savage question
Hey guy's im getting ready to get another truck. The problem is ive always been use to the tmaxx trucks. So now im looking into getting the savage x 4.6.Is it worth the money that I will be putting into it.I know with my tmaxx trucks crap would break all the time.I hear different opinions on the 2 about the durability of each.I have 2 tmaxx 3.3 which are very fast but break when I try to do any kind of real bashing with them.I know they all will break at some point.Ive also had big problems the traxxas motors blowing.Ive had to replace 2 of them within a year and I still need to get another.Broke them all in the correct way and never ran them hot.In every case the piston would snap.So does the savage motors hold up very well and can I do some good bashing with it?If so then I will get one this weekend. Can someone let me know the pro's and con's between the 2,thanks.

RE: I have a idea
LOL....Here is what I had up.It was something to the effect of.Starting a parts exchange thread. Like people could list what extra parts they may have.So that way if someone needed something and they had extra parts, then you could do some parts trading.I think it would help with down time on the r/c and would help out if dealers and what not were out of stock. Just a thought, maybe a silly one at that.....

RE: Volcano STX REDCAT
Dude welcome to the broken clutch spring club.I think all or at least most of us with the volcano, have the same problem.Replace that spring with a traxxas spring, but keep the same clutch shoes on it.Ive wanted to run mine over a bunch of times, but if you listen to some of the guys on here. They will get you through your problem.Great group of people on here.... Just try the traxxas spring before you return it.It is a great truck once you can debug it.Ive bought 2 myself, actually 3,but one was a b-day present for my brother. We both use the traxxas spring and no more problems with it.

RE: volcano engine
I hope you find something that will work for you.I just dont want to put too much more money into a engine for my volcano. After all I need that spare money for all the other parts I break, lol. I'm 35 now and feel as if I was back in the cave man days riding a dinosaur and falling off,and breaking my wooden shorts. So popper drink one for us old timers,lol....Here was my saying when I turned 35.. I can not see,I can not pee,35 has come at last,lol.....

RE: volcano engine
I just went back to the same one.Now that I know what i'm doing,I can at least get that new motor running right the first time. The one that I snapped the piston in.Was my very first nitro. So needless to say I didnt know anything about them.So I know its my fault that it snapped. I never did break-in the engine.Took it out of the box fueled it and ran it like a mad hatter.... So now I broke it,lol.....So for the new guy's make sure you break your engine-in. Dont be like me and just open and run.Be good to the motor and it will be good to you. Damn I sound like a shrink,lol.....

RE: volcano stx piston
Hey ehroof thanks man.I think I will go with the .18.The throttle will hook up different right? What I mean this carb has the little bulb looking end on it.Versus the one on the volcano carb that just sticks in there. So I would have to get a different throttle hook up right?

RE: Traxxas Clutch Spring
I tried the traxxas shoes once, just to see how they fit.The ones I had were to small. So I just used redcat shoes, and the traxxas spring was smaller.Which I think gave the truck better take off.
