Reciever compatability?
Hi folks, I have several transmitters and recievers. All JR, of course, My question is, is there a matrix or listing available to tell me which recievers are compatable with which transmitter. I already know my Century VII will work with only one reciever and my X347 will only work with its reciever. I have some newer recievers and one newer transmitter.......model 6102. Maybe if i could figure it out, I could trade some stuff?? thanks in advance!! bill

OS 91 Surpass valve keeper?
I just disassembled my 1999-2000 version of the OS 91 Surpass engine that has performed flawlessly!!! i flew it until 2003 and then parked it for family issues. Upon disassemble, i found it has been operating with ONE keeper on the intake valve. I would pay for one keeper and handling if someone has one extra??? i'm not sure what OS has in the way of packages, i just need one....... thanks, bill

the LT series are GREAT trainers!!!! and with a couple of mods, are GREAT fun fly and play around airplanes!!!! by all means, build away and have a great time!!! i flatened the wing some, added aileron, elevator and rudder size and overpowered it a lot......then it became a trainer, funfly and school yard demo machine!!!! i tried to up load a pic, but the file type wasn't supported..... if you'd like to see it, pm me and i'll send a pic.... take care, bill

RE: Scale T-6 and Vultee BT-13.
I really appriciate the replys to this!! I am in the precess of locating the photo. He died in 2003 and we bundled up everything they had and into storage it went. Mom died in 07 and we're now settled with everything and ready to go forward. My dad graduated U of F, aeronautical engineering school. His graduation project was a Formula One racer of the era. he finished in 1948 and they were using the 100 hp continitial at that time, i believe. anyway, that will be the next project to build from his plans and project, to probably third scale. that may take some real digging to find some data on those racers and then try and figure out if he had colors in mind?? right now i have a .91 surpass in the re-build stage so i can get the big bird trainer back in the air for my 10 year old grandson and his other grandpa, to learn r/c..... then the table is clean and i hope to find the photo in the next couple of weeks.......and then there's work to get in the way!!!! I may try and find a used set of plans for the T-6/SNJ and then when the photo is present, i'll scan and post...

RE: Scale T-6 and Vultee BT-13.
Hi rcphotog, I see the difference in the views and i know the plans for the Vultee will not be the same profile as the SNJ. I do not have a great deal of knowledge about these two aircraft, and i only have the one picture to go by. I just need to dig it out of the photo albums we have stored in the house since my dad passed away. It had the plane number and a couple of other details that i can use for the scale version......it was a basic "miltiary issue, one each" aircraft so i should be able to find the rest...the cockpit will be a search, i bet! i imagine there are a few, but i need to find the one that fits...... Also, He graduated aeronautical engineering, University of Florida, 1948. His graduation project was a one off, complete design workup, and he chose a formula I racer for the year 1948. I have the complete package and i'll be doing a quarter, third or half scale of that plane next....the rules back then called for a 100 hp contenitinintal engine....as is today.... its so much fun to build something nobody else has!!!!! thak you for the help and advice you have provided!! take care, bill

I really appricaite your reply, rcphotog!! this is exactly the info i was looking for. I now know i need to find a set of plans for a 72-73 inch T-6/SNJ. like i said, i can mod kits and bash them.....but i want this one to be as close to scale as i can make it. the kits advertise they come with the clark-y airfoil. for both??? i will keep looking for the plans and i do really thank you for the info... and your right....if i use the /vultee plans, i will have a T-6 that looks more like a Vultee.... bill

Scale T-6 and Vultee BT-13.
Hi all, I have acquired two scale builders kits. one is a BT-13 Vultee, 73 inch wing, and the other is a T-6/SNJ. I want to build the SNj version because my dad was an instructor in the Navy, WWII, flying the SNJ. I have one pic of his plane from 1942 and I think i can find the rest of the necessary documentation. I am not new to kit building and can handle this, but the problem is i have the plans for the Vultee, but not the t-6. the kits were put together by "Race Craft, 5232F Shasta Dam Blvd, Project city, Calif, 96079. I have had no luck finding them on the 'net and was wondering if, by chance, one of ya'll here may have the plans and can tell me if there is a significant difference between the two kits, so that i need to keep looking for the plans??? or may i can wing the T-6 from the vultee plans?? Thanks for any help, bill

T-6 and Vultee B-13?
Hi all, I have inherited two kits. one is a T-6 Texan, which I should be able to convert to an SNJ. My dad flew and was an instructor on the Navy SNJ, and I have at least one photograph of the plane he flew. the other kit i have is a BT-13 Vultee. both are by the same folks...... Race Craft, 5232 "F" Shasta Dam Blvd, Project City, Calif 96079. Question is.......i have the plans for the Vultee, but not the t-6/SNJ..........i'm pretty kit sauvy so if i need too, i can use the plans for the T-6/SNJ from the Vultee??? i am looking for very frank and sencere opinions?? thanks, bill

Thanks Brian, great to hear success story's!! they just got it this week and haven't called yet, so i'll now know to ask them about the upgrade to the 783, maybe?? i was hooking up a throttle on the soon to fly Lazy Bee last night. i'm using a hitec sh65 for the throttle and found the Century VII and the newer servo may not work together very well. i have the clevis one hole from the very end and still dont have full arm action to open and fully close the barrel. i'm going to move it out one more hole and then try a standard servo to see if there is a difference in travel?? that was the only function that didn't have travel adjustment....... who knows, but its fun showing up at the field and everybody wants to know where the new radio came from!! hahaha i took it to hobby town in Melbourne last week and the kid behind the counter studied it for a long time and then took pics......said he had never seen a seven channel that wasn't computer operated!! take care, bill

RE: fuel tanks?
Hi Jetpack, thanks for the reply!! he had a triangle tank, flat against the fuselage and top and bottom tapered to the point out. it was the original tank he used last in the mid 70's and i suspect it may be residue?? but not sure. anyway, on his first flying session in 35 years, two other tanks off of fellow circle burners were tried and the Veco allowed a full run. I haven't started building my next C/L, and I usually get SIG and Brodak equipment to work with....... have you or know of someone who has, run one of the new Evolution engines?? LHS down the road has a nice unflown PT-17 profile with a .51 Evolution on it......$60.00

I flew a SIG Fazer for four years.......neatest plane to fly and practice and do my limited version of 3d with.... finanly broke the rudder doing a series of blenders........i did mod the plans by punching hole in the slab fuse and sheeting it with 1/64 ply.......it was straight......and that rudder held for four years!!!!! wore out the carb on a thunder tiger 46 pro!!!!!! take care, bill

my "older" radios
I just sent my 1991 JR X-347 off to the magicians at Horizon. I'm having it re-created into a new 2.4 system. it has served my family very well and looks like it is of the kind of high quality to last another twenty or thirty years....... I also have a minty new condition century VII pattern that i've already sent in some years ago and they checked and ceritfied for flight. My in-law, an Air Force computer and weapons system tech of the 60's looked inside and said the quality was as good or better than the systems he worked on......and i still fly it. just mt experience..... take care, bill[:)]

Hi Mooney, I was hoping i could find something less than an 1/8 inch?? and if not, i'll go get a new band saw blade. I have a huge supply of balsa planks, and most of it a high grade of light weight contest balsa, but i need to make sheets out of a lot of it... the band saw will probably be the best ticket.......a half inch blade and fence will do, i think?? thank you very much!!! i know a bunch in that club and just recently heard they had two new 70 foot circles for C/L!!!! they are having a big bird r/c fly in this weekend and my inlaw and i are going sunday........ I just love any model and FF, C/L, R/C and espically FF indoor are my favorites! woth gas prices hovering about 3.39 + or -... we may look for a piece of real estate a little closer than 24 miles.......he's retired and i am almost, but i work for the county so both of us have to watch our travel budget to get some flying in... i was in Graves hobbies this past wednesday and met a guy that flys C/L just off of 528 and a little west of the Orlando international airport....... dont get there often but my lovely bride was having a heart cath and i zoomed over there while she was snoozing...... again, thank you very much and maybe we can meet and fly one day!!! take care, bill
