RE: Electric Retracts - Why don't we have them for Turbines?
Yes but there are those who buy air retracts AND THEN send them off for rebuild or buy an aftermarket electric actuator.. Not so uncommon according to what I se in different forums..[8D] //Bokis

RE: ESM FW190 71
I´m a big fan of ROTO,simple to handle and good punch.. I use a 25 in a seafury,ESM Pilatus and a 1/4 Tiger Moth..Have a 35 in a TF Mustang and it´s perfect for that plane.. Been around for 4 years and more than 100 flights..

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence
Ivé just ordered a fan to my Moki from Airworld, the biggest problem is by far cooling on my FW 190,getting the air where it does some good.. With the prop I use,a threeblade scale prop from Biela ,the chanses of getting air in when it stands on the ground is zero, there is no airflow there when I taxi or just run the engine.. And in the air, whit enough "air out" this fan will help a lot to get the air where it´s most needed, around the cylinders.. Thank´s for a great thread about Moki´s , it´s helped me a lot understanding and answer questions I had about the engine.. Kram,You stated that theese engines have been around for a hundred years and thats true but they also had their share of problems.. The "new" FW 190 produced in Germany have problems with cooling so it´s not so simple as one might think...[8|]

I have a short video of the maiden with mine, perhaps it can help you change your mind about keeping it and fly? Its a really sweet flyer.. A friend of mine sold his a couple of years ago,it was also ready to fly and he regrets it now.. //Bokis
ORIGINAL: NUMB LOCK Hi All, Would 14'' props be too big for this plane? Would it hit the fuse on the inner motors? And does it matter if the props overlap from the inner to outer motors? Thanks, Bob I.
it will be problems with ground clearance, even with 13" it´s a great lawnmover.Any particular reason you want to have 14"?

RE: p-51 1/4 scale
ORIGINAL: BobH Doesn't ''look'' heavy? lol that made me laff...
..and it´s not heavy no.. It´s a masterpiece of engineering and the radiator comes from ZDZ..The best part is the starter system,it has a automatic decompression valve like some large chainsaw´s and works very nice along witha a Bendix from a chinese moped and a outrunner motor. //Bokis

p-51 1/4 scale
Hi everybody! Just want to show some pictures from the maker of my Mustang,Mr Johansson here in Sweden and what he is up to in his workshop. He is modifying my Airworld FW 190 and in the process he sent me pictures of two P-51 that he is building for himself.. I love mine, its beautiful and Kent is a wizzard with composite and mechanics.. One is with the same enginge as my Mustang ,a ZDZ 100 twin but this one with electrical onboard starter and the other one is with a modified ZDZ 80 with watercooling system and electric starter (of course![:D]..) The cockpit is bought from Propga (but mounted, weathered and illuminatedd by Kent,a lot of work!) and is in my wiew one of the best I´ve seen.. Hope You will enjoy the pictures!

RE: ASM B-17G Flying Fortress ARF (120
I wrote something about this a couple of pages back that long DC cables are a big NO-NO.. This is why both Ivve with his B17 and me with my Lancaster has the batteries and speedcontrollers up front next to the lipo:s.. I have the A380 from hobbyking and the ESC are next to the Lipos in that one too... Edgar, with the setup we use we havent experienced any problems with heat so far.. //Bokis

RE: ASM B-17G Flying Fortress ARF (120
On my ASM Lancaster that is electric I have mixed rudder with throttles on my 12Z so when I turn for example left the left engines drops in revs, big help to make nice turns without the tail dropping.. Also helps when taking off if I have the wind from one side... I dont think I´ll trust my glow engines enough to do this in the B17 though.. //Bokis

I have a Dreidecker that works fine with wheel landings, different kind of aircraft yes, less wingloading.. RE: Landing
Hi everybody! Some swedish input: the reason I fly my models all the way down is simple:i dont know exactly what speed i have, wind etc so the extra speed gives me a chance to go around if my first approach for some reason seems to go bad, stall the aircraft down, for me is gambling... This thread is interesting, lots of different opininions but nothing I read here so far will change my opinion about this. I have my own small airstrip on my backyard and i have learned to land larger and larger aircrafts there and for me it´s all about the feeling that I´m in control,in the drivers seat so to speak, not just watch the plane come down..It wouldn´t work for me... A video from my backyard with my 1/4 scale mustang, roughly 55 lbs.. This is the way I like to land it if it´s a good day![:D]

Hi Edgar, yes, thats the way we do it,get a pusher Master Airscrew threeblade and jut run the motor backwards. But as I said : its optional and in flight it doesent matter, but when taking of it helps the aircraft go straight.. // Bokis

RE: ASM B-17G Flying Fortress ARF (120
Nice! I dont know if I´m wrong but are you having all four props going the same way? When accelerating, the difference between having 2 contrarotating props or all four going the same way are very much noticable.. Before you get the speed upp where the rudder works(and that is quite fast since the props dont give any air to the fin) it will do a tourqe turn and that dissapears when we used contra rotating props.. Just something to considder.. Still no word about brakes?[:D] I know it is a gamble but getting it to stand still with glowengines on tarmac are close to impossible, any input is appreciated..
