RE: Installation of new C-carriers, Drive cups
i tell you what i love my monsoon! that truck will take a beating! i actually don't break too many parts on it, except for the last run it took a couple weeks ago, my best friend walked in front of it while i had the throttle pegged, and i turned quick and dumped the front right side into a cars tire, and all i broke were the A-arms!

RE: Installation of new C-carriers, Drive cups
Dad's in my opinion i would never use aluminum parts, the just bend, plastic is cheaper, if they break they are cheaper to replace

RE: monsoon xtr
so funny story i finally got my monsoon tuned in again, and i was messing around, and my best friend walked infront of my path and i swearved to avoid him, and hit a parked cars tire with the front right wheel, for as hard as i hit i think the car came out on top, all i broke were the two A arms, ordering them tonight hopefully will be back and going soon!

RE: Replacement wheels
i would not recommend putting aluminum on, it weighs too much, and it will bend instead of crack, i would look for plastic dish wheels similar to what you would find on a monsoon xtr

monsoon xtr
Gentlemen, i normally can figure out what is up with my car or how to fix it myself, but my current issue i am curious if there are any little tricks that can make this easier! I cross threaded the threads on the stud that holds your wheel on, there is a little pin that holds the whole stud on, i can't figure out how to get it out, i really don't wanna have to drill it out, so if anybody has any solutions, help would be greatly appreciated!

RE: Monsoon wheels
the benefit of keeping the dish wheels is they are alot stronger than a rim with cutouts on it!

RE: Several issues with brand new Volcano S30
i plan on sealing all my servo's and battery boxes this spring, i would probably use like a blue rtv gasket sealant(autozone) or possibly a silicone that would set up extremely quick

RE: Several issues with brand new Volcano S30
i wouldn't reccomend going through or near water anyway, you will fry your servos as they are not sealed, and even if the battery box closed tightly it would still seep water cause there is no seal!

RE: Vortex SS gears
i personally believe plastic spurs are the way to go, plastic gives you more tollerance, i put a steel spur in my volcano, and i not only stripped the spur but also the clutchbell, so instead of just 4 dollars for a new spur it cost 40 to replace both spur and clutchbelld

RE: Need help with a Tornado s30!
after you make an adjustment on either of the needles you have to run the car for a couple of minutes to let the changes take effect, i would take both needles back to stock and work from there, remember small movements are key

RE: Tornado S30 VS Shockwave
dont get the shockwave, the tornado is a much better value, it was my first rc, if you respect it, and follow all the break in instructions it will treat you marvelously, like dads said though the two speed tranny is a joke, i just locked mine into first gear, the tornado is also built in a much sturdier fashion, it is an awesome little buggy!

RE: Redcat Volcano S30 dead...
i have had a tornado for over a year now and just bought a monsoon xtr, the only things that have broken are things that i have broken myself! so i personally think instead of sitting on rcu bashing redcats, fix your shit and learn how to take care of it or get out of the hobby, nomatter how expensive your car is you will still break things, its part of coming up in the hobby is breaking stuff and learning how to repair it!

RE: glow plug included with shockwave?
fuel filter is a definite thing you should install, i wouldn't run any of my cars without it, and i would not run 16% the cars are built for 20% like i have said before, if your in the business of saving money your really in the wrong hobby, i run 20% and a medium glow plug in my tornado s30 and volcano s30, and in my monsoon i run 25% with a medium plug in the winter, and a cold plug in the summer

you have to put your finger over the exhuast, and pull a few times, you will see your fuel start moving through the lines

RE: Glow Plug Recommendations? Cold vs. Hot?
i personally run 20% nitro and a medium glow in my tornado s30 and volcano s30 all year round, but in my monsoon xtr i run 25% nitro, and in the summer i run a cold plug, and in the winter i run a medium plug

RE: glow plug included with shockwave?
you can not take the bottom plate off, or you wont be able to adjust anything, i have had a tornado s30 for about a year now and i am still on the original spur, it all depends on how well you set them, like dads said if its too tight it will strip as soon as you give the car any throttle at all, i have a spare for each of my cars, i would not get a steel spur because the dont flex like a plastic one does

RE: glow plug included with shockwave?
both oil types you will find at your LHS, an auto parts store will not carry either of the above mentioned, the air filter oil you put on the foam inserts in your air cleaner, it helps absorb the finer particles of dirt and dust so it doesn't get into your carb, and then into your cylinder, after run oil, is a special oil used to keep your cylinder from rusting, after you are finished running, and your not gonna run it for a couple days, you should take your air cleaner off, then put a drop in your carb, also take your glow plug out and put a drop in the cylinder, then pull the pull start a couple time to lube everything up, and to add on to dads response earlier, a glowplug is similar to the glowplug you would find in a diesel motor, because like deisel a nitro motor fires on compression not ignition, so your normal car that you drive is a gas powered vehicle, it fires from a spark, nitro combusts from compression, make sure you get good quality 20% nitro with a higher oil content, especially for break in your want a higher oil content!

RE: Making your own nitro fuel?
i would not recommend mixing your own nitro, it costs 30 dollars for a gallon of o'donnels 20% depending on were you purchase it and were you are living, a gallon will last you a decent amount of time depending on how often you run it. If your in the business of trying to save money you are going into the wrong hobby, as a beginer your bound to break things constantly, and i would recommend spending the extra 40 dollars and getting the tornado s30, it is of way better build quality, and it has a bigger and better motor, and the tornado has a 2.4ghz radio in it, which is of much better quality than the am one you will recieve with the shockwave

yeah but i think you would be extremely stupid to put a two speed into a volcano, two speeds are no good off road! i am in the process of converting my tornado(2 speed) into a single speed!
