RE: Effects of gravity on Airplane fuel tank in a dive.
Don't know if anyone does control line anymore? But there tanks are set up to go inverted and take into consideration centrifical force as well. Usually they let the pick up move freely about the tank so it goes where the gas goes thus, using it all!

RE: Torque and P factor, why do we continually confuse them?
I'm not sure how much it shows? But even with tail dragging Models (High Wing) for sure.Right rudder is needed on take-off.I know this from experiense. With a Model I have flown! It could be caused by the pitch of the prop wanting to push the nose to the left?Meaning a steeper pitch should make you need more right rudder on take-off?

RE: Gas v. Electric for for long range
Retriever props.could be lowered ounce in flight to help recharge (Batteries) and a small 4 stroke generaror would use much less fuel than a typical (Helicopter).I think this is an excellant alternative. It needs no tail rotor and is a much more efficiante concept! It has been built and flown on a Full Size version.Cabable of carrying a Pilot. The only differance is My version has wigs similar to a Glider that produce a very large amount of lift at a much slower speed. Also the rigid wing is not subject to oscilation as with thin Rotor Blades! This is the way to build an Electric Rotarywing Aircraft!

I was taught that the screwing affect of the prop wash on the vertical stabilizer caused that.Right Rudder on take off.I know that

Do you think you could make 2 wings for me.To be used in prop. configuration.Needs to be about 3/4 thick at thickest point and 8 inches leading edge to tailing edge. And cold you cote them? They are for a new prototype of this (Electric Rotowing) Thanks Charlie

If your from the lynn area there is a 107 flyers club They have a field about 1/2 the way down 107 between Ballard st. and Browns circle! I've seen people flying a Sylvania in Beverly near the Libertry Mall. It's been about 10 yrs since I was there. But I'm sure the 107th Club is still flying off 107?

You could try extending the leading edge of the tail. Both Rudder and airleron up the fueselage. It may help stabilize the airflow some before it gets to the tail?

I knew the Negative pressure did'nt start until after the thickest part But I guess alot after building and re-designing crashed planes.I can usually get pretty close a far as the c.g.I built an Aircraft when I was 12 That looked very much like todays Shuttle with a pusher 0.49 on control linesFlight Tests were done at Home Gliding down a long Staircase. No aerodynamics More of an Enclosed Kite for Bellcrank to Rear Elevator.Well if you flew the kite backwards it had the same basic Shape.

RE: Too much washout on twin, expect what??
I'm wondeing if you could take some dihedral out? Maybe (All) Might help some though inside wing does have a different airflow.Win some Loose somewhere else dihedral is there to right the aircraft in a neutral control suface!

RE: Stab and Fin airfoils.
I would think if you are balanced right they should be a neutral wing meaning it is curved on both sides.Works well for inverted flight!

RE: RC Hovercraft Build
Most of todays Jets use them. They close behind the outlet.Picture a half of a Basketball cut in two. When split they are on both sides .When closed they come together behind the motor reversing the thrust.Look at any airliner!

RE: Too much washout on twin, expect what??
By washout do you mean dihedral. That angle can be seen when you look at the Model Head-on.The wingtips are up slightly from the center of the wing.It is there to keep the aircraft level left to right.Meaning when you let go of the stick it should level out?The more pitch the less lift! If you get into a spin use opposite rudder only.Using airlerons to come out of it puts more drag on inside wing actually compounding the problem. The only problem I can forsee is a slight loss of lift?

When I was a Kid I had a control line Nobler It gave reverse flaps with elevator.Meaning Flaps went Down when Elevator went up. And Up when elevator went down.It responded very good in loops and inverted loops.Have'nt seen it on any R/C.s Though?

RE: TAKING OFF WITH FLAPS
I could'nt agree with Brad anymore. They are Helpfull for lift on take-off But, to much Flaps on take-off will Hinder you getting up to airspeed and the plane might take off at an uncontrollable airspeed. And they do slow your airspeed quite alot in the full down position almost allways when landing. You also may need to set flaps at les than full down on windy days when you have to actually Fly it in all the way to touchdown.Hope I Helped Good Luck
