RE: How do I get My Aeroflt Pro USB dongle replaced?
I was looking at the Aerofly 5 upgrade and I was wondering if there is a way to upgrade to the Game Commander vertion seeing that my dongle has flown the coop. After all the agrivation I have had with using existing radio gear I think its time I give in and use the controler that comes with the simulator. Thank you again for your time.

RE: How do I get My Aeroflt Pro USB dongle replaced?
Hi Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I have had my Aerofly pro much longer than 2 years. I am tempted to go at this dongle with a knife and a volt meter to see where the issue lies. Just in case I fail at resurrecting this gadget what is the outlook at a replacement. It is one of my more expensive pieces of software.

How do I get My Aeroflt Pro USB dongle replaced?
Hello I have had my Aerofly Pro for some time and the USB device has become undependable. If you touch the shrink tube area when you are flying you will lose contact with the controller. There is obviously an open circuit within the shrink tube. I would like to get this item replaced. Any information would be helpful. Thank you for your time.

Hitec's best servo just got better. Based on the powerhouse HS-5955TG servo the HS-7955TG has the added benefit of our G2 second generation programmable digital circuit. This new circuit has twice the resolution of our original circuit while adding programmable overload protection. The HS-7955TG has been designed for the most demanding hobby applications including the largest aircraft and monster trucks. Featuring a titanic 333 oz./in. of torque at 6.0 volts, all this power is harnessed by incorporating the industries first Titanium gears for incredible wear resistance and two strong hardened steel gear pins and axial brass bushing in the servo case. http://www.hitecrcd.com/products/digital/premium-digital/hs-7955tg.html http://www.hitecrcd.com/files/Discontinued_5955TG.pdf Im not Tom But the Information is good. RE: Spectrum 2.4 gig worries
I have flown a DX-7 for 3 years now and I can make it glitch whenever I want. All I have to do is put a under powered servo in a high vibration situation. I dont know if the upgraded RX's cured this or not. I have made sure I upgraded all my servos and no more problem. I had 2 planes do this to me one was mine and one was a friend of mine and in both cases we had a marginal torque value servo in a gas plane. In both cases a servo upgrade cured the glitching.

Yes and then they replaced the engine the new engine only has 3 or 4 flights on it it is waiting for a new air frame.

No Not at all I more than agree with you I worked very hard to make this engine a happy home in my cap. I need to replace the cap at this point or at the very least its wings they are no longer true. The motor will get a new home at some point I am sure. Attached is a photo of the openings before i enlarged the rear opening as well as added baffling around the engine to force the air over the cooling fins.

RE: Evolution 58GX2 ign. LED flashing
Man I havent seen this thread move in a while. I dont see why you cant flip the carb any way you like the pulse feed is from a hose and not from the carb. The flipping of the back cover made the angle of the carb better for fuel flow just be carefull on the chock usage as you may get more gas that you expect. Also on last years post on the end play it progersed till it ran into the case and I sent it in to horizone for a A+ repair free of charge. Them guys teat me very well at Horizon

2.4 antena wiring
Hi I just purchased a new 9303 2.4 system. I already have a 9303 so I knew this was a qualitiy radio. I had heard there was a sevice bulitin on the web about wireing on the aileron potentiometer so I dug it up. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Articles/Article.aspx?ArticleID=1822 Here is my problem. While I was reassembling the radio I noticed the grey wire for the antena was not connected to anything. I dont see how I might have damaged this but for now we will assume I managed to break this off. Can some one take a photo of this connection and post it here. I am sure i replaced this wire on the right componant but when you dealing with large scale aircraft why have any questions left in your mind. I found a round pin on the back of the modual that had a gold spring clip attached to it butt no wire. seemed like a very good place for an antena wire to me. Thank you in advance.

RE: 50cc Sukhette Build Thread, now in progress!!
Hi Ive done the hinge replacement thing a few times. I usually cut all the hinges off with a dremell cutoff wheel and then i just use a drill bit in the dremell. i don't push to hard on the bit and i let the plastic heat up the drill bit follows the plastic and makes a nice whole for me to glue in a new hinge. In the past when i see a hinge worn out i look for other issues causing it like prop balance the need for support wires to aid in the vibrations from the engine and the the #1 cause Ive found is linkage geometry. there has to be a little give someplace. For example here is a linkage that destroyed rudder hinges faster than any other. There was no give at all here when i replaced the solid linkages with wire ones the problem went away.

RE: SPE 40cc
I was planing on buying one of these SPE 43's to put in a 1/3 scale Great Planes Pitts I looked a long time for one of these pitts. Its discontinued so it wasnt easy. I feel this engine will fit in the cowelling without doing to much more cutting of the cowelling. The original owner of this plane had a 160 or 180 glow motor in it. I am a gas guy and i wont buy a large glow motor due to the cost of glow fuel and the amount of flying I like to do. If I understand all this info correctly the US dealer is Cermark? Are all the buggs worked out yet? God knows Ive had my share of buggy motors.

RE: Wh cap
I have a mid wing cap as well ive flown it as a standard cap for a year and as a mid wing cap this year. It is a much easyer plane to land and 3D as a mid wing. As a low wing it had some issues when 100% vertical during 3-D manuvers and the plane tended to loose elevator authority when aproching stall speeds durring landing. Once i went mid wing I was thrilled with the differance.

RE: NEW Top flite 1/7 p-51 mustang ARF
I dont meen to be a stick in the mud here but if i could offer some advice. I have been building one of these with an OS-90 in it. I am about to install the landing gear. First I didnt see a screw in the parts bag i would use. I have found screws that will thread all the way threw the mounting block. I plan to pre drill the wholes and thread the screws all the way threw the mounting blocks. My kit came with the upgrade allready installed so i wont need to add the extra renforcments. Next I plan to soak the mounting blocks in thin CA. and making sure the threaded wholes get a good soaking. Even if you have to redrill and rethread the wholes You will have a solid mount that will breal the screw or rip out the block. I dont want to sound critical of what happened to brockettman's gear but judging by what i see hear the leading edge mounting block has split. I noticed the wood in the front mounting block on my Plane is harder than the rear block. In my opinion the wood split when the screws where installed. I dont recall ever seeing this kind of split unless the part was ripped from the plane and twisted off the gear durring impact. I dont see any split in the rear mounting block. Again in my opinion the wood here is not as hard and is less likly to split (I am not a wood expert ). Im guessing here that the front srews pulled out do to the split and the rear screws did not thus breaking off the rear half the gear housing. Again this is a opinion and I realy dont want to offend anyone here and if i have im sorry. In the defence of brockettman I do feel that the screws supplied with the kit are not upto the task of holding the gear in place so the results most likly would be the same.

I go to a lawn and garden shop and get the little bottles that mix nice in a 2.5 gal can. They always have choices and all of them work well in your weed wacker or your chain saw so how can you go to wrong.

RE: New 53cc engine now available
I soldered a fitting to the vent whole one the diaphram cover. Then I routed the vent to a piece of tubbing I mounted to one of the carb screws. The opening of the vent tube is just on the edge of the carb opening so the air pressure at the carb oppening is the exact same as what the diaphram gets. This modification has made a huge differance in my application. Not perfect but much better. This might be one of Tom's Ideas I know I cant take the credit.
