RE: DLE 55-RA
just depends on money,if you have it,go for the da60,the support and parts will always be there and more hp than the 55. if not, you can't beat a dle55 for the cost and how they run.as long as you can do the work on them your self, you can buy parts most any where. also i have both two da's and two dle55's.

RE: CRRC 55 TWIN
you probably now more than most,if there are a few where you fly.just like you said some good others not,it's a crap shot if you get a good one.there not the strongest engine on the block, but there not the most money either. i fly with a guy that has a XYZ 53-55 not sure witch,it seems ok,no trouble, power is just ok. as long as you can get parts for it and can work on it,i say to each his own.

it's amazing the demand for a good 60-70cc twin, even when they are out of production and parts are not around, guy's still will buy them. good to hear you sold your engine it was a good deal, for someone.

RE: MT70CC TWIN
so VV still has a few parts for the 70? there is a guy over on the FG that has three of these engines, one new in the box and two that he is running now,all three are for sale.the NIB engine he wanted 300.00 for it, and all engines came fro VV,so you would think that they have been inspected.

captinjohn, thanks for the youtube link, thats 57 seconds of my life i will never get back.[:D] so i guess from the posts, not many have been brave enough to try a eme60? 6600 on a 24-a seems rite along the power that the jc60 makes, between a dle55 and a da60.

RE: DLA 56
glad to hear it help,a lot guy's think that the remote breather tube is all fiction, but it works good if you have to much air preasure in the cowl. your's might work a little better if you move it outside the fuse,i mount all of mine under the cowl between the landing gear.

RE: BUYING USED GASOLINE ENGINES
yes i agree with that for the most of china made engines, but dle's are every where, parts are cheap and can be bought even on ebay.and they are good running, dependable engines, with good power,or at lease the 55 is. there are deals out there on used dle's, but only if you can do the wrench work on them does it make it worth it.

RE: Old C&H ignition expertly repaired!
got a few flights on the new ignition this weekend, can't complain about anything at all.starts easy, idles great(i think smoother than the rcexl),couldn't tell any difference in top RPM's,transtions from idle to WOT seems better also. i am getting a better, wider spark, more blue and a louder snap. GOOD JOB JOHN,your my new igniton supplier.

John, got the ignition that you made for me today.i was sort of surprise that it look just like a rcxel ignition, thats a good thing because it fits the same spot as the old one did.i was expecting it to look the old CH ignition with the aluminum box. its on the plane now and getting a nice loud sharp snap and good blue spark.i will fly it tomorrow and let you now how it goes.you will be getting more business from me for sure.

RE: Evolution 58cc two broken rings
cheapest way out is to replace the cylinder and piston and ring your self. there are no cylinder liners that i know of.if you try to run a cylinder hone down the cylinder you could remove to much material and go through the lining. you might be running the engine to lean, causing it to run hot and sticking a ring.

RE: DLE 55 Crank Broke in Flight
just rebuilt a DLE55,cylinder,crank,piston,crank bearings.when i took the case apart there was no sealant at all between the cases and no leaks just a tight machine fit.i used something called the The Rite Stuff, from Auto Zone, like silicone but gas will not hurt it,Tom from BME told me about it. i agree the DLE55 is a great running engine.

i use these Xoar props on a dle55. i like the 23-8 beechwood the best and the 22-8 laminate very close second.all on a DA side dump muffler,and tuned for peak rpm's,redline @ 32-1. 22-8 beechwood 7350 22-8 laminate 6950 23-8 beechwood 7000 23-8 laminate 6650

thats probably a good thing for you.in this economy for anyone to take on that much in inventory on a company that won't supply dealers with parts is taking a chance.guy's don't want to buy anything that they can't get parts for,and don't. i for one say let the GW line of planes die.

RE: Would you rebuild it or lay it to rest
from the looks of the engine your going to have about 200.00 in it to repair.i just rebuild a dle 55,cylinder,rod&crank,piston,crank bearings,i have 125.00 in it,and you need a new case also, thats another 60.00 i think,so you do the math weather it's worth it or not.
