RE: Back into electric...ThunderbirdJunkie's SC10
ORIGINAL: ThunderbirdJunkie Hey, got plenty of bodies painted the same way with Pactra paints that didn't run and covered nicely ;)
I hate Pactra paint [:@] Gives me a massive headache and the fluorescent paint runs and comes out awful, and not very fluorescent. RE: epic motor
For low turn motors I run a Ko VFS-1 variant, so either that, a Tamiya Volac MS or Hara Twister 2.2. These can be picked up cheap off ebay. Matt

From what I can find your speedo has an 18 turn limit, so a 10t would be far too much for it to handle. Matt

RE: Ticket anybody?
ORIGINAL: Foxy Ah I love Greece... I'm not condoning doing this, unless you know the road well, it is empty, and you're a competent driver... but... I 'accidentally' went past a cop doing 200kph (about 125mph) on the freeway a couple of months ago. He just watched me go by. Either he couldn't be bothered to stop me, or he thought he probably wouldn't be able (Greek cops have citroen xsaras which are not quick lol). Anyway, that was the first and last time I did that.
Having visited the Greek Island of Rhodes to visit Grandparents several times, I can confirm Greek Police don't really care about speeding drivers. On several occasions, my Grandad has been driving along doing 150kph in an 80kph zone, only to be overtaken by a police car, which proceded to stop at the supermarket just up the road. Matt

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
ORIGINAL: redfisher1974 Why did you switch the a-arms?
Switching the rear arms gives a longer wheelbase, thus making the car more stable (that's what I found out) and easier to drive. It also kept the wheels on the ground a little better when running a hot motor. Matt

RE: More Speed?
I can second what newto3d said. I run my Nosram Storm Evo (same as the LRP Vector X11) 3.5t motor with a 2s lipo, and the thing will fly. You will need foam tyres though, It will literally rip rubber tyres apart. Matt

RE: Getting ready to go fast!
I'd stay away from big power stuff in a TT01, a 9t Brushless would be plenty. I've used a 3.5t Nosram motor in my TC5, and it's insane!! Great fun in the rain on slicks aswell [:)] Matt

Proline F1 Hawgs
I have a set of these, they've been fitted but are un-run. What are they like, and how much would they be worth if I sold them? Matt

RE: new rc car but which to choose??
Looking at your budget, I'd definitely look at an [link=http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=Manufacturer&ManufacturerID=60&CategoryID=992010&ChassisID=512&ShowCar=1]E-Revo[/link] or a [link=http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=Manufacturer&ManufacturerID=60&CategoryID=992010&ChassisID=511&ShowCar=1]Slash[/link] and some decent radio gear. I personally would find another £29 and get a [link=http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=Manufacturer&ManufacturerID=18&CategoryID=991010&ChassisID=516&ShowCar=1]Savage X 4.6 with reverse[/link]. RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
I'm thinking it'd be faster on 9.6v (9.6x7700=73920rpm unloaded) whereas 7.4v would be less rpm (7.4x7700=56980rpm unloaded), the difference in rpm unloaded is considerable (16940rpm) Matt

RE: Want to get into RC hobby, need some advice!!
I personally would stay away from second-hand nitro's. I have bought 2 (Mugen Prime 12 and T-Maxx) And have had nothing but problems with them. The Mugen came with a broken crankshaft, and because it's an older car I've had to buy a whole new motor. My T-Maxx with a broken bulkhead and the motor need replacing after a couple of runs. Matt

I have the same car, but a different bodyshell (Plasma Edge) And I keep breaking parts for it. I broke the front suspension mount, front gearbox cover, main chassis and one of the upper arm things. I also broke a Yeah Racing ally suspension mount, stay away from Yeah Racing. Matt
