RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
I'm running 2s. No clue what speed. Much faster than velineon on 2s. I'm running a 14 pinion 54 spur. Lower kv and lower gearing if u have heat issues. I can hold my motor after a run so it's just warm

You're gear mesh is off, or you blew out your slipper clutch bearing. Take off the cover and look at the spur and pinion. See if the mesh looks correct, and see it either the spur or pinion have play.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
Nice vid. I cant wait to get it in my 4x4 to try. Im not expecting it to be like my castle 1410, but as long as it outperforms the velineon ill be happy. Selling a Slash 2wd Roller on the BAY if anyone is interested. Its got the STRC LCG kit, and comes with tires. Starts at $89.99 http://www.ebay.com/itm/260999357518?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649 Selling it because between my stock chassis 2wd and my 4x4, I dont run it much.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
I've got the same motor sitting on my table waiting. I plan to use it if I blow a bearing in my castle 1410 and need a quick replacement. I have a Tacon in my 2wd as well which I love and was a budget motor, but they are all out of stock. This g-force should have little more torque since its 4pole.

Double post
ORIGINAL: offthestreet
ORIGINAL: phmaximus
ORIGINAL: offthestreet I have absolutely no idea how to do this.  Again, I am a COMPLETE novice.  I did my best to look over all the moving parts and I noticed and noticed that the rear A-arm, or at least thats what it looks like to me, has a main connecting screw that is very loose and has almost fallen out.  I also noticed that the car turns very sharp right, but does not turn as sharp to the left.  Does it sound like this might be something related to the servo?
Hey thats cool, dont stress... here this link should help... any questions PM me... One question...Where can I get the right tools to work on these trucks?  Every tool I have will fit my actual car, but nothing this small.
I get my tools off ebay, dynamite brand hexs. The most common size on the truck is 2mm, but you will also need a 2.5, and a 1.5. I would pick up two 2mms because I use it so much I wear them out ( I rebuild weekly ) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dynamite-Hex-Driver-2mm-DYN2815-/180804705691?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a18ccdd9b If anyone is looking for a new castle 3800 sct system with MMP ESC and fan, let me know. $175

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
Have you taken off your tires to check out the bearings? you could have something stuck in one wheel that is binding
ORIGINAL: offthestreet
ORIGINAL: DriftingDragon first thing i would say is unscrew the servo horn turn on your truck so that it resets and then reattach it, if that doesnt work make sure none of the parts are broken
I have absolutely no idea how to do this. RE: Turnigy 1/16 buggy unboxing review
So it works fine off the ground, but with a load it will not rev up? Not sure what the deal is but it sounds like an electronic problem.
ORIGINAL: Gandalv ESC-help plz. Today I got 4-5 sec run and then ESC goes into ''voltage protection'' :-s I changed battery and tried holding it off ground and full power was no problem. Sat it down on the ground and after a few sec of run it the ESC gave up again :-( Tried 2cell and 3cell lipo, they all gave same results > :-(. Any ideas what is wrong? RE: Turnigy 1/16 buggy unboxing review
I've been thinking about covering the hole on the bottom. I just need to find something that won't stick too far down. I'm going to check out that bumper kit
ORIGINAL: dudeinmyrtlebeach I found most of what I wanted to have as spares in stock at HK, and the rest I found at getnitroonline.com - got a stock shock tower for $0.91, then ordered an aluminum one for $5 the next day. I also ordered a bumper kit from them, and it was a perfect bolt on fit. As hard as I've run the thing the past couple of days, and with the damage I've already done to the front bumper, I have no doubt that I'd have broken something else without it. I've also started an experiment.. I've backordered the aluminum shocks and hubs from hobbyking. I'm just curious as to how long it will take, or if I ever get them at all. I managed to mangle the spur gear. I've got another on order from gotnitroonline, and 5 on order from HK. Is there any reason at all that I shouldn't fabricate a small cover for the exposed part of the spur gear on the bottom of the buggy? This is where it got mangled - I hit a pile of rocks. Why not just simply cover it up? Nice buggy so far.
RE: Turnigy 1/16 buggy unboxing review
Joe is correct on parts. I've gotten my aluminum from eBay or Asiatees.com. The eBay store was overseas, I think rc mall was the seller. If You haven't put a few holes in your body, that may help cool things down. The body is a tight fit with little room for airflow.
ORIGINAL: dudeinmyrtlebeach Ok, so had a chance to run a couple of batteries through it. No other issues so far. This thing is a lot of fun! No so fast that it gets away from me, but fast enough to keep me on my toes! Definitely going to get a surface TX - probably a FS-GT3B. My DX8 works ok, but it's kind of a pain to deal with, plus I don't want to ruin it with all the dust. Ok, so the esc and motor gets hot after long high speed runs. I'm thinking about either installing a small heatsink fan, a different heatsink with a fan, or maybe just coating the esc with something like Arctic Silver heat sink compound. The thing that worries me about the latter is that if I make the stock heatsink more efficient, I'll melt the body. I'll probably just rig up some kind of small fan. Any advice for the best place to pick up the aluminum upgrades? If I'm looking for aluminum hubs, should I get the ones for the mini-inferno, or are there others that will work? Thanks for any advice you have!
RE: Turnigy 1/16 buggy unboxing review
The only aluminum I am running is the shock towers and the front hubs
ORIGINAL: dudeinmyrtlebeach Just got it put back together last night. Weather is beautiul here today, so I'm headed out to the park as soon as I get done working. After seeing the replacement shock towers, I wish I would have got the aluminum ones. The replacements feel like they're made of cheese. I'm probably going to order some aluminum parts. What should I get besides the shock towers? Given that I'm a car newb, what am I most likely to break first or often, lol?
RE: Turnigy 1/16 buggy unboxing review
Hows it been running now?
ORIGINAL: dudeinmyrtlebeach So, I was puttering around the living room, and ended up breaking the front shock tower. I'm a little disappointed, because what I hit was my granddaughters barbie dollhouse - and it didn't even get a scratch. It's made of cardboard to boot. Found some plastic replacements here in the US for $0.91 - so that ain't bad, lol. I also ordered a front and rear foam bumper kit for like $5. I don't mind busting a few things for what this cost, lol.
