RE: 1/2 Scale RC Fiberglass Beach Buggy
This project is very similar to the one I proposed for my friend and I to work on. But, he would rather use Traxxas, and almost nothing else. I like some Traxxas vehicles too. But trying to start a build like this with him is like wanting to play with your G.I. Joe toys, and your best friend wants to play with his sister's Barbies. lol. Sweet ride. Love the design you worked for the front end. I want to start mine soon. It won't be as precise and complex, but it's gonna be pretty cool.

RE: Newbie....First carSC10 or Blitz?¿
I've been bashin' for the entire time I've been playin' with RC. My advice for a first hobby-grade RC would be something like a Traxxas Slash, Losi xxxt or desert truck, or an old RC10. I also reccomend that you buy a cheap used vehicle, or a used chassis that you can build on. :)

If you're ever up in the air about suspension for large scale, please consider using the rear suspension from a mountain bike.

RE: CIGARS: What do I need to know?
At least a smoker that DOES die from some sort of cancer, or a combination of cancer and something else, chose to smoke and accepted their fate. I have a degenerative dissease that will kill me long before tobacco does. So, just like MOST of the smokers that ever exsisted, are alive now, or ever will be, I die because of something other than cancer. Smoking doesn't automatically mean you're death will come because of it. Most smokers die from heart dissease, and or some other seemingly relatable conditions. These are usually caused by a combination of poor diet, inactivity, and environmental pollutants. Of which tobacco can be one. So can liquor, automobile exhast, marijuanna and other narcotics, legal medications that don't get neutralized or screened out of our water, radon, cat and other animal urine and feces, aquarium chemicals, billiard chalk, paint and everything to clean it up, carpet, household cleaners, flatulance, insects and other vermin, and smoke from volcanos and natural fires. This list is interminably long, and poignant. I've done my homework, without being sucked in by propaganda and slander campaigns. I made my own decisions. Even on that sight, it says it MAY cause certain things, or CAN increase certain risks. Even still, it's not smoking alone that creates these conditions. Maybe you were a smoker, or lost a special smoker in your life? No matter any of that. We're here to talk about CIGARS! I like Cohiba!

RE: CIGARS: What do I need to know?
I smoke stogies, and cigs. And occasionally I even smoke a pipe. I have had no ill effects from smoking, and I have been smoking for 20 years. Some people get sick from smoking, some don't. Nuff said. :)

RE: Rebuilding Tyco cars?
I've had the same issue. I couldn't separate it either, so I improvised... I decided to remove the stock motor, and cut the top of the diff case to accommodate the hobby motor I wanted to use. I haven't finished it yet. (Lol) I'm currently waiting for an esc to run the motor and servo. If I can't find one soon, I might be forced to use the electronics from my Slash "parts-truck". I'm using the motor guard from some random RC truck or buggy to cover and mount the new motor. I found it in my parts bin. I'm using a 540 style motor I salvaged from an old Dirt-Devil rechargeable vacuum. Let me know if you find a way to crack that diff case without breaking it.

Wow, and thanx. I didn't think I'd get such an immediate response to my first post. I will post pics of those pan cars. And yes, Every Tyco and nikko and tonka had glue and pieces of road signs rivetted to them. We get older, and crazier, we care about different things, but we're still the same people. Thanx for the welcome, but, I have a party to attend! Later.....

Hi. I'm new. This is me. And my cars
Hey guys! This is my first post. Please be brutal. I'll give you a little backstory on my experiences. I started in RC at age 11, with toy RCs like Tyco's. When I got tired of bodging or rigging those things back together,I stopped. I started getting back into it about 8 years ago. Since then I've been struggling to keep my hobby afloat. Money is tight everywhere! My most recent project is my XXXNT. Still learning, no fuel, and some missing parts, so it's not running yet. I'll be running in a couple of weeks. By then I'll have the parts I need, and a body. This is my first nitro, so I can't wait! I drove my friend's Revo. It's insane! My truck isn't as nutty, but it'll be fun enough for me. My other vehicles are: Traxxas Slash, 2 RC10s, AE brushless 18b2, Kyosho Ultima, 2 unknown pan cars, and a Tamiya Thunder Dragon QD from 1989. I have alot of learning and catching up to do. But I have alot of experience rigging things to work. ;)
