RE: Inboard starting belt options (who makes one that can handle power)
Go to a local automotive store and get a Gates 2L series..several different lengths and will probably have to order but I got mine from Oreillys and work great on my .45 and my CMB .90

RE: Thundercat 31 new motor prop size?
I have a Axe/Rossi .45 in mine..a Prather 230 puts me at bout 45...I am running a self modded 245 now puttn me at 55-57...a 240 might work well..if it loads up a lil might try a small barr cut..have a x455 modded I haven't tried yet..because of the filler they use where the stuffing tube comes out of the bottom it limits you on strut height...I cut mine out and reglassecd to give me a lil more..here's a vid with the 245 on it..a lil windy that day and sucks with out a camera man

RE: Thunder Cat 31
Did get the bottom scuffed up a little, all the flotation I could crammed into every hole possible and glued some on canopy, lines zip-tied,pulled everything out and put back with loc-tite,made new gasket for box..jus goin through all the chit.Should have my fail safe today, then pretune(with constant cool water from well running through head)then head for the water to do a few test runs.Center of prop level with lowest part of the boat to start out with.

RE: Thunder Cat 31
Did shorten pipe some as I also thought was a bit long.Installed pressure nipple at the"fat"of the pipe, installed fuel filter and filter on pressure line to prevent crap in the tank.Did fire it(with water running through the head,SOUNDS GREAT!!! This .45 has some gump!!! Gonna try a quick run Sat...next ?????? Should I tilt the strut down a tad since the pipe sits so high to balance getting on plane, keepin the nose down a bit??

RE: Thunder Cat 31
Need some input...ok.. bought a TC that had been customized, never been in water, inside has been epoxy reinforced...45 Axe/Rossi marine..air inlets cut out,air outlets cut out..rudder trimmed down as was the strut, gonna run 20%nitro for break in since I already have some.My question is props...it came with a Prather 215 which I feel is a bit small..I would like to get 2-3 more before I go run so I can experiment..so which 2-3 do you all think would be in the best range??

RE: Thunder Cat 31
This was boat project started by a fellow who died shortly after he sent it to the shop to customize. This fall will just be a breakin period for the motor then work it over this winter to have it ready for some good running in the spring.Hopefully the .45 will really push it.
