RE: Old Rhienbeck Aerodrome on the 8th
That Cessna 140 has to be the best out there. Here's some shots of it rolling out on landing from a couple years ago. Also that was a Skywalker, I made it a point to ask the owner.

Fed the the addiction and went down on Sunday. Perfect wind and weather. Models flew all day til 1:30 when the Rhinebeck Show started. I'll post random shots. Forgive me for the framing, did my best from behind the spectator line.

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII
Jacobs Jasta 7, You might try some Teflon tubing. I puchased some for my DR1 with a YS120 fs and never had a problem. I used a torch to make slight bends where I needed and it held up fine. [link]http://www.centralhobbies.com/Exhaust/header%20tubes.html[/link] Thanks to all on the input on the TBM DVII. A buddys putting the Maxford Spad togherter now and I'll check that out first. I may lean towards the Neiuport, but always enjoyed flying on the dark side.

Thanks for the info Rowdyjoe. I'd be looking to still power it with a four stroke as I have trouble with the sound of two strokes. Was the quality of workmanship on the TBM bipes compairable to Hanger9?

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII
Sbrackets, I would try a 14x5. I have good luck running that on my magnum 70. It will allow the rpm to come up without pulling the plane too fast. Here's a link to a video of mine flying with that combo. [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69x925ZJaqQ&feature=channel[/link]

[quote]ORIGINAL: sparky251 I just spoke with Horizon ,they are shipping me a new cowl today, thats what I call customer support!Heres what my problem is[IMG]http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o236/roberto139/000_0019-2.jpg[/IMG] No matter what I do it just does not fit. Bob [/quote] Don't get your hopes up too much... I had the same situation and they sent me a replacement that was worse. I talked to thier tech people and they said this is the first we've heard of this and advised me to use a heat gun to straighten it. Haven't been back to the build with the flying season underway. The experience left me with the feeling that Hanger 9's QC had gone way downhill from earlier models.

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII
The exhaust is the normal OS silencer with an OS 90 degree elbow mounted to the motor. I got the elbow from a buddy who ordered it from the LHS in the area. Nothing fancy. [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCA99&P=ML[/link]

RE: Hangar 9 Fokker DVII
[image][/image]rodneygt, I don't run a OS91 in mine but have had an os70 and a Magnum70 which was kind of tight. The thing thats tight is the clearance of the valve cover and the exhaust between motormount and cowl cheek. The 70 spinning a 14X5 wood prop has been providing more than enough power for scale flying which this model shines at. At full throttle it flys and looks like modern bipe zipping around and just not right in my opion. I'll attach photos if I can figure out how. Also as an AD note keep an eye on your main cabane struts. With over a 100 plus flights I landed one day to find both the bolt eyelets broken away from struts

RE: help finding a new plane
My vote is for the E-Starter. Bought the one with the 350 motor and flew great on 2s1200 lipos. Was a bit tail heavy and from build treads I've read the ones with 400s are jnose heavy. Good luck in your search.

RE: plz help me with my decision
I had the Parkzone cub as my first plane and found it to be a handfull. I later got the slo-v and was a much nicer trainer, simular to the slow stick. I recomend it to anyone starting out. Have several planes now and still enjoy it. Hope this helps.
