RE: help identify
little too old for a Twincraft. More than likely it looks like an old Witch Craft out from the Texas or even an early Sightler hull to me. The Twincraft maker (before he sold the rights to the boat) is in our district here on the east coast.

RE: V-hull with 2 motors
here are a couple pics of my Insane Models 47" Mono Twin I use twin 1330KV 600 series Suppo outrunners on 6S2P power. If you look real close at the one coming towards you, you can see the stuffing tubes out the bottom of the hull going to the struts. This is a set up I found that works very nice on Deep V hulls as opposed to total surface drive set ups used for shallower mono hulls. That little black thing on the deck is a micro video recorder. RE: FS TRANSMITTER QUALITY
hey folks; I have been using this radio in my daughters speedmater 21 mono with CMB EVO valvola for a year and it is a GREAT basic radio. It takes any standard analog servo and the recievers are dirt cheap. Very easy to bind to another receiver. if you operate on a 5 cell pack, use a regulator to get a solid 6 volts. Other than that it is good to go. Carl p.s. it does have the futaba tab slots on it as well. and the pins marked VCC are for the power plug.

RE: ROSSI 61 MARINE ENGINE
good luck on that one guy. that motor has not been in production for decades. you might want to google rossi engines and see if there are any importers for teh rossi line and see if the are plane version of the 61 (if that is still being made) will work. if your ring is frozen you might want to dump the motor in ATF to see if that will free it up. yo unever know until yo utry.

RE: Older CMB 65 settings?
first off, are the bearings any good? if not they need to be replaced. that also goes for the rods lower needles bearings. take the motor out of the boat and spray a lot of wd-40 inside the motor, remove the plug and spin the motor over by hand. the bearings (if they are good) should be nice and quiet. if they make a kind of a dryish sound they need to be replaced!!!!! now, on to the initial settings: open the needle valve about 3 1/3 to 4 turns out. (super rich setting) use a K&B 1L or McCoy9 or O'Donnell Blue dot plug. (this all depends on the nitro % yo uare using) the K&B would be a good one to start with. fire up the motor at the LAKE and chuck it in the water. if it stays running (rich setting), bring it back in, shut it down, and then close the needle aprox. 1/8 turn. repeat the start up and run it again. you do this until the motor is running at full song WITH OUT sagging either at full throttle in the straights or in the turns. this is just the basic for starting and tunning the motor. the MAIN thing is to check and make sure the bearings are GOOD!!!!!!! carl cisneros

RE: HB .61 pdp marine
Check out the MACS site and if memory serves, you should be able to use the 90 degree header for the K&B 61 for your motor. (if they do not carry the one for the HB any more) PDP stands for Perry directional Porting. If you look inside the motor with the piston at the full botom position, you should be able to just see little ports right next to the transfer port. Carl

RE: MiniMental is back once more!! Speedmaster .21
being as you are going to use the valvola, start with a pipe length of 8 1/4 to 8 3/8 inches measured alng side the motor starting dead even with the glow plug to teh high point of the plug. head clearance as per the instructions i wrote earlier in this thread. you will need the 18 degree header from Ian Folkson www.iansboats.co.uk start fat on the needle and let the motor slowly break in. put a small wheel collar on the water pipe just above the nipple on the rudder blade. adjust it so that you can just barely blow thru it. the 21's need HEAT to work properly. if there is anything elsee i can help you with, please feel free to write. c.cisneros@comcast.net carl

RE: MiniMental is back once more!! Speedmaster .21
as far as prop selection, go with an octura x-440 3 bladed prop. set teh stinger strut dead even with the bottom of the hull. (neutral. no positive or negative angle) install a 10 ounce tank up front. set you pipe initial measurement (measured along side the motor EVEN with the plug to the high section of the pipe) at 3 1/4" to start at. set your head clearance at .008 inches at top dead center. start with a fattish needle and have fun. this will get you in the ball park for your first few outings with the boat. i have been running one now for 6 years. love it.[:D] carl
