ESC Problems?
I haven't really been into the RC scene for a while, but the other day it struck me to fix up my TT-01 and get it running again. Everything is in good condition, except the electronics. In it I have an Airtonics servo, HPI RX-2 receiver, Duratrax Intellispeed 16T ESC, and a Chameleon 2 19T motor. Right after I installed the ESC and new motor, I would have problems like before it would reach top speed the motor would just stop, then I could only get it up to about half the speed I had it before and it would do the same thing. Now, it seems like it won't take any power from the battery pack, even though it's fully charged. I checked the connections, and everything is connected, it just won't turn on. I plugged in a spare RX battery pack from my HPI rush, and then it would turn on and the steering would work, but thats the only way i can get any power to it. I'm about to buy a new ESC since this one seems messed up, and while I'm at it I might buy all new electronics too. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem before. -Chris

Glitchy Radio
Ok, I have a Futaba MC 210CB esc on a stadium truck that I just bought, and any receiver that I hook up to it my motor gets all glitchy whevever the steering servo is going. I know that some receivers and esc's are not compatable, but I was just wondering which receivers are known to work with this esc. I am about to buy a futaba R122JE-2 ( http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXALL3&P=7 ), but I am hoping someone has this esc and can tell me first hand what receiver they are using. Thanks. PS the receiver that i am using now is a hitec 75 mhz one. 75 mhz seems to be the only thing I can use because my HPI 27 mhz reciver didnt work. (Yes I changed the crystals)

RE: motor turn question
The lowest I've seen is a 7 turn, but in order to have that you would probably need to upgrade your ESC, and your runtimes would be crap. After the whole turn thing there is brushless, and those are like holy crap thats fast. In order to have a brushless motor you need a brushless capable ESC, and the whole shebang is around 200 bucks. As far as modifying your motor...there isn't really anything you can do besides buying a lower turn motor. Before you buy anything check to see what your speed controller can handle. Hope this helps.

Futaba FXT hub carriers???
Ok, so i just bought a Futaba FXT stadium truck, and I need a new hub carrier. It's a discontinued truck, so I'm pretty sure I won't get a genuine replacement. I looked at what was left of the right one and the whole left one, and realized they were different. I'm pretty sure the broken one was the original because the other had washers on either side of the hinge pin keeping the carrier in the center. My questions are A) does anyone know what parts will fit the FXT? B) does anyone have an FXT hub carrier that they want to sell to me? and C) will this alternative work. (first pic is what I have, 2nd is the duratrax part) http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/8994/dscf01351lt.jpg http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/6498/hub3sb.jpg I eralize that with the duratrax part, I will have to drill a hole for the hinge pin, but if there's no alternative, then im gonna have to do it [X(]

RE: RC10 to RC10T
Ok, will do. The only thing I have to now is figure out what turnbuckles are the same size, where I can get a new hub carrier, and then just some little work making sure everything works right. If I run into any problems i'm sure someone on the vintage thread can help me with where to find parts and stuff. Thanks for the help!

RE: RC10 to RC10T
Ok, I just got the truck and the first thing I did was take some pics (hence the dirtyness of the truck). it doesnt seem to be a buggy, but the front suspension arms are pretty short. Also, I noticed that the a-arms are solid...no cuts out of it or anything. Of course, there were a few surprises, like carbon fiber front and rear shock towers, proline tires (rear) and aftermarket rims. The rear shocks need to be rebuilt, but after a good cleaning and a new a-arm if I can find it then she should be rollin'. here are the pics so you can tell what it is...rc10, FXT, or hybrid. Also, the chassis is the metal tub type, much like the FXT.

RE: RC10 to RC10T
I'm pretty sure this is an FXT, because the radio looks the same as a pic of the FXT that I found. The only thing is the suspension components dont seem to match up with those of the FXT or those of the RC10. When i get it I'll take more pics and put them up for whoever to decide what it is.

RE: RC10 to RC10T
haha, yeah thats where i got it from. i originally didnt go to the marketplace to buy anything, really, but then I saw it, did my research and decided to go ahead with it. All it needs is a new a-arm and it should be good. Also, the guy that i bought it from was selling the motor as a different item, but he said for 12 bucks he'd just put it on and I mean 12 bucks for a motor (even if it is stock) isnt that bad. I still dont know if I'm gonna fix it up and sell it, or keep it as a basher. Im kinda leaning towards the keeping it, but I think my mom wants me to sell it. Also, does anyone know if this is the FXT or the RC10? The front shock tower looks a little bit different from the RC10's, but I can't find any FXT pics so im not sure what to compare it to. O well, whatever it is, it was a good deal. (on second thought, the front shock tower may be aftermarket...kinda looks like carbon fiber)

RC10 to RC10T
Hey, this may sound like a retarted question, but I was wondering what parts I would need to convert the RC10 to a 10T(I'm pretty sure its an rc10, the guy selling it didnt know, and yes, I know its beat up but it was only 40 bucks). I know the a-arms, but do I also need the hinge pins, nad what other parts. I just bought the truck and it's my first associated car/truck, so I need some help with this. Also is a pic of what I bought, so you can see it for yourselves. Thanks, Chris

RE: New to drifting.
Nope, nothing special beside pvc or abs tires is needed to drift. Go to your local hardware store and grab yourself some 2 inch pvc or abs, go home and cut it (or have the store do it), slap the tires on your rims, and your ready to drift.

RE: putting abs just on rear tyres?
Yeah, I put my pvc tires on just teh rear and it was extremely hard to control, though I did get some pretty sweet 360's. If your going with ABS then just put them on all the tires.

RE: Glitchy Electronics???
Ok, so i fixed the connectors and everything, and it still does it. Whenever i hit the throttle, it will stay at that speed for a few seconds, and sometimes jumps up to full throttle for a few seconds. I disconnected the wire going from the receiver to the ESC, and tried the steering, and there is no glitching at all, so my conclusion is that this problem is in the ESC. On Tamiya's website it's going for 54 bucks, and im pretty sure its brand new, so I was wondering if there was any type of return deal with tamiya. I'm gonna contact the guy who I bought it from to see if it was brand new, but I guess my major question is does this sound like an ESC problem? Thanks, Chris

RE: Glitchy Electronics???
It also is seeming to get stuck at ful throttle more often now. I'll just tap the throttle and it'll stay there for a few seconds, no matter what im doing trying to stop it. I reset the ESC, and when i get the plugs the same if things still dont work out, I'll try the receiver.

RE: Glitchy Electronics???
Ok, thanks. I'll set it right now. One more thing, my battery is a tamiya style connector, but the one on the car is a dean's style plug. They fit together...kinda, so this could be the problem. My new charger should be here in a few days, so I'll just cut the connector off my old charger and solder it to where the deans plug was. Thanks alot for the info.

Glitchy Electronics???
Hey, just got my tamiya tt-01 from ebay and all i can say is wow, but there a few things. First of all, this was a kit that some guy built and sold on ebay, but from me know what to look at and how to build kits on my own, it looks like he did a really good job. I charged my battery, stuck it in, and went for a spin, but the electronics seem a little glitchy. It will take off fine, but when i give it a little throttle, the car goes slowly, then i punch it and the car stops for a sec then picks up, and it doesnt seem to have a smooth band of acceleration. here are the specs, so you jknow what I'm dealing with. ESC is a stock Tamiya one, receiver is a Hitec HP-2RNB, receiver is a a Hitec Lynx, and motor is an epic 27 turn. I dont know if its the reciever or the ESC (im guessing ESC cause its a stcok tamiya one), so any help would be appreciated. Also, sometimes it gets stuck at full throttle for a few seconds. I was messin around with it in my kitchen and it headed straight for the wall, luckily it stops right before it. Thanks! -Chris

BRAND NEW OS.18 CV-RX WONT START
So a while ago i had a post up about what engine to get for my friends maxx, and he finally decided to go ahead and get the OS .18 CV-RX, which i think is a great deal for 99 bucks at tower. Anyways, I get the clutch and everything on, and try to start it up...and no luck. I tried three glow plugs that i am sure work, and it wouldnt start up. I looked at the fuel line and I could see the fuel in it, but it wasnt going to the carb, it was like an air bubble and it wouldnt go out. So, i look in the manual and under one of the possible reasons for not starting, it says fuel not reaching carb. I know that theres no fuel reaching it, but i dont know why there is no fuel going to it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

hold on, is this the one that you are talking about? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGGP8&P=0 cause that crank looks like the shorter one (i guess thats what the s stands for) and it has a pull start, which is good.

"No, actually the plane is controlling me.......is controlling me.......is controlling me..." [/quote] ROFLMAO hahaha yeah well ive had a few pretty bad ones which include: 1. Does that thing run on gas??? as im revving it and smoke is comin out the exhaust. 2. how much, whered you buy it? Usually i say the hobby store, but i have said i found it once. ^ in reply to the i found it, some kid asked me if he could have it and i said no and he said thats not fair, wahhh. i was like wtf go home. 3. kids with radioshack cars. I cant really bash em too much cause i did have one when i was like 7 (broke so i opened it up and tried to fix it, saw practically a motherboard with wires and everything and threw it in the trash) 4. where do you get the gas? 5. can i drive it. im like you break it you buy it. they ask well how much is it, and im like around 500 (maxx with hopups and such) then they just walk away. Also, this isnt really rd related, but I play DDR, and this kid that i babysit is like my cousins in canada are soo much better than you, they could beat you any day they have this one ddr its called ddr advance (no such thing) and there like 8 arrows at the same time wow only they can do it there the best in the world...and so on. THEN he says i can do it too, im better than you are. Im like ok, thats pastr the line. I show him a vid of me playin and hes like thats an easy one i passed it before, and so on. I open up stepmania (ddr simulation on computer) and pick that song, and i say well there ya go. prove it. hes like no im tired and its too hard with your fingers. im like ok cameron. you can do it with your feet moving your whole body but you cant move your fingers. anways, thats all folks.

TRX .15 Rebuild Kit
Hey, havent been around the rc scene in a while, but im slowly getting back into it with my t-maxx. Anyways, my friend has a t-maxx that stopped working, and i took the engine apart (trx .15 pro) and realized wow this has absolutely no compression. So, the big question is, where can I find a rebuild kit for a trx .15 pro engine. Now I know that it would be wiser to buy a better engine, i.e. like an OS or sumthin, but I think he wants to stick with this engine justa lil bit longer. I'll check ebay to see how much .15's are goin for (prolly pretty cheap), but I'd appreciate any info i can get. Thanks
