RE: How to seal a wooden boat? (many pinholes)
ORIGINAL: ears1919 For wooden boat hull, I use drywall mud to fill all dent, scratches, pinholes, etc... Then use epoxy resin w/fiberglass cloth.... Drywall mud soaks up the epoxy resin very well...
I do it the same way, works for me

RE: Cargo ship scratch build
You could use an old cordles drill motor for power, nothing like a free motor. I used them to power my ORCA and SS MINNOW.

RE: Easy Vee Trials
ORIGINAL: stackeddeck Thanks! do you turn the choke?
Pump the primer bulb until fuel goes througe the return line, turn choke to close it pull starter slowley 1-2 times open choke and pull starter. You can choke with your finger,(place finger over carb opening) pull until finger gets wet, remove finger and pull to start.

RE: Easy Vee Trials
ORIGINAL: stackeddeck There are two nipples on the carb. one on the bottom that is the fuel from tank one on the top and then there is one thing with a piece of yellow tubing stuck on it that was there from the factory.. I don't know..
The one with yellow tubing is the choke. Tank has 3 outlets, 1 fuel to carb,2 fuel return top of carb to tank,3 tank vent

RE: Easy Vee Trials
ORIGINAL: stackeddeck Hey guys sorry I opened up a new post but the other one was 8 pages. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9055619/tm.htm Today I filled up the tank and tried to start the engine.. I got it started once but the muffler vibrated off and the engine sucked up a ton of air or something because it wouldn't slow down and kept getting faster. I cut it off and haven't gotten it running yet. It really wants to crank up but just won't... the tygon tubing I have is a little to big for the zenoah nipples. I got some other temporary line that works fine.. I was starting it and realized the vent line came off the engine.. Turns out the black nipple for the vent line on the carb broke.. Flex cable still hasn't come in... New verdict: I'll give everything radio and all 700 bucks. Fuel pump included. lol no joke.
The black fitting on top of the carb IS NOT A VENT, I can send you a replacement part, send me your addy.Larry

RE: Forum Noobie, Electronics Oldie....Wet Exh.
ORIGINAL: mcgyverk Hey guys, WOW fast answers! Ok on the check valve. STEVE: I have not completely made up my mind yet, but this may be a squirt drive setup (jet drive). I guess I need to give you guys more info. This is a Sabre Canard hybrid ( [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/product_guide/boatprofile.cfm?boat_id=204]This Boat[/link] ) that has a total hull length of 72'' ( Yes thats 6 feet. LOL). She has twin inline 33cc gas engines. And since I work in a machine shop with nice equipment I have been toying around with Supercharging them just for kicks.
Not the best choise of hull for a jet drive,Also stick with a (dry pipe)for more power

RE: Forum Noobie, Electronics Oldie....Wet Exh.
ORIGINAL: mcgyverk Ok guys, my first post here. Been reading for a couple of years now, for ideas and inspiration. My question is about wet exhaust systems. Do I need to install some sort of check valve or one-way valve in my exhaust to prevent the water from backing into the engines when I kill her or she dies? I am building my racing boat from scratch and just need some info. Thanks. I will post some pics and plans as soon as I can get a chance.
(NO)
