RE: Just Purchased: Aquacraft Rio EP
what would be a good lipo batt to get for the stock setup then? what do you recommend? 2s 3200? 5000? Does the stock ESC come with deans connector?

RE: Just Purchased: Aquacraft Rio EP
I was thinking of doing a super Vee, but now this little boat looks like it might fit the bill better? Less $$$ better radio, I don't need a speed demon at the moment, but something fun, stable, fairly fast.. I don't really want to buy a bunch of lipos for the super Vee (defiantly want lipos tho) Can you run a 3s or 2s 5000 lipo on the stock setup on the Rio EP? obviously need a lipo cutoff sensor, but wondering if it'll fry the stock ESC... IF I'm upgrading the ESC and motor etc, I'd rather just get the super Vee..

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27
I'm new to boats, lots of airplanes... I'm on a pretty calm harbor with lots of room in Hawaii, how does this thing do in salt water? I was thinking this would be a fun 1st boat. Gonna set it up with li-po's and the lipo bat cuttoff. otherwise stock. where's a good guide for waterproofing? I don't have a retrieval boat, and really don't wanna go swimming much in the diesel filled harbor here, so gonna try to minimize flips!

RE: Aerofly 5 preview!
What are the requirements for mac for Aerofly5? I have a 1.5yr old Mac book pro 2.4GHZ core 2 duo, 4gigs of memory GeForce 8600M GT 256MB OSX 10.6.2 Will afp5 run well? I was thinking of buying AFPD and then getting the upgrade for 5 in case it doesn't run as well as I like and I still have AFPD then.

Help with power setup for Ultrafly Yak 54
Just bought a Ultrafly E Yak 54 at the LHS today, very pretty airplane, and the price was right!!!! I'm having a tough time determining the power setup since there's not much info on them here! [link=http://www.modelflight.com.au/ultrafly/ultrafly_yak_54.htm]ultrafly yak[/link] Specs Lenth 39.5" Wingspan 47.25" Wing area 400 sq.in AUW 37oz For batteries I'd like to run the new thunderpower 3s 2200 extrme's... keeps the bat costs down. cause they were saying the manual for extreme 3d use 3s2p 2100!!!! I was thinking the Atlas 2915/10 setup with the 45AMP speed controler package from Hobby lobby, price is only 126 for both! most likely a 12x6E APC would be a good prop I'm guessing... the Atlas might be too much torque / low windings setting... so I'm thinking the 2nd choice would be the AXI 2814/20 setup with a jetti 40amp esc... The atlas stuff would be preferable cause It comes with the extra mounts etc... and is cheaper! Any other combo's would be appricated!

places to buy falcon 3d, LHS?
Hey know its kinda a shot in the dark, but think I'm gonna bite the bullet and get a falcon 3d heli... Was thinking of getting a blade CP pro, but I'll be flying in my backyard mostly and want somthing that can do better in the wind, and don't want to fork over the $$$ for a t-rex. Anywhere in the NJ/NY/CT/PA tri-state area that has one in stock? anyone seen one at their LHS? I see that there's the guy in florida you can order them from, and obviously hobby lobby. But I'd like to support a LHS, and would love to be flying this weekend! Thanks! ~Andrew

Chelton EFIS WOW!!!!
Anyone flown one of these??? I downloaded the AOPA commander for MS flight sim, and LOVE the forward looking 1min anticipation of the crosshair! FREE DOWNLOAD FOR AOPA members. Here's the link for Chelton USA [link=http://www.direct2avionics.com/index.html]http://www.direct2avionics.com/index.html[/link] One of the sport systems in a Vans or Lanceair would be amazing! I see the GPS is WAAS, so I assume its certafied for PREC approches? All you'd need for full IFR is the Chelton, a Garmin SL30, and a xponder!???!!?? wow! am I wrong here? I'm amazed at the technology!

RE: CA models Extra 27% or 31% for mvvs 58?
I had a 27% Columbo with a ZDZ50 15.5 lbs had plenty of power, but I didn't really like it that much... plane felt very squirly, and doesn't have nearly as much wing area as other 27% designs (wild hare etc) I actually prefer my wild hare 1.20 edge with a saito 180

RE: Planes Plus 2.6M X-treme Composite Edge 540T?
I'm considering getting one of these... How does it compare to the comp arf 2.6 extra... Has anyone here actually flown both of them and can make the comparisons? I'm thinking a DA-100 with cans on either the comp-arf, or the edge. I'm not so much an IMAC flyer, but want a floter for slow high alpha rolls, and 3d stuff. Also had my eye on the 260 extra from wild hare... Would appricate any comparisons between these planes... I'm leaning twards the Edge, but would appricate others opionons.

RE: 1.20 Edge Review, the beginnings
Got a maiden, and Got 3 flights on mine today... Saito 1.80 pretty new running really rich... I had a Columbo Anderson 27% extra with a ZDZ 50 before, and the wild hare is a TON more fun to fly, and feels much lighter in the air! Floats way better, 3D's better, and my CA extra had the nasty tendency to snap with hard elevator input. I tried a Wall today on the wild hare and it did great! Also did, TRolls, Waterfall, Blender, Flat spins, Harrier, Rolling harier circles.... FUN PLANE! does everything really well... A tiny bit of elevator in KE but so little I probly won't mix it out... Saito 1.80 seems like a GREAT combo for this airplane!

RE: CA 27% extra
I put a Threaded hard point in the wing over the tube, and drilled a hole in one side of the tube, have a bolt that goes into the hole in the wing tube and locks it in place...

RE: CA 27% extra
CA extra is a way cool plane, I have about 2 dozen flights on mine. I'm running a zdz50. You'll need taller gear with a 22" prop, I used the patty wagstaff gear, and I still don't have enough height. Ballance it on the forward part of the wing tube. This is my first Giant Scale plane, and it's quite fun, but what I noticed is that rotations in spins or tumbles need to be corrected, you can't just let go of the controls and let the plane fly again like a fun-fly. I can actually do a rolling harier circle with this plane (WAY up high) but definatly the plane makes me look like a good pilot ;)

RE: Extra 330 Profile 3D Suitcase Plane - Hobby Lobby
Hmm, mine flys great, excellent 3d plane, I didn't think it was that pitch sensitive at all, I must have lucked out with the balance on mine... I'm gonna order a saftey backup of this plane ;) I saved the box for my extreme flight yak, so I'm gonna use it as a travel case. :) yah, they arn't the easiest to dissasemble and re-asemble, but it isn't too bad, only takes about 20 min

RE: Extra 330 Profile 3D Suitcase Plane - Hobby Lobby
Rudder authority is no problem on this guy. I put the Reciver inside the wing yah.... ESC is outside. Reciever and esc are on the oposite side of the battery for lateral balance. I had a 3d foamy flat wing plane, and I like the airfoiled style plane much better. Yep landing gear is needed where I fly (all paved) Let me know if you like it or not.

RE: Extra 330 Profile 3D Suitcase Plane - Hobby Lobby
WOW I'm impressed with this little guy! Got in 4 flights before the rain today. I got it to replace the EF yak-55sp and was nervous that it wouldn't match up to the EF. It flys even better!!!! ROCK SOLID, EXTREMLY ROCK SOLID in a harier, and tracks much straighter in regular flight than the EF-yak. It's 1oz or so heavier, mine's about 16oz and my EF was 15oz. I really like the way the elevator and rudder servos are mounted in the back, it helps the plane balance better. plane doesn't flex as much, and feels more solid than the EF-yak (probly why it's 1oz more). I'm using hitec HS-55's and electron-6 reciever. AXI 2212/32 and TP 1320 3s batteies apc 11x4.7 prop. I'm super happy with this combo, pullout isn't extreme in a hover, but it's definatly there (especially on the first 5 min of a charge). I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS PLANE!

RE: What competes with the YAK 55SP-E?
I just got the Mini extra 300 from hobby-lobby. It beats the EF yak! I was doubtfull at first (before I flew it), but this is the best flying plane I have now! I was gonna get another EF yak sp-55 but they are all sold out! ROCK solid in harrier hover! I mean ROCK SOLID! I'm gonna order a bakup before it sells out!

RE: Extra 330 Profile 3D Suitcase Plane - Hobby Lobby
I just ordered mine. I'm using a 2212/34 AXI wanted to get another extreme flight mini yak sp55 (my old one RIP!) but extreme flight is sold out, and their voicemail is full! This one looked exactly the same as the EF yak. 2208 might not be enough for hovering pull-out, if its anything like my old yak. the 2212 was a nice setup, not balistic, but very fun none the less.

RE: New Columbo Anderson 27% post
Balance it on the forward edge of the wing tube. It gets VERY snappy if the CG is aft. I wouldn't go much further aft than on the tube. Mine was snapping with too much rudder! Put a big ol honkin' 8oz spinner on the front of mine, and now it flys like a dream. hovers at 1/4 throttle, the zdz50 is stupid power.
