RE: a123 or life batteries rx and tx
For my SD-10G I am using the fromeco 7.4v 2600mah Lithium Ion. I also use the same battery for my Rx on a Shulman Aviation 6v regulator. I flew all week at NATS in Muncie and didn't have to charge my Tx battery one time. http://www.fromeco.org/Products/01FRC2600-100/ Thanks, Chris

RE: ys175
As for the fuel I would recommend using 30% Heli from Morgan Fuels. I tried using 30% wildcat a long time ago and after 15 or so flights the engine wouldnt crank. If the motor did end up cranking it would idle for a few seconds then quit. I decided to go back to Morgan Fuels 30% Heli and all this black gunk came out the muffler and started running again. My problem may or may not have been fuel but I know what works now. I do know that Brett Wickizer is having great success with the Low smoke 30% heli too. Either glow or CDI will give you great performance. I personally have run a glow plug and CDI back to back and IMHO I really couldnt tell much of a difference in performance. what I really love about the CDI is that you can fly two full sequences at least on a tank of fuel, So it will give you more stick time.

Bill, I had another one built and was flying that one. I let a fellow pilot in need have my Monster Magic but it suffered a regulator failure in flight not long after. The plane is gone. The plane served me well and the other pilot was able to take second at NATS in Intermediate with it. Chris

RE: NATS 2012 : Let the journey begin!
ORIGINAL: nonstoprc I plan to go this year (first time). Some questions. 1. Will there be a problem to find 110v power outlet at the field because many pilots want to do so? I do not have a generator yet. 2. How many flights one should expect per day this year for AMA classes? I heard last year it wa two per day. Thanks in advance.
NonStop, You are going to have NONSTOP fun at the NATS this year. For that week it is pattern paradise in Muncie, Indiana. At NATS we only fly twice a day. I might be wrong but I don't think Advanced and Intermediate have Finals day this year so those classes will only fly 3 days of 2 flights a day. Masters and FAI have finals and will fly 4 flights on the fourth day of NATS Good Luck! Chris

NATS 2012 : Let the journey begin!
Well it looks like its that time of the year again! I would like to use this thread as a "catch all" for any NATS related discussion. Feel free to post pictures/video of your Journey leading up to NATS and while AT NATS. I guess I will go first and post a couple pictures. One is my Axiome at my new home field in Mulberry, FL and the other is a picture of Jason Shulman's Shark at his home field in Apopka, Fl. Neil Rivera Sent me a photo of a fleet of Sebart Wind S pros at Apopka, Fl Today I was able to get 8 flights in this morning and Jason said he is spending most of his day breaking in batteries with his Oxai Shark. Hope everyone has fun with this thread. Thank you, Chris Odom

Right now I am running the YS 175CDI and I am having trouble with the throttle barrel. It seems that when the engine gets to running and gets to operating temp the throttle barrel starts to stick at Idle. Has anyone had this type of issue before and what you may have done to fix the problem. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you, Chris Odom

RE: ys 170 - shutting down
Hey Taylor!!! So the Needle jumps out of the Motor with the check valve while running? If that is the case it is a very easy fix. Using JB Weld you can put the injector back into the motor and after giving the JB weld 24 hours to fully activate it should be good as new. Make sure to clean everything with alcohol first to get a good surface to bond to. Thank you, Chris Odom

john fuqua has been flyin them for 2 years in his bm's and i have seen Jason fly it several times in his Envision and integral. This past weekend D3 had a contest at Eglin AFB and had 25mph + winds throughout the weekend. The Fury had more than enough power to get through the winds. -chris

RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
ORIGINAL: g_mkoch First impressions Mine (really my father's) arrived yesterday and after a quick review here are my first impresions: The build looks top quality and should make an amazin flying plane. I did notice a few differences between the plane in the manual and this thread, and the one a received. the cowl in my plane is a single piece instead of a two piece, not that this bothers me or consider it to be a problem I actually like it better. Also in mine the canopy is held in place with two 3mm screws that go through the fuse I will probably change this to a release pin for easy removal. Outside these two things everything looks to be the same as in the manual. BTW for motor options the firewall comes predrilled for the torque motor, according to my calculations the mounting pattern in the firewall is 40mm dia X 3 so an Evo 30-10 or a Himax 6330-200/210 should drop in perfectly. The four blind nuts give me a M4X4 68mm dia so a hacker Q60 should also drop in perfectly. I still have to buy equipment and probably won't have it ready to fly until january. For set up I considering the following Ailerons 2X S9551 Elevators 2X S9650 Rudder 1X BLS-155 2 X tech aero PLR5 switches & 2X thunder power 900mah battery packs CC Ice 80HV Motor I still have to decide between the Q60 and the Himax 6330-210 any comments would be appreciated. 2 X Turnigy 5000mah 5S 25C
g_mkoch, Those two motors are great options! I also heard that Shulman Aviation just received their new Fury motors and are a perfect fit for the Vanquish. http://shulmanaviation.com/product_info.php?cPath=176_178&products_id=1790 thanks, Chris

RE: D-4 Championships
ORIGINAL: radray Chris, An upright spin entry does not make sense, do you exit the preceeding inverted top hat with an inverted exit to enter the spin upright after performing a half outside loop? If it is an upright spin entry with 2-1/2 spins followed by 2 of 4 point roll, that would also be an inverted exit which is different than the diagram? Thanks, Ray
Ray, Sorry I didnt explain myself enough. [:D] The Clown dance starts from upright. Pull the half loop to inverted then start the spin. The power point shows the plane entering the Clown Dance in the upright position ( Correct ) but the entry for the spin is upright as well. ( wrong ). Chris
