RE: LiFe battery questions.
Why do some switch/charge units come with three wires anyway??
My guess is for DSC or Direct Servo Control. My Futaba had that feature years ago. Just a guess...

RE: LiFe battery questions.
I believe it was cut the signal wire going to the Rx
The above quote is correct. In other words, whatever you plan to power with the switch whether it be the ignition, or the receiver, you only want two wires with voltage, where the switch would normally have three. So again, power out lead only has two wires. Check the Hangtimes page. It will eventually make sense, but not right off. Keep at it!

I understand that you don't NEED a Cellpro, but i just wanted to make the point that node only charging is much much easier!

Maneuver Caller/Recorder
Not counting another person, is there something out there you guys use on the flight line to call your maneuvers? Years and years ago I had what was called an "Ultra Commander" It was a small sequence recorder that was activated by either a small finger switch that you could velcro to your tray or transmitter, or a foot switch you could place on the ground. I'm hoping that modern technology has just the gizmo I'm lookin for. My ability to memorize lengthy routines went out with my youth [:o]

RE: Ignition cutoff location question
I would think the regulator would go after the cutoff and before the ignition. That's where mine goes to keep the input voltage to the ignition below 6 volts. Hope that helps Bob

RE: Building Boards
I agree that enough is enough. My situation is that I have to build a 73" slab fuselage that's probably an inch wide or so. I just went through a situation where I bought a used profile plane with a similar fuselage that flew like it was looking for a place to crash and it was horrible. I just want to give the new build the best shot I can that's all, without any significant bows in the fuse or wings.

RE: Life Battery Discharge Question
Like Jester said, 2.5v per cell is what the manufacturer recommends, so why go lower?
The voltage of each LiFe cell in the battery pack should not be drawn below 2.5V. Drawing the voltage below this can cause permanent damage to the pack or make the battery non-recognizable by the charger. A 2-cell LiFe battery with a nominal voltage of 6.6V should not be discharged below 5 volts
I too had the magnet system years ago. Still have one of the metal magnet grids, but the board I glued it to isn't true now. What are you doing with your metal grid to keep it straight? Thanks Bob

I could take the carb apart I guess and check for junk. Have multiple filters on the supply line and all. Maybe I just need to live with the sloppy setting this engine needs to stay running and not destroy the plane. Thanks Bob
