RE: 1943 Movie on J3 Manufacturing
Very neat video, indeed! What variation of J3 was that one? It had a swing out door, similar to what the Pacers had.

RE: US 1000 Gas Engine Recommendation
I know this is old, but I was wondering if you ever built this bird, and what engine you decided on. I have just acquired one of these kits also, and am thinking about going with gas, also, but not sure which one to go for. I see HK has several 26-30cc sized engines for cheap, as well.

You didn't happen to ask if there were any other nuggets of misinformation in the book or plans he'd like to divulge, before you get that far along again, and need correction, did you?

Does that kit (plans, book, etc) give you the option to build it as a clipped wing?

RE: 1/3 BUSA Super Cub Build
Not picking on you, by any means, but is there a Macro setting on your camera? or are you working with a phone cam? You have some good detail shots, but most of them aren't in focus. Again, not knocking you by any means, this written documentary of all the different obstacles, and accomplishments, and upgrades, is very interesting.

RE: ***CUB BROTHERHOOD***
I wanted the tundra tire look, so I went for some Dubro 4 1/2" inflatables. They're heavy though, compared to the H-9 stock ones.

RE: ***CUB BROTHERHOOD***
OH OK... My bad... Let me clarify.. I'd like to punish myself again, with yet another 1/4 scale, Sig CW Cub kit. This time, with the premise of finishing it! LOL The one I had previously was back in '95 or 96', about the time I took a hiatus from R/C. I got to see the bird finished, a few months after I sold it, and wished I never got rid of it. Sorry for the confusion.

RE: mvvs engines, where can you buy them?
I had called Morris asking about them about a year ago, and found out they no longer carried them... Further research lead me to the fact that mvvs's product line was not being promoted as they should have been like a major distributor like tower hobbies or horizon would.. As a result, they pulled the product line, and through some digging I read somewhere they came to horizon hobby with a whole new line of engines by the name of evolution.. I have a Evo 46 that I bought new in the box, and it's a strong running engine.. It performed almost as well as my mvvs 40... starts easy, and idles super low, with an instant throttle response.. I was amazed, especially for the price... I'd really like to get my hands on the mvvs, if they are of the same quality as they once were years ago...

RE: mvvs engines, where can you buy them?
My evil plot is to cram one of those .49's into the nose of a blue 40 sized rascal... Which brings up perhaps another off topic question, how does the case size of the mvvs 49 compare to the os 46? Will it mount in the same holes? same cc width? The other 2 sizes are for some other project and a spare..

mvvs engines, where can you buy them?
Who distributes MVVS engines these days? I would prefer a US distributor, but I'll take what I can get within a reasonable budget. I have an old .40 that runs like a top, and would like to get my hands on a .49, .50 or a .77 with tuned silencers.

RE: e-flite mini edge 540
I have an edge with the stock toasted gearbox, and eflite 400 4200 kv motor setup. Assembly was easy, setup with the pull-pull rudder setup. Cg was way tail heavy. it took lots of lead in the nose, even after moving everything up as far forward as i could to get the plane reasonably flyable. Before i spend a few more bucks on oem replacement gearbox, I am reading about the cobri gearboxes here. What pinion and spur setup is best? Also, as anyone tried an outrunner motor setup on one of these yet? I may would rather go that route, as it seems to be relatively maintenance free, but I don't have a clue as to what motor to get. any input on either setup would be greatly appreciated!
