RE: 42 cc homelite
its now running a homelite 30cc with 14x6 Link this word and every other one like it in our forum to YOUR Website! prop it weighs 27 pounds and is 25x39, it is one of ptr34s hulls that he makes, i think it simpley needs more power, is the 42 even enough power or what would be my best bet for this a cy engine? i Link this word and every other one like it in our forum to YOUR Website! plan on lighting the cage some but its pretty simple not much to take of but if i get a diff engine i will need to almost rebuild the thing any how, thank you for any help Attachments Click to see fullsize image. The output shaft on a chainsaw engine needs a left hand thread for the prop adp. witch is good you can use a Tractor prop instead of a pusher prop. These boats have a 41cc Robin engine on them . they are not chainsaw engines http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujCT5C4KVR8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5rdfEQLDpc&feature=related
RE: help on identifing my engine.
ORIGINAL: rangerfredbob you could use a tight fitting aluminum spacer with a big enough outside diameter to meet the prop, that's about all the hub is for one of those... On the starter, if you have part of a weedeater sitting around, making something like this might be good for ya: I need to get that boat going again, that 4 stroke engine sounded cool... If you put a little blue loctite on the threads before putting the nut on you should be able to start it with a drill and socket though.
ok thank you, i like the starter idea very clever..

RE: help on identifing my engine.
you think i can just make one that will work fine, just didnt want any problems with it because its a standard thread ,and the engine spins counter clock wise i was afrade of it spinning off when starting it with drill, guess could double nut it and grove some washers myself, i found a hub by the way its $25. is it worth the trouble of fussing with it? also it looks beefey because it has a sleave over the shaft in the pic.
