RE: .........
ORIGINAL: Navy_1 ok all been a wile but its time for the help section to come alive. i'm trying to figure out my Gyro setting for my DX7 and my telebee V2. any help would be great
I have a DX6i, so the gyro settings should be the same. As you know, anything above 50% is considered head holding mode - below 50% is rate mode. I have Telebee's on both my Esky Belt CP and my TREX 450 V2, and my tx is set at 70%. Btwn 70 and 75%, you should be good to go. If not, adjust accordingly. Good luck! BTW, I'm retired Navy. Are you still Active duty?

RE: Instable belt cp when hovering
Check your head speed - also, what pitch do you have your blades? Around 5-6 degrees should be good for hovering. Rotor head speed is one of the main reasons for your helo going up and down, or "bobbing" IMO. Can you check your throttle curve (don't know if you have adigital tx (Spektrum) or ESKY Tx).

RE: First successful hover!
Congrats on your first hover. I know the butterflies were swarming on the inside - I'll never forget that feeling. Just keep practicing, take baby steps, and you'll be hovering a full pack in no time flat!!!!
ORIGINAL: Disney1 Looks great. Is that a Heli Artist Fuselage? If so they are now selling a Duct Fan tail rotor for it. http://www.heliartist.com/showroom/heliartist-ec135-cnc-fan-system-v2-p-83.html
I ordered it from XHeli. Cost is $49.95. They have a wide selection of fuselages for 450 and 500 helos. That duct fan is cool!!!!!! A lot of money for that part, but if you want realism, that's the part!!

Thanks for all the positive comments!!! Yes, it is BIG, tail control is good, and it flies big! Here is a pic of my collective fleet (TREX 500, Belt CP, and TREX 450 V2). Not to brag, but I'm proud that I built each bird from scratch (ordered kits) [:D] - each fly a little different than the other, so I'm careful not to try something out of the ordinary when I fly. As you can see in the last pic, the Belt EC-135 fuselage dwarfts the TREX airwolf fuselage!!!

RE: .........
Hello all! I've been away for a while, but I just had to post a pic of my Belt CP V1 with my new EC-135 fuselage. This thing is HUGE, almost the size of my TREX 500!! Scale flying is so realistic that I may not ever do 3D. You all helped me tremendously during my "break-in" phase with my Belt CP, and I appreciate it. Tell me what you think of it!!!

Thanks for all the positive comments! I use a Futaba GY401 HH gyro with the Futaba S9257 tail servo for my 500. They are sold as a set.

PICS OF MY TREX HELOS
Here are the latest pics of my helos - TREX 450SE V2 with Heliartist fuselage (with lights) and TREX 500 with updated canopy and navigation lights. Just finished the installation of the fuselage on my 450, and it flies like a champ!!! It is tailheavy when using typical 450 lipos (2350mah, etc.) so I took my 500 lipos (2 3S 2650mah 30c lipos), and put them in the 450. I bought new 6S 3000 mah lipos for the 500, and now the COG in the 450 is perfect now.

MY NEW TREX 450SE AFTER FIRST FLIGHT
Just put her in the air for about 5 minutes - flies like a charm. Solid, no shakes, steady hover. Added a couple of cosmetic items (tail boom, skids, fiberglass canopy) that adds to the look. Also painted the frame the same color as the helo. Enjoy pics!

MY TREX 500 PICS
I've had my 500 for approx. 3 months now, and I must say that it has spoiled me to the point that I don't fly my Esky Belt CP or ExceedRC Raptor much anymore. I used a little imagination and came up with this scheme - I think it really pops!!!
ORIGINAL: pgroom_68 Hey again cjennjr, I thought I'd save a bit of room and NOT quote all that stuff again.[:)] Would you describe the "swaying" as a harmonic which occurs at a regular time every few milliseconds whether or not you are moving the cyclic? If so, it sounds like your outer shaft has a bend in it, or it could just be your blade-tracking (I trust you know how

pgroom 68: I posted before I saw your last communicade. I went ahead and ordered another shaft and gear unit. I'll balance my bottom blades and see if that helps also. Thanks for your inputs - I see you are from "The Land Down Under." Thanks again!!!

RE: ESKY LAMA 4 THREAD
OK, I did the test and found out that something is wrong with the main shaft unit. Although it is not bent ( I upgraded to the metal head), the bottom blades track for a second, then not track, then track again, etc. I think that's why I have the harmonic sway back and forth. What would make it do that? If I have to, I'll purchase the main shaft and gear, but don't want to if I don't have to. Additionally, went back to stock swashplate - the metal just didn't fit right.

RE: ESKY LAMA 4 THREAD
To pgroom 68: Yes, it's like a "harmonic" swing going back and forth, even when I'm not touching the cyclic controls! As I increase throttle, the swaying gets more erratic. As indicated earlier, I replaced the inner shaft and the flybar, hoping that would solve the problem. I may have to replace the outer shaft too, I guess. I'll check per your instructions and see what happens. Also, I get a ticking sound from the motors/gears. I thought that was normal. As always, your recommendations are appreciated.

RE: ESKY LAMA 4 THREAD
I purchased a 2.4Ghz Lama V4 for Xmas and ordered the metal head upgrade. Since installing it, this thing has been all over the place - the swash is too big for the canopy, so I trimmed as much as I could to no avail - it still rubs. When I take off, it either goes extreme right or extreme left, never straight up. So, I'm putting the plastic head back on and see what happens. Also, I will reset the proportional and gain swtiches to see if that helps. Yes, the CG is good.

RE: First Rebuild. The Raptor G2 Question.
To Bad400 - the G2 is not that bad of a helo. If you have a brushless motor and ESC, it's pretty fun to fly. The only thing is if a gust of wind get it, a crash is almost inevitable, since it is light for a 400 class helo. But, the head setup is similar to the TREX helos, which provides more stability than the Esky stock heads on the Belt CP. I'm more comfortable flying my G2 inside than my Belt CP because of head stability. Nevertheless, crashes will happen - get use to it.

RE: First Rebuild. The Raptor G2 Question.
Yes - use the flybar as the guide. I went straight into 3d without venturing into coaxial, so go for it. The only way to succeed is to practice your craft - I did, and I still get butterflies every time I get my helos off the ground!!!

RE: I want to upgrade my heli
Switch any two wire connections btwn your motor and ESC. That should spin your motor in the right direction.

RE: g2 head speed
There is a way to check the speed control - you can unplug your current BL motor, have them hook up another motor and see if it has the same problems. If so, then you need another ESC. I recommend a 35A ESC. BTW, I have an Eflite 35A ESC on my G2.

RE: First Rebuild. The Raptor G2 Question.
Yes - use the pitch gauge to determine 0 pitch for the paddles. Generally, you can look at them when they spin and determine if they are level or not. Use a measuring stick to ensure the flybar is exactly centered. By the way, I live in TN also!!![:D]

RE: g2 head speed
The feathering shaft connects both blades to the rotor head. If it is bent in any way, you will have vibrations and it will be almost impossible to track your blades. Very simple removal/installation.

I have a question about the antenna on my Lama V4. I have a 2.4Ghz system, and my antenna fell off the mixer unit and I can't find it. Also, the helo is acting funny since the antenna fell off. What can I use as a substitute and how do I solder another one to the unit?
