RE: wren supersport
My how we seem to love to deviate from the thread matter. Talking to Paul, they have been able to replicate my problem back at Wren HQ. It seems that on very high temperature days it is possible for the electronics to drift off. This seems to manifest itself in the trottle command giving greater than 100% input. This is then not understood by the ECU which then give the shut down command. This would bare out the facts, as Merryfield was hot and some. Two things to note, me must use the wing bags to shade the electronics in the blazing mid day sun and secondly any funny antics on running, do a re-learn of the trottle first. All things back in the airframe, but next door is not to keen on the noise. Off to the flying site tomorrow morning, so will update after that. settings on the returned ECU Accel delay 012 Deaccel delay 015 Stabalisation delay 050 Pump start Auto+0 Pump ramp 006

Have sent my ECU and pump back to Wren as requested. Hopefully we will be able to resolve the problem. Unfortunately they were at the Paris show, so no action as yet. Will give them a ring today. Shame but have missed 3 glorious weekends so far.

Have contacted Wren UK by e mail and have sent additional info as requested. Still waiting for a reply. Perhaps your Wren USA rep is a little quicker off the mark than ours. Will see. As for driving, in the UK a three hour each way trip is not to be taken lightly on our crowded roads and our fuel prices. Have visited the factory on previous occasion and they have been helpful.

RE: wren supersport
Hi Jason Do you think mine is the same. I have an identical problem, but my motor is only 22 flights and three practice starts since brand new. The motor ran perfect until flight 19, then had 2 dead sticks on the trot. The final flight was very gingerly!! carried out with very careful use of throttle and it kept running. If you slam the stick wide open it just about stays going with the high accel setting shown, but makes that strange noise as the revs slowly rise. Rog K

RE: wren supersport
Hi All I have had 18 successful flights with no problems at all. At Merryfield my SS overfueled on vealously applying full throttle and shut itself down. increased the acceleration delay from 15 to 20 and had two more successfull flights. Last weekend had two more overfueled escapades and was lucky to get away with the dead sticks. Accel now up to 35. If you accelerate to quickly from idle you get that funny roaring noise just before the ECU shuts the turbine down. I too will be speaking to Wren.

RE: Elan Elevator
Hi guys Have check the strength of the stab, put 8411's in and sealed the hinges. Guess what not change. Next is to check the wing incidence and mod the engine mount to give 5 degrees of downthrust as bob cat. Now up to 19 flights thanks to a supurb meeting at Meryfield. Thanks Jamie.

Hi Guys Please do not fall out over this. Have some fresh ideas to try, which was all I needed. Mick is right though, my intro elevator feel was the same either way up. This airframe is definately not.

RE: Elan Elevator
Thanks for your imput guys. Will upgrade the servos and increase the throws slightly. The only problem with that is if you push to hard the airframe will flick out. Luckly it was very high before giving it a try.

Elan Elevator
Have one of Alan's, Elans fitted with a super sport. Had fourteen flights so far. 6 of tarmac and 8 of grass. It flys great but have a problem with the elevator feeling. The inverted bunt is the worst. It is very vague. Have the recommended throws and a pair of DS821's. The C of G is somewhere near, as a minimum of push is required upside down. Anyone else having similar issues and what should the incidence on the rear wing be.

RE: 9303 firmware
As a uk jet flier user the biggest problem with the JR system is your wing man being able to see the minute diplay without first having to find his specs. Really don't care if it bleeps every 6 seconds or every two hours as long as we can see the remaining flight time. Other than this small grumble keep up the good work. Safe Landings RK in UK[:D]
