RE: so ******* mad
I would say that there are two things to think about. 1. Everyone breaks a buttload of parts when they first get into this hobby. After you have been in it for like 5-8 gallons, you learn how to drive and break less. EVERYONE, me included, destroys their first RC and gets pissed off. 2. 1/8 scale buggies are by far the most durable RC's out there. I'd say find one that is reputable and well thought of by local racers and you will find the hobby much more fun. BTW, I am not joking.... 1/8 buggies are WAY more durable than what you have now. Good luck. Hope this helps.

RE: Slipper clutch
I suggest you just race it the way it is now and see how you do. Ask people at the track what they are doing.

RE: Glow plug ??
Is that plug supposed to work in the engine? buy plugs your manual says to use ask people what plugs are for your engine. Is is a turbo engine? Sometimes plugs are duds. It's happened to me a couple times where a plug just didn't work right.

diff fluid question
So, I've changed diff fluid a few times. I got a Hyper 10sc and am putting 5,5,2 in the diffs. I have the 5,5 but don't have any 2,000 fluid at hand. All the diff has in it is that grease that it comes with from the factory. Which leads me to my question. What would the grease be more like... 1,000 fluid or 10,000 fluid? I am trying to decide if I should leave the rear diff with just the grease or put 5 in it, just until I get by the hobby shop and buy the 2.

RE: Buggy Engine and pipe choice
I just ordered a new race engine. I've been running the $150 Nova. It was a great engine. I am waiting for my new Alpha orange head and 0801 pipe to get in the mail. That engine is really blowing up at my track. I only see good things with it. I'll try it and see.

No, it has never stopped in a run. I really need to take a temp gun out next time and test it.

^^ really? I would have thought the opposite. I just race it at my local track, and I am not used to the truck yet, so I am not using WOT that much.

RE: What pinion to use?
It's actually not the motor that felt hot. It's the speed controller. It was hot to my touch. Too hot to keep my finger on it for more than a second or half second. How hot is too hot for the speed control?

What pinion to use?
I have the Hyper 10SC. with the HV4.5 motor. The 14T pinion seems to make it run a little hot. What do you recomend?

RE: Buying my first car. Advice?
I wouldn't buy anything that's not priced at least $280 new. There will be many other things you need too. To get a decent RC with all the stuff you will need to keep it running, expect to spend $400 minimum. The biggest advice I could give is to not let yourself get frustrated early on. It takes a few months to figure it all out and how to fix stuff. Stick with it, once you learn it all, you don't break stuff near as much. But do expect to spend a lot more than you could ever imagine. I started about one year ago with a MGT3.0 Monster truck and now I have a $1200 race buggy and two other $500 machines. I only wanted to buy one.... what happened to me????? I wish someone would tell me how to get control of myself. anyone?

RE: please help me choose a buggy for my 8 years old!
I am a huge nitro guy, but I just bought my 6 year old a Hyper10 SC. Electric is going to be easier for him, and I can turn down the power, so that a full throttle will only go 5 or 10 mph. I can turn it up as he learns. And a HUGE plus to this.... I can race it too. The ony thing I would do different, is let him be more of a part of painting the body. I am buying another body so that he can make it his own. Here's a picture. my kid is going to make a purple body.

If it's a toss up, I would go check out the ebay chop shop and see which has better parts support. That's just me. I can say one thing. I have the Mbx6 and love it.

RE: Whats your setup?Any Pics
^ those things at the top are not what I consider specs. I consider those the things you are running. I run MBX6, DX2.0, Hitec7955 on both steering/throttle. I run 5,7,3 diff oil and 35/30 shock oil. come to my track and let me know, I will xerox a copy of my spec sheet for lyou to have. Too much to list here.

RE: Racing Electric With Nitro
The way I see it. There are true Nitro guys and there are true Electric guys. At my track, the true Nitro guys typically run 1/8 Nitro and 1/10 electric. So Nitro guys CAN do both. But, the true electric guys can only run electric. If anyone wants to be known as the a true all out RC guy, I think they have to win and be successful with both. Those that win only in electric... that doesn't impress me. It takes more skill off the track to win with Nitro. Just my 2 cents.

RE: Best 1/8th Buggy For Racing
And if you are running an electric with a bunch of nitros, expect for a slow marshalling job. Marshals can't hear the electric. Get a Nitro and learn it. When you go to a BIG race, the 1/8 scales are almost all Nitros. I am not dogging electric, I run both. One more thing to notice at a race. Watch the spectaters when nitro is running... they gather to watch.

RE: Best 1/8th Buggy For Racing
The 3 most popular buggies I see at local races are Mugen, Losi, Xray, Hotbodies. And it might be in that order. I run the MBX6 and love it.

RE: tire wear on a race day
I know it depends on a lot of stuff. I was talking, in general, what do you guys get out of a set? I am using the Calibers and squeezed out 5 race days on a set, but most of the Mains were 15 minutes long. They cost WAY too much. I hate buying tires all the time.

If you have three 5 munite qualifiers and one 30 minute main. How many race days do you think you could get out of one set of tires?
