the desiel engine sounds i will show a video of the it with the Sherman gas engine sounds and louder cannnon, that can all be done by moving a jumper on the blaster III! RE: HL RX18 electronics in Mato Sherman?
ORIGINAL: atkleiv Has anyone tried to switch all of the Mato Sherman Electronics with Heng Long RX18 electronics? Of course the Sherman sound is lost with the HL parts, but does it work good with HL parts in the Mato tanks? (The reason I ask is because I have lot of spare HL el parts..) A.
It should work just fine,, here is a video where I changed it to EL MOD but the basic gearbox is the same design as Heng long. And El MOD uses the same pin out as Heng long for turret funtions, that is why the recoil was so easy to install. Then you just need to rewire the turret funtions and lights to mate with your HL 8 pin connector and you'll have a great running tank! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXSWD5TO4cE The Blitz

RE: Blitzed! Matorro King Tiger
Gotta hit the road today, so I'll be offline! But here are a few pictures that are not olnly teasers but the New 3:1 brass Gearbox from Mato may need some tightening up! Below I show you how the drive axle is loose because not only the last drive gear was loose, but also the coupling that is needed to keep it secure and space correctly to the side brackets! You will need to alig and re-tighten the allen screws and use a tiny bit of CA (super Glue) to keep them tight! Also for Viper he is getting the Tamyia 380's so this front end needs to be secure!
ORIGINAL: Ern Otto... did Phil install the tensioner for you or did you put it in? This project cost a bit more than planned or I would have had him do it for me. If it's not to much of a job I may give it a try down the road. Also, do you think it's worth the cost/does it help much? Phil said the tracks are a bit loose, but when a link was removed they were too tight and to remove one when they stretch out a bit. Phil, your thoughts since you'll probably read this... do I need one?
Crazy busy day,, but I can check in for a little bit! DID you guys know that darn doctor can pin point what your eating just by those darn blood test! Ok back on the strick diet[>:] Hey Ern the tank I have here is Vipers,,, Otto installed the rear tenioners I sell himself I believe? On your tank,, sure it would help,, but I don't want to push it just because I sell them,, you could go a year or 2 with it the way it is setup now! So its really up to you,, all KT's, if they are run a lot meaning a couple times a month,, will probably need them eventually, becuase that is the weakest point of the drive train! I don't have them on mine yet,, but the rear ilder wheels are starting to flex in a little probably just a matter of time before I snap that little plastic axle support back there,, but I have been running my tank hard for a little over a year now!
I don't think so,,Ralph (Ottodiesel ) up above is the only other guy that i have heard try this and he installed an RX-18 board,, these seem to be the same gear ratio as asiatam, and I was able to put the larger motors in their setup,, one side would run the other would not,, and it is right on the edge so even if it ran for a while not sure how long! RE: KV-1 New comparison Video & Upgrades!
ORIGINAL: Panther F Is the EL MOD system still a go for the M16 halftrack Blitz?
The X-22 board will work great for that,, I have my Century 21 M-16 almost ready to go,, but I have too many other projects,, and my first attempt as a custom gearbxo drive shaft lacked torque,, other wise the X-22 is perfect,, brake lights, head lights, you can use a servo to stear the front end and it will drive a single graupnrt 280 motor! Itself its failrly cheap but if you want the Machine gun sounds, motors cannon, if yours has one,, etc you need the Blaster III and currently No battle system for it! But you reminded me,, I have about 4 customers who are willing to pay Thomas to mod it so I will send him an e-mail! Their specific project for the Halftrack has been scapped,, they said not enough interest over there?? RE: Asiatam Gearbox in a Matorro King Tiger
I will have a look at these tomorrow actually and I will have some for sale in house in about 10 days! And it looks like the same small black cap motor that thing does not have enough power with the Matorro boards to run the metal tracks! And the plate looks nice but I think what Ern got with the silver motors is going to have more power! You will be limited with the size of the motors that you can install with that setup! I will test it out though and give honest feedback, and although I do not use metal plates the gearbox is not going anywhere, I have about 20 in the field! Thanks, Ern,, its on its way tomorrow,, I have been checking with the CD guys as well,, I hope they do release the new turret soon! The Blitz

Asiatam Gearbox in a Matorro King Tiger
Hey guys,, This is not just the same ol conversion! I found that you cannot use the Standard Asiatam gearbox setup with the Matorro electronics, and run the Metal upgrade kit! Now you can use the metal HL Pershing gearbox, with standard Matorro electronics and run the Metal upgrade kit! Also to note you cannot use,, the Proportional Smoker unit with the Asiatam gearbox, even with Heng long electronics! Now that is when you are using the standard Asiatam motors,, I have not tried the Prop Smoker unit with any larger motors, but I think because of the gear reduction, that means amp reduction and it will not power the Prop Smoker! That leads me to the other differences with the upgrade,, I installed the new HL Silver motors with the Asiatam gearbox to try and keep the Matorro electronics for the unique sounds,, but the Matorro boards were still not able to turn the tank with them. Also note if you are using the Asiatam gearbox you need the small drive shafts like the sets that you use for the Tiger 1, Stug III, and Panzer III ect.. From the pictures below you can see how tight the gearbox is with the larger motors.. Very close! And the video shows it maneuvering,, I never felt like the tank was laboring or I was even pushing it,, maybe I should have but it does belong to a customer! And thanks for being patient with me letting me take the time to get pictures and video of your tank! Oh and the video has music,, because I was stumbling all over my words you can hear how the tank runs at the end of the video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0xFlmLAIxQ The Blitz
