RE: WACO YMF
kvlarblom, I had measured the wires on N89B which is the one i'm using for my model and the wires "ALL" measured 10mm wide by 3mm thick. There may be other sizes out there but i beleive this to be the standard. chris melhus ceije 196

RE: WACO YMF
Tmac, the piano hinge I'm using is Brass colored metal with a metal rod. I haven't been abler to find aluminum hinge here. Errol, yes I did receive those hinges in the kit. But in building scale the full size plan uses piano hinge and i' duplicating it for scale, most all in their build have changed to piano hinge. Ceije,196

RE: WACO YMF
Mitch, Dan had suggested the same proceedure and had shown me his. I did try this but the wire would only budge about 1 1/2 in. Before it would break off, I don't see any reason to cut up the rest of the hinge. I did soak the hinge in W-D 40 and with a little back and forth flexing it is very close to the results of changing the wire. Regards, Chris melhus, ceije 196

RE: WACO YMF
Errol, yes we did talk about the counter weights a while back but I went to the four servo system. I found that the paino hinges even with a lot of work still tend to be a little stiff for just two servos. Yes, there are those that will say it is over kill for a 1/4 scale bird. Building is always a learning platform... Tmac, thanks.. Chris melhus, ceije 196

Dan, I'm working on installing the radial on the frame as we speak for a run-up, my major concern is exhaust oils soakting the wood, looking at setting a small throw rug right behind the exhaust tubes as a deflector. not too worried about a carpet and it should work. Chris #196

RE: WACO YMF
Dan, I know your a gas power type and i Nitro but i think, when i get to it i'll go to a DLE 55 it should be enough for the 1/4 . I finally decided that i'll use the Saito radial if it will start. it last ran in 1986 and has been boxed except fot the last 3 years, if it doesn't turn over i have the OS twin 300 both turn a 20/8 or a 20/10 prop.[8D][8D] regards, Chris #196 "sometimes you have to build it a little wrong in order for it to look right"DAVE PLATT
