RE: Trex 250 owner's lounge
Welp got the head and linkage completely built along with the motor and spur installed and all the servos. Tonight will consist of attaching the tail and the landing gear... There can't be much more after that I hope! I do need to get a ballcup sizer tool though so I can get the tightness outta some of the linkage.

RE: Trex 250 owner's lounge
Hey guys, new TREX 250 owner here! I bought the 250 SE Super Pro at my LHS! I know I could have got it a bit cheaper online, but nothing like the knowledge of a heavily focused heli shop that will help me with every step when it comes to set up! I've owned a few 30 sized helis and could do basic flight/hover with them, but that was 6 years ago.. I'm excited to get back in! I went into my LHS looking to pick up a bunch of hop ups and a complete new engine for my HPI Bajas, (have 2), and ended up walking out with this instead. I can't wait. Going to try to get it built tomorrow.

RE: 5T owners: Body = fustration?
It's all personal taste man, I think the 5T stock body is hideous, and would much rather prefer the Baja Beetle. Looks much more true to scale.

RE: 5T owners: Body = fustration?
Ah ok, didn't realize DDM offered that stuff. I guess my LHS can get them then :) My LHS has a pretty good Baja following and stocks the stuff regularly, so it works out great for me to have a Baja.

RE: 1/5 Scale Race at Motorama in Harrisburg, PA
There is nothing 'close minded' about it. The race is being sponsored by a company that caters to Baja specific vehicles. They are providing the sponsorship to host this race, and being a Baja focused company, that's all they want to run. It's nothing about being close minded, it's catering to who they are trying to get business off of. I understand you are using tires on an FG that are Hostile Hobbies, but those tires from what I gather aren't specifically meant for that vehicle. Hostile is holding another race in June as you have been pointed out on another forum that welcomes ALL 1/5th scale, why not go to that?

RE: 5T owners: Body = fustration?
I'd personally go with the 5B, I'm just not a big fan of the 5T's body and tire style... Honestly if it came with a Baja body I would have got it, but the extra cost just to go that route is what turned me away. They are the same basic vehicle with minor differences, get which ever you like better in the end, not what others suggest. Neither are going to have issues running over anything with there size compared to the Savages we've owned, which were still better than most things :)

RE: THE Official HPI Savage Flux-HP Thread
Somebody on another forum spent the time to talk about that issue, and it IS infact stealing. Face it, most people aren't having issues with the diffs, but people tend to get vocal about it if they do. It goes with the saying, if you have great service at a restraunt, chances are 5 ppl will hear about it. If you have bad service, 20 will. He was having 0 issues with his Diffs and most likely wouldn't have any for a long time. Things wear out overtime also, you think you should get a free part just because it wore out? MAN would racing be so much cheaper if that was the case. He took advantage of HPI and he knows it, plain and simple. HPI knows it now as well, and are doing their own thing about it.

RCTech is just one site getting sick of his consistent jabbering. He doesn't know anything of what he claims, and basically copy/pastes garbage that he reads or presents mass amounts of spam instead of helping people. Now he's taking advantage of HPI showing others how to do it, which is beyond absurd. The only time he posts on other sites it seems is when he wants to brag about his STOCK truck. Yah, those TVPS you bought aren't anything but STOCK. And yes I'm a Savage owner, I've witnessed some of the mess he's posted, and witnessed it get deleted. HPISavageForum.com is another site he's been trying to spam, but it got quickly deleted by the owners. Side Note: Man Freeze, you are getting shunned from every forum you are on doing this crap. You've basically put yourself in the classification of 'scammer'. GOOD JOB

You are acting as if where you live is the definitive way to live. Unfortunately for you, your way will get you shunned in many many parts around the world if you didn't tip.

Being a chef, trying to give me the tale of small wages for work means little to me, that's the life of a cook. The Food Network makes it look a lot more glamorous.

RE: What is your view on restaurant tipping?
As a chef, I notice most ppl can't differentiate good service from good food. Most people think, "Wow, this food was horrible, I'm not going to leave a good tip!" when it is completely out of the server's hand. If one of my employees sends out subpar food, we know, and they are strictly punished. When I go out, and this happens to me (unfortunately it happens more than ppl think, being a chef I just realize it more >:( ), my tip is decided by how the server handles the situation. Kinda OT but whatev lol. Oh, I always tip 20%+ if service was above expectation. As for the fool who said, "they get paid to do their job, why should I tip?" Because they make 3.65 an hour. When you go out to eat, you should be factoring in 20% for tip onto what your final bill is expected to be. Don't go out, have an elaborate 300-400$ meal, then think 20$ is enough.

Actually budbud, I just loosen a few bolts in the area I need to 'shortcut' and it works fine, pull the TVP back a bit and you can slide in/out everything. Sent you a PM also BudBud.

RE: got a nice savage! need help on which upgrades to buy
My first upgrade would be TVPS to give the savage more size, then offset rims/tires. The bigger the better right? :) Check out Fast Lane Machines extended LCG TVPs, by far the most popular aftermarket TVP out right now, and CHEAP!

My Savage project almost complete!
Jus wanted to share pics of my savage progress. Started out as a stock Savage 4.6X with Aluminum HPI shocks, 3 speed, rpm arms, and that's about it. I've been collecting pieces for a few months, and my savage has been sitting in pieces for most of that time with my CRT .5 getting all the attention, so I finally busted out the tools and started. Now it's this. LST Shocks with yellow Springs JR DS8711 Steering Servo Futaba 9451 Throttle Servo Axial .28 (wish I would have done more reading before purchasing this, as I didn't know it's basically a stock k4.6 replacement) 3 speed (will keep in while I still have the Axial .28) FLM Extended LCG chassis FLM Servo Plate FLM side throttle servo mount FLM Motor Plate OFNA Offset Rims HPI Dirtbonz ( I don't like big tires, Low Pro and pins for me) CEN Reciever box, modified to fit my Steering Servo, Reciever pack, and Reciever. OFNA 125cc tank for midtank mod Robinson Racing Spur/CB and aluminum 3 shoe clutch Ofna Throttle mods will be installed. Getting anxious to drive this thing, but I'm still waiting on my tank from Tower Hobbies, ugh their shipping can be so slow sometimes, should have got it from Amain. If this tank doesn't work though, I'll try the Mugen 125cc and 150cc truggy tanks and see which fits better with the limited room available in the front. I still need to get an FLM Motor Mount, but that's all I can really think of to upgrade that's left. My plans are to eventually buy a Picco .28 or an LRP .30. I'm leaning more towards the LRP even though from what i've read it's a bit slower, mainly because I don't want to remove the 3 speed. I also don't run big tires so I don't think I'll have any issue with my drivetrain getting wrecked. Sorry the pics are so big, don't know how to resize. RE: What did you do to your Savage today?
Tuned my new Savage X today that I received in a trade for an electric roller. One new glow plug, 2 hours of tuning, and absolutely no help from HPI's website or the Savage manual I found got it running and had a blast. Wheelies on command, great run times, idles fine. Going to do some more driving tomorrow! Need to buy a new servo for the steering, installing my 9451 for throttle and REAL radio gear tomorrow, then driving some more! Once I get my Revo (just got it also) rebuilt and broken in it'll be nice to see how they compare.

First Savage :) Upgrade questions
Well I remember when the first Savage was released a long time ago, and I finally own my first Savage. Now, I understand people have a big agenda against certain parts being aluminum, but I don't know what on a Savage should be aluminum if anything. I do like bling though, so does ANYBODY know where to get Carbon Fiber TVP plates and Carbon Fiber Shock Towers? I LOVE the look of Carbon, so thats why I want to know. Any other upgrades though that are needed please don't hesitate to tell me :) Currently have: Savage X 4.6 Aluminum Threaded Shocks Steel Spurgear 3 speed Aluminum Clutch Shoes Tuned 1 piece pipe Hardened driveshafts LMK, my main concern is the Carbon stuff though, haha

RE: Savage Flux vs. E-Revo brushless
[quote]ORIGINAL: t9dragon The Savage Flux is based off of one of the greatest bashing MT's on the market. The E-Revo is based off of a racing MT. So decided for yourself and get what you want. You will not be disappointed with whichever one you chose. One thing I do find interesting is that Traxxas decided to go with the Mamba Monster as the ESC for the Revo instead of designing their own like they did with the VXL systems.
