RE: Extreme Flight 110" 100cc Yak 54 Build!
Here is how I fixed the louver cracking problem. Don't know if it has been mentioned here yet or not. I removed the black paint from the louvers. Once you get it going you can use painters tape to stick on the paint and peel it off. I then painted it with Pactra R/C paint on the back side. Next I took some .5oz fiberglass cloth and some epoxy. I glassed the back side of the louver cover. So far no cracks. The original one would have cracked by now.

Electric Foamy Shrike
I have always been a Shrike fan. I took a Shrike scaled it down and made some changes. It flies pretty well. I will be using it for the Pylon racing at the E-Fest. It's powered by a Little Screamers park jet. Weighs 9.5oz.

No biggie and I'm very anal at the way my planes look. Scoubidou, The plane stalls pretty well. It will show the break.

I balanced mine tonight. I have the older DA with stock exhaust. The batteries had to go farther back then I thought. Just behind the rudder servo. Too bad I mounted my switch up front. Have to move it to the back or add 18" of 16 gauge wire.

RE: AeroCat Fast Pusher *70 MPH*
Here is how I did the rudders. There is a carbon rod with plastic tubes on each end. The tubes have a hole drilled with a carbon rod going through them. This acts as the hinge. I got the idea from a foamy biplane called the Merlin. My only worry is if the carbon will flutter.

It came out to 9.1oz with battery. I did not add the rudder servo yet. Still debating on it. So it's about .3oz lighter then my last one and will weigh about the same if I add the rudder servo. It has a LS park jet motor and TP 1320 3S battery pack. Scott, Can you get all white ones?

RE: AeroCat Fast Pusher *70 MPH*
I have been milling foamies for people all winter. So I thought I would try it on an Aerocat. I was making this one for indoors. We fly at a dome. My regular one flew fine there, but wanted to get it lighter. So I made a milling jig and milled one airframe. So far I have taken of 10 grams. Doesn't sound like much, but it's almost the weight of two servos. The airframe is still very stiff. Should have this one at the E-Fest. That's where I got hooked on this plane.

RE: H-9 Extra 260
ORIGINAL: camss69 I also have my eye on the EF 110" yak but at 29lbs I think I would pass. I'm still waiting on a weight from someone with a light setup ie. no power box, A123's with no regs, stock mufflers on a DA-100 and if it's under 27lbs then great.
How can you complain about 29lbs on a bigger plane? Yes there is some weight to take off from his. Power box etc... BACK ON TOPIC.... My friend just got a 260 the other day. A few glue marks on the wings. Not much though. He did have a big dent in the cowl that will need to be replaced and a stringer in the fuse was broke. Other then that it looks great. We looked at the wings pretty close. I am wondering if they addressed the issue? Seemed to be plenty of glue and the sheeting seemed tight on the leading edge. No flexing. For the price you can't beat it. I have flown one and if you pass this plane up for the few small issues you are missing out.

RE: H-9 Extra 260
ORIGINAL: bodywerks
ORIGINAL: T. Bob
If you want top-quality/durability at the expense of a little extra weight, Aeroworks is the only option, period - and they make a 260.
Seen both and flown both and you could not be more wrong. The H-9 is a fare better value and their customer service is second to none. The H-9 has a more finished and complete kit. a. hinges already sealed b. well designed kit no need for a pull / pull much quicker to install c. piano hinge on rudder is easier to install and removable. (aeroworks get the epoxy out) d. C/F tail wheel assembly not spring steel. e. all hard points installed. f. cool pilot. g. ask Aeroworks about replacement parts if you’re lucky they will be in stock the only problem is then is the price. The plane is at least a pound lighter and it's a heck of a lot better looking aircraft. (covering and scale appearance) And you still say Aeroworks is better. Stop drinking the cool-aid bodywerks
Never said it was better, but the finish quality is better, bar-none. The guy wants top-quality finish. He WILL NOT get it with this H9 260 - period! Now, all your other points (except G - haven't needed spare parts) are very valid. They still don't make it a better quality finish.
All I got to say is I saw TBOBS H9 260. The quality is there. One thing that surprised me was the shine to the cowl. I have yet to see another arf that had the paint shine like that. Now back on topic about this top quality arf from H9. This is not an Aeroworks thread. Thank you!
