RE: let's hear your funny-stupid old sayings
you can pick your friends, you can pick your nose but you can't pick your friends nose (I try 2 pick my wifes, but she don't like it :P) I can't beleive no one said this one yet, my dad always said it to me when I wanted something, you can poop in one hand and wish in another, see which one fills up first...

RE: when do you change the ballbearing?
If your seeing anything leaking or you feel extra slop when checking the bearings you should change them. If you run on sand alot then you might need to, that stuff is killer on parts. Do you race? If so you should change ur bearings often because you never know when .1 of a second will help. But as long as everything is working fine just clean/oil them and have fun. hope this helps

RE: cool traxxas rustler midair flip
This past summer I had my GST down at the park I take my kid to. There is a paved path for bike/walkers and next to the kiddie park it's worn down about 2 inches. I was hitting it and clearning the path, landing on the grass 4 feet away. On my last attempt I went full speed since there where no kids left in the park and I didn't break anything it was worth a try. Just before the launch, the pin for my front break lever fell out and locked up the front tires. The truck did a double front flip over the path and landed on all 4s in the grass right on the other side. There was another dad down there with his kid and he gave me a standing ovation and asked me to do it again[8D] LMAO. on a side note, another day, this one kids dad wanted me to drag his kid around the field, "just let him hold onto the back" is what he said. What's wrong with people?

RE: Muffler bearings problem, please help!!!
When they had the 49 or 59 cents for cheese burgers at McD's I found out the u could only order 20 burgers at one shot. It might have something to do with me and 15+ friends trying to get 5 burgers each every week, all in one shot. The best time i went there for a 20 shot of burgers that was for me and 1 other person. The girls jaw dropped when I told her all 20 where only for the 2 of us.....don't try this you'll crack the porcelain later that day.... taco smell hates me too, I show up 15 mins before they close to try and feed a small army...beer and tacos is a great closeing to the night...also its softer on the porcelain see what u did....now i want taco's...and nachos... NE1 ever try using taco grease to lube up there muffler bearings...someone told me u can get more air, only if u use namebrand though....
ORIGINAL: saucerguy
ORIGINAL: larryf333 I like going to the restaurant and ordering a grilled cheese sandwich, hold the bread. Heehee [:D]
Oooohh, hehe, I can be kind of a stinker in a restaurant. You know when the hostess always asks you how many are in your party, especially when clearly, it's just two people? I've thrown many of them totally off guard when I blurted out 40, lol. They are immediately shocked, lol. My latest one, we ordered something at Mc Donalds drive through, at the end of the order I told them that it was for here. You'll get some funny reactions with that one as well :)
I've done insanely high numbers to the hostesses before. But going to the drive through to eat in is the best idea I've seen in a while! Next time out i'm going to do this one LMAO

RE: clutch bell
I was told since theres 2 gears to use 2 thin strips. I don't do that[:D] I just use 1 piece and run it through both gears at the same time, not folded. I run it through to make sure it's not tearing, check the paper, hope it doesn't move and run it back through and tighten. I only let the paper get about 1/4 inch or less out the other side since the paper will start to bind up from the height change. If u want I'll hunt down the pictures i made for someone else, just let me know.

GST fwd/rev shifting
I just got my tranny back togeather and as was playing around with the forward/reverse lever I noticed that it doesn't always go into drive all the way. Sometimes I had to shift back and forth 3 or 4 times for it to fully engage. I tryed adding a little grease to the shaft but that didn't help one bit. The lever goes just past half and I can make the center diff spin, but it feels like it's slipping. I did do the 3rd gear clutch mod, but I'm not sure the slack it took up should have an effect. Before I start pulling it apart and cutting down a small piece of my mod I wanted to know if anyone has any ideas. thanks for your time [edit] before this mod it did the same thing, just not as much as it does now. It would drop into gear with a slight spin of the gears, or a very small tap of the gas when the truck was running. Now I have to get it to line up before I switch gear direction, over half the time.

Hey CEN...
You guys need to keep a better eye open on your quality control. I had a bad day so I decided it's time to get my truck back togeather and when I opened my center diff and cleaned the grease out I found a problem. On the sides of the inside of the center diff there where 4 pieces of metal stuck to the wall of the small slot down each center of the side walls. I hope I'm the only one that comes across this but I thought other GST owners should know to keep an eye out for this in there diff's. The tooth pick points to the problem area. It's nothing major, but should be taken out.

RE: 2008 bmw x5
With that much power I would put some money into the suspension and trans, drop it the right way to keep your CG down. Have the engine rebuilt with heavy duty internals. Do the whole fuel system and map it. MSD should have coil packs that burn hotter. Get the best tires you can buy on the road. Some slotted and drilled rotors along with some 4 piston calipers. I'm not sure how much the stock insides can take, but I'm almost sure that your pushing it. But with all that your talking some major cash. My brain went dead, I'm missing something. I'm not sure what comes stock with what you got, so you might not need all I said.

RE: 2008 bmw x5
I would start with exuast, intake along with a turbo for power and gas mileage, if you can keep your foot off the gas. I'm not sure what the cost would be. Most likely a arm and a leg, maybe the first born too.

RE: GST 3rd gear clutch mod
I got sick of the search for loose carbon fiber so I went out and bought a cut off wheel that was just over 1mm thick. I was wondering if anyone had any clue what the rpm's of the 3rd gear clutch is through it's range. Does anyone know of any high speed .040 inch or 1mm think cut off wheels or anything build with the woven fiber/carbon fiber resin combo wheels or sheets that can be carefully cut to shape. I'm going with the great dremel cutoff wheel with slow going cuts letting it air cool. Any better ideas would help. It would be great to hear from one of cen's tech guys. But they let anyone use the same name or through out a name of someone who doesn't replay. (don't mean to rag on you guys but it sucks, along with not helping the matter either way) Any help would be great no matter how wacked out or off the wall. Thanks everyone, happy modding[>:]

RE: sleeve from block
I left out the part that counts. I'm scraping the car and since the price drops every day, and aluminum is holding strong, I'm looking to get every penny. I'm also parting out all the good stuff hopeing that will pay for camping this weekend. My idea so far is to cut 3 slits in each sleeve and bang them out, using a wedge or whatever comes to mind from the blood lose[:D] Between the kitten we just got and working on that no room having sharp everything POS I have my hands look sweet, that kitten really kicked my butt. Any other or better ideas are welcome Thanks again

RE: Becoming the most expensive free intrepid...
I think it's $15 per 100lbs around here so if it's a sludge fest I might be going that way. I'm lucky that the car was free, so I don't mind, most likely, wasteing my money if I only have to put out a few hundred to get her going. I didn't like the car when I first got it, now its grown on me, and it fit's my family and all the gear to spend a week in the woods. I'm thinking it's mostly my mom's fault since when she got it, 20k on motor, she wouldn't let me do the upkeep like I do for my own cars along with my friends. I'm just hoping that I can get her running right so I can sell the thing and sadly buy a little ricer untill I can get the cash and buy a 4 door truck. Unless the inside looks great once I get in there, I might keep it and just start saving for something new and just use it as a back up. Only time will tell...

RE: Becoming the most expensive free intrepid...
After weeks and weeks of waiting I finaly have a garage to open my motor up in. But the way my friends room mates are it might be tomorrow or late tonight to start draining and marking wires and what not to get her open. I really don't think it has crap to do with the timing, I'm thinking it's what I first thought and has something to do with the valves. If that's the case, it's going to suck trying to find heads in a junk yard since these cars eat them and people grab them for scrap around here. Hopefully in a few days I'll have a update along with some photos. Wish me luck, I'm REALLY going to need it with this car[8|] LMAO my kitten just bit our dogs tail and when the dog whiped around the kitty went flying 2 feet into the side of the couch!!! Now he's right back after her tail[:)][>:] Have fun people, I'm going to dremel some stuff[:D]
