RE: Hitec Spectra Module Potential Problem?
Spectra modules must be modified by adding acapacitor & retuning before being used with a Futaba TX. Thiswill provide a better RF link. This work must be done at a private repair shop as Hit or Fut will not do it.

RE: Ace Pulse Commander stick repair
Very nice work, guys, I had good luck repairing mine using a narrow aluminum clamp held with a 0-80 machine screw. It looks a lot like a miniature version of an automotive hose clamp. The job was fiddly work but held well. I posted the pics a while back but can no longer find them; sorry. Bob

RE: Got a Sure Shark to build?
My Sureshark looks so pretty I kept it on display for a year. Finally I got to test fly my Sureshark this morning. It needed 3 clicks of downtrim after hand launch, then flew very well. I will increase the aileron throw as I like my planes a to handle a little more crisply. See pics back in post 291. This plane is a winner. thanks Dave, Bob

RE: Jerry Nelson: PEGASUS & SULTAN designs
Hi Joe, I built Jerry's Pegasus from AM magazine plans about 8 years ago. I still fly it with an old Merco 61. It is a great flier with it's red / white checkered wing. See pics of it at the VRCS site. I hope to take it with me to the Kentucky Blue Grass vintage fly in later this month. All the best, Bob

RE: Ace Aerocommander Shrike questions...
Thanks for posting D & G, This one has been on my must do list for over a year; using two 2217 outrunners Excellent work as usual; you even included a built up wing which is nice. Can any one explain why the original RCM plan had a fuse about 2" longer behind the wing than the ACE kit version. For balance?? For more scale effect?? For weight reasons?? I would like to know. Is the g-rock version longer or shorter. Thanks, Bob

RE: ACE Whizard
A pal n FL has one converted to a twin rotor autogyro. It flies fine, but I think it has a .10 glow engine to compensate for the extra drag of the rotors. Bob

Thanks Andrew, It is not exactly the same plan but a big help anyway. I found out that mine is actually called a"Pollutionless Piglet" and was short kitted in the eastern US about 7 years ago. A friend of mine has one & it flies great. Bob G

Bob HH, Nice work on the Sr. Skylark; looks great. I have the Junior + 10% as a twin electric & am quite happy with it. Went to Dunellon VRCS this AM but little flying due to high wind. I have the mags you are looking for but wont be home til April 1. Email me. Bob G

RE: What is a Jet Gun?
That jet gun was a great idea. As a kid I used a hammer & nail to puncture the cartridge. Didn't get many flights before I ran out of money. No long flights either!

RE: can anyone tell me about this engine????? HP four stroke?
I have the .21 version. Smaller piston. It is a great little engine. It has similar power to a 2 stroke .15 glow engine but turns a 10X3 prop Bags of torque at a low RPM . Enjoy yours. Bob G

RE: Ace Aerocommander Shrike questions...
I have a Goldberg Jr Skylark enlarged 10%. Wingspan 44" It flies very well with a pair of 400XT outrunners from Hobby Lobby. Your Shrike being about 50" Wingspan should do will with something a wee bit larger. I would use two 2217 outrunners, any make. They are about same diameter but have magnets 7mm. (70%) longer.

RE: SEAMASTER Plans?
I built a Seamaster 2 from RCM plans years ago. This 48" WS plane flew fine with a .25 OS engine. The original Seamaster has a 60" wing & a conventional tail. The Ace kit version has a T tail Not the same bird.

RE: Debolt Champ, My Love Affair
Keep at it billmod, My 1st RC was also the 55 Champ. I got it at Fields Hobby Shop in Buffalo in 1967. I probably got one of last old versions as 67 was the year of the 1st update. it flew with 8 channels of a Kraft 12 reed outfit. I like the old one better as well. Bob PS: I tried Kraft reeds again in 2004. I sure flew a lot worse this time around. Proportional really spoiled me. PS.PS: I wrote an extensive comparison of the 3 different versions of DeBolt champs. (55, 67, 80). It is published in the VRCS ''Vintage Flyer''.

RE: Twin .020 Jr Skylark build thread
For what it's worth, I found my Jr. Skylark +20% flies much better after I added a 1/8" thk shim under the trailing edge of the wing. ie. more incidence. It has bags of power flies well at about 2/3 throttle. See post 21 & 22. Bob PS: I flew Jim Quinns model & it flies great. He has BP 21 outrunners or similar.

RE: SPAD Gyrocopter
Villa, I calculated your disc load at 3.5 oz/ sq ft. This is good. Remember, gyros are lazy & slow to respond to stick movements. Think ahead & give slight stick movements, then wait for a response before adding more stick. Never nose abruptly down. This will kill lift and gyro may not recover. Use throttle as your elevator; more to climb & less to descend. Always keep spare blades on hand. Hope this helps. Bob
