RE: Turnigy Accucel 6 Charger vs Thunder T610 Charger
my power supply is a 1000amp, 1000watt, computer power box. I think that that is enough power for the charger, and yes, i am connecting it to the 12v leads that are suppose to be for graphics card. But i will try connecting to car battery and see if that helps. thx

Turnigy Accucel 6 Charger vs Thunder T610 Charger
I have bought a Accucel 6 charger and i have noticed that it becomes very very very hot charging at over 3 amps. At 6 amps, my room has burning smell and charger is too hot to touch, but is still doing it's job. The Accucel 6 also cannot really discharge at 1.0 amp. i set it at 1 amp and it does only 0.6-0.7 amps. I would not say that this is a very good charger, but is cheap though. I am hoping that keeping the charger charging at low amps, itll last me a few months. it also got noisy cooling fan. I am already looking for replacements and i have decided to probrably buy the Thunder T610 from Hobbypartz . Anyone have the same problems with the accucel 6? Anyone one have thunder T610? does the T610 have any problems? What charger is even better but not expensive like the max amp charge. I will need over 1 amp discharge and over 3 amp charge rate.

Nimh battery overdrain?
I accidentally set the discharge to 1v on my accuel 6 charger. The charger got really hot at first then it stayed that way. Later i realized that the 1v meant discharge the battery to 1v. The charger shows the battery at 5.6v, as a nimh, will it be damaged? or is it still good.

Lipo soldered lead
I soldered a deans lead on my lipo but i realized that the turnigy flightmax 20c 5000mah 2s lipo hass very very thick wires compared to my nimh. My shrink wrap is only 3mm so it will not work. I got a glue gun and kinda covered all the solder wo prevent shorting, looks kinda messy with the glue but i put thicnk layer. Will this effect the high drain ability of the lipo? will it work?

RE: what motor and batteries?
In my opinion, ranking would go like this: 1st=Lipo 2nd=nimh 3=nicd and i do not know of anyone using lead acid in rc. (not that is doesnt exist) Lipos have a lot more power and are probrably good for the 45 inch giant.[8|]

TRAXXAS SPARTAN shipping
I am really looking forward to getting the traxxas spartan in the summer of 2011. I have noticed it has been delayed several times and still has not been released yet. I am wondering what are the issues with that. Also, It is quite expensive, most of the boats at horizon hobby include free ground shipping. Will that free shipping ship to canada? or will i need to pay more for shipping?

Suggestion for first nitro rc boat.
I have no experience with nitro rc boats before. I am looking to buy an rc boat but i do not want to spend a lot of money. Imm looking for a boat with potential to go over 35mph that is under 400 bucks with everything included. (starter, batteries, and everything required to maintain boat.) I have looked at the pro boat blackjack ss, Miss vegas, supervee 27nitro. Any other boats? which one is the best choice? I want one that is easy to use and maintain.

SHOCKWAVE 26 BRUSHLESS BATTERY CHOICE
hi, imm looking to run a turnigy 5000mah 20c 2s lipo on my shockwave 26 brushless. Will 20c be not enough to support the boats amp draw? i heard that it doesnt work on the ul-1 but how about on this boat?

RE: Upgrading shockwave 26 brushless
I might consider the 80 amp hv esc that someone on the review said that he ran 12s lipo with! 12s lipo is amazing on 80 amp esc but i do think that one is slightly more costly. One question, how is the 120 amp esc 49 bucks and the 60 amp esc 56 bucks? doesnt make sense to me.

Imma use the 120 amp esc, will that work? i wanna use ss version of stock prop with 3s lipo and i will look forward to run full throttle for long periods of time. It says to be 49.00$ but imma try the holding on page to reduce price. With 120 amp esc, will it handle 4s lipo? will the motor also handle 4s lipo?

RE: Upgrading shockwave 26 brushless
I have made up my mind. I will use the stainless steel version of the stock prop, i will use stock motor matched with a turnigy 60 amp marine esc that is like 50 something bucks. The esc says to be able to run 6s but i will run 3. Do you guys think that will work? Or something is gonna fry. Looking for over 30 mph. Also, will the 60 amp esc handle 3s lipo? Though it says to handle 6, im not sure if itll even handle 3. If not, ill have to go for 90 amp esc. Im trying to keep all of this low budget. But the esc that is like 49 bucks has bad reviews of leaking. Will this one work? Is this one waterproof? Any of u have experience with these cheap escs?

Upgrading shockwave 26 brushless
Is the motor on the formula fastech and blackjack 26 the same size as the 2900kv motor on the widowmaker and shockwave. Can i equip that on my shockwave brushless? Im looking to use that motor and 3s lipo. I will get a upgrade esc but by any chance, can the stock bl motor run 3s lipo without over heat? Will the parts on the shockwave handle it? Looking for cheap way to do atleast 35 mph. I will get big 3 blade prop too. Looking to get the hobbyking 90 amp high voltage esc that is said to handle 6s lipo, anyone got experience with that one and know how it would perform?

Electric RC boat Building.
I heard that building a boat would be cheaper than buying a rtr. I dont wanna do too much assembly but like buying esc, motor, hull and hardware seperately seems ok. Do anyone know how i can build a fast electric rc boat to go over 50 mph? I wanted traxxas spartan, but if there is a cheaper faster option, that would be great. Catarmans or vees only. I want it to end up under 400 bucks including batteries.

RE: Thunder Cat 31
yes, it was a brand new one. And i think i did not make myself clear. The carb didnt like drop off, the black thing that the servo connects to came off letting all oxygen go in or basically, full throttle or even more than that. the boat has been sitting at hobby shop for a year or so but looks like in good condition. Hobby shop guy tuned it and make sure it was rtr.

Nimh battery problem
My Nimh battery gotwet when my boat sank. I let it dry out for a week and i saw no sign of water. When i started charging it, all was good. I came back an hour later, and i smelled burning. The charger had no smoke but it was too hot to touch! The battery was as hot as ever too, after the charge, my vision peak 2 shows that only 25% capacity was in battery. I charge it again and it got really hot, but then it showed full capacity, next day, showed 25% again. Would my battery be broken? or charger?

RE: Thunder Cat 31
My friend bou7ght a tc 31. It took an hour to start the thing. Near the end of the hour, we started the engine, but one we took off glow igniter, engine stopped. Finally, engine started. We ran it and 1/4 throttle for about 5 min. Going slower than walking speed (guess engine piston was too tight still) then, he revved the engine to full throttle, which was like less than 10 mph :( The prop got loose all of a sudden and engine went so loud due to rpm increase. We stopped the engine, refuled, fixed prop, then went for run again. It was still so slow, it went maybe 3-5 mph faster in the 2nd tank of fuel, then all of a sudden, it went crazy! Im guessing like over 40mph. It just blasted off and my friend had no throttle control. He told my he was still 1/4 throttle, he tried to steer and tried to throttle all the way back to kill the engine. It didnt stop, it went crazy speed and was soooo loud!!! Suddenly it just like died, stopped in middle of lake. We went to get it and when we opened it, there was fuel all over the place under the engine. We noticed that the carburetor freckin fell out of the socket so air rushed into the engine making it go super fast. Im guessing it flooded the engine too. Later on, the fleck shaft lost its tip and started to uncoil, which sucks. Then a set screw broke in half . Id say its a bad boat. the canopy cracked when it came and so on..... i think they use some old parts on the boat. The water outlet came rusted like its been used for years. :(
