I would be buying a brand new pro, I think Im going to get the pro st. What are you getting for run time on a battery with 7 cells? What is the capacity of your pack? Is that with a stock motor too?

I searched the toe blocks and I could easily make my own as long as I had the pattern. Tower is selling these things with a Futaba 2PL AM computer radio. Looks pretty good Any opinions on the Duratrax IntelliSpeed 12 turn with reverse? What kind of batteries are you using in the car with stock electronics?

RE: The Evader Coalition - T.E.C.
I am new to the car side of R/C. I have been flying R/C airplanes for the last five years and would like to add a car to the hanger. My questions are: Which is better the Pro BX or Pro ST What are some things to look out for on both pro models(setting up, parts that frequently break, etc.) I dont have any radio equipment for cars or support equipment, so I am thinkin of getting the RTR with the futaba radio is this the best way to go? I am hugely mechanically inclined just want to hear about what you guys have run into. Thanks In advance Brian

RE: Another GP Ultra Sport 40 + built and flown. Take a look.
Well I have gotten some stick time finally. I must say it is a real performer. It does slow rolls so nice, flys inverted great. I still haven't done much more than that. It doesn't seem to have any bad habbits. Doesn't tip stall and flys real nice slow but stay on top of it. Be careful when in a dive, it gets so much speed so fast. I had the elevator flutter on a real high speed dive and it tore up the horizontal stabilizer real bad. I landed without trouble but the stablizer was broke real good. Going the have to build a new stab. I'll keep you posted. Brian

I read about your airplane on that real long thread when everyone just started building them. I must say your looks awsome. I wish someone would post videos of this bird airborn on a site. I'd like to see it pushed to the limits.

Kyosho Cessna 177, Le Mans, 7.2v 6 cells. Ever flown one like this?
I am new to electric birds. Got a few glow airplanes and love to fly. I got this old Kyosho Cessna 177 Cardinal from a friend of mine. It looks like it has a race car motor (kyosho Le Mans) in it with 7.2v 6 cell packs. The whole ship weighs 2 pounds 6 ounces. Came with a hobbico AC/DC charger/discharger. It seems to have enough thrust but not a very long endurance. Have not flown it yet. Has anyone had experience with something like this? Would appreciate any help. Brian

Another GP Ultra Sport 40 + built and flown. Take a look.
Flew my Ultra Sport the other day and wow. It was awsome. Got a Magnum .52 XLS in the nose. Didn't get much of a chance to see what it can do. Had to quit since it was so cold. (30 degrees). Heres some pics. Brian

RE: OS Max engines- the sad demise.
Just took apart my .40 LA. Has only one season of flying on it, maybe 3-4 gallons through it. It flew on a Superstar, I cleaned and oiled it regularly. I can see a yellow spot in the cylinder liner just above the exaust port about as big around as a pencil eraser. This engine was brand new last year!! My brother has a new .61 FX, I have a .32 SX and a .25 LA, I sure wish I would have known about this crap before I bought those engines. No more OS for me.

Dave Brown Mechanical retracts, anyone gotem?
I am thinkin of building an Ultra Sport 40 + tail dragger using Dave Brown main wheel mechanical retracts and a Magnum .52 XLX. Are the struts heavy enough that you aren't bending them all the time? Brian

RE: OS Max engines- the sad demise.
Does anyone know when OS started using nickel in their sleeves? Has anyone ever thought of having the sleeve chromed? Im an aircraft mechanic and we have cylinders chromed all the time. It would probly cost too much especially if you can find parts for other engines like Thunder Tiger, Magnum that are chromed that fit an OS.

RE: GP Mechanical retracts, anyone gotem?
Seems lot of people tourture the gear and have a lot of problems with them bending. The ultra sport will have a short gear like the tracer so I dont think it will be a problem. I am going to be moving soon and will have a hard surface runway when I get there. Im going to look at some other gear Dave Browns perhaps. Thanks guys for your input.

RE: Pics of my first kit. Its a CG Cub Take a look
Weekendflyer the struts are made of wood from rectangular stock that I shapped into struts with a razor planer and sanded smooth. I also used some small wooden dowl for the bracing between the forward and aft stut. This is what they look like. I haven't painted them yet.

RE: Pics of my first kit. Its a CG Cub Take a look
rcdude37 my next project, the ultra sport 40 + is goin to be a great addition to the hanger since I need a larger and nicer sport/pattern flyer. As for the cub I am going to give it to my dad after I fly it. I can't wait to see his reaction when he sees it this christmas. I am also thinkin of building a scratch built older Cessna 150 (strait tail & fastback) foam core wing and fuselage fiberglassed some where between 80-100 inches symetrical foil that I can slit in half for easy transportation. I am going to power it with a homelite 33 cc gas engine. It will look like my life size Cessna 150 in the picture.

goplaneman I dont have the plans for the thing either. Its been a while since I started this project and they got lost after I got the wings and fuselage done. As fas as the servo tray goes I took three pieces of 1/8 inch plywood and used them for the servo tray. take a look at the picture. I glued them to the rails that run longintudnally inside the fuse.

Here it is with all the flying wires on. Engine is almost all ready to go. I need to get a muffler yet. Got the rudder hooked up on a pull-pull sytem also. It really takes the slop out of control surfaces. Some nice shots of the tail.

This is before I got it covered. Build was pretty easy and strait forward. Balsa seemed good quality. The sheeting on the wing root on the bottom near the trailing edge was confusing.
