Thanks for the reply coalminer! Your right, the bottom end is tighter than it should be in between strokes. It's my friends truck and the day it quit he ran it in a dirt parking lot without the air filter. I will advise him to look for a new engine. Thanks for the help!

RE: New FWC Airboat in Action
Great job Danny! Get a L shape peice of flat thin metal and put it on that back of the boat for a trim tab. You can even glue it on and it will stop the hopping.

RE: Airboat Drag Race
As easy as your boat moves Chad, the ramp should be flat as boats come off the end, instead of beveled down. I think it would be too hard for some boats to stage, especially with that slickem wet.

RE: Solo prop questions
ORIGINAL: HighPlains No you can not make a pusher prop by just turning the blades. However, they do make a reverse pitch prop if I read their web site correctly.
Where did you find that?

Solo prop questions
Can the blades by infinitely adjusted? Solo props told me through e-mail they can without the "actuating mechanism inside". My goal is to turn the blades enough so that I can make a pusher prop. If anybody has a Solo prop will you study it and determine if I can or not? Thanks a lot! Caylen17

RE: Aluminum step-hull build thread
Sorry guys, my dog ate the spool gun wires and haven't be able to afford a new one. In the mean time I have been working on a golf cart and it has taken up most of my time. I'm really anxious to get it finished and come run with the rest of these fast step hulls. I have located another spool gun and will have acess to it so I can finish my cage, and get it on the water.

RE: Aluminum step-hull build thread
ORIGINAL: srw1960 A beautifull job.. without a doubt! I need to ask though..those rivets you used are called blind rivets or pop rivets they are easy to use just put em in agun stick em in the hole and pull the handle...but they have a shaft inside of them that breaks off and just rattles around inside the rivet which brings up my concern..first radio interferance from all the rattling metal...and second they arent water tight with all of them in there it looks cool as all get out and I love that look but im worried its gonna leak like a sieve on ya..you mentioned frog spit on the bottom to smooth it up were you going to coat the sides as well to seal all the rivets???just curiouse id hate to see ya throw it in and then have disaster strike from either radio issues or water....Where did you get the plans for this???I have a 4 by 8 sheet of the same aluminum in the garage I might try my hand at it kooks way good
Hey srw1960, the rivits shaft that breakes in half is wedged in the rivit itself, so out of almost 1400 rivits not one of them rattles. I will paint the whold boat with a sealing primer that is applied to full size deckovers. I believe it's called steelflex 2000. After thats applied I will paint it and then frog spit the bottom. No plans, just winged it! I've got $15 in aluminum and 3 boxes of rivits@$12. I had all the building supplies.

RE: Lifted Highlift/Hilux/Tundra?
40 series was the cheap way out. My friend has some rockstars with boggers for sale that were the color I needed! Oh well. "If you want bigger tires, check out RC4WD's website. They make a TON of bigger tires for 1.9 or 2.2 rims that would work on the Tundra/Hilift." Thanks for that! I didn't know. My whole purpose of the build is too look really big while still being scale.
