Tiger tanks roster
I hears that military historians (in Germany, or somewhere else) have kept track of almost every Tiger I tank ever built as to its short history, where it fought, where it died... Anyone knows where to find this info?

RE: Is it me, or are there a lot of Canadians on these boards?
There are many Canadians here because we have a lot of snow. And what better environment to drive RC tanks than snow?! Snow is: [ul] [*] Clean [*] Cools down the motors and batteries [*] Can be found anywhere - even backyard [*] Can be very challenging to drive in. [/ul]

RE: New VSTanks owner
ORIGINAL: tidal IÂ just wanted to say hi and that I became an VSTank owner last weekend. IÂ got a Tiger IÂ for my birthday from my parents. IÂ love it but have always had my heart set on the tamiya, too expensive though. IÂ got the Mid Production Winter camo version and have been reading up on it here. The only thing IÂ am really looking for are some metal tracks to help with the outdoors as my grass keeps taking off the tracks. Any ideas? Found some for an early production but don't know if it is compatible. My plan is to get one of the new 2010 VSTanks hopefuly they will have an updated Tiger I sounds, IÂ really love the tamiya sounds and the authenticity of them.
Any metal tracks will work, both early and late. They are out of stock now, people bought them, but hopefully they will be in stock soon.

What's the ground clearance (in mm or inches) of VsTank Sherman or VsTank KV-2? Can anyone measure? I wanna get one that I know will be good in the snow :)
ORIGINAL: 9sec240 I was at iHOBBY and I did not see a single one flying. I will be back there tomorrow and will make it a point to see if any are flying. I know that Horizon had some in their booth but I did not see any flying in their screened in area.
Great, thanks! Also, can you ask them when will they ship? I know it says December but people there probably have more up-to-date info.
ORIGINAL: rva1945 I asked Toyeast and they answered ''rubber tracks''.
That's because ToyEast has fairly high turnover of staff and not all of then know the difference. RE: My Tiger in the snow!
ORIGINAL: rva1945 Thanks, my concerns arise because there's the VSTANK pro Tiger I Early and the plastic tread set available as separate products. Is it the new VSTANK Tiger that comes with plastic tracks, instead of the old one with rubber tracks? This is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/VSTANK-PRO-1-24-RC-TANK-AIRSOFT-TIGER-I-EARLY-GREY_W0QQitemZ330364504083QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Vehicles?hash=item4ceb424813 can you tell if it comes with plastic or rubber tracks? I will order it from Argentina and it wil be a ''tragedy'' to get it with rubber tracks. Thanks Robert
All the VsTank Tigers (Early, Mid, Late) have always came with hard plastic tracks. Even Marui did. Rubber tracks for either one of them simply don't exist. So you are safe to order :)

RE: VStank hard tracks
ORIGINAL: rva1945 I need to know whether the VSTANK Pro 1/24 Tiger I Early (shoots BB) comes with individual plastic links or rubber tracks, I want the plastic tracks one. I guess they come with rubber tracks and the plastic tracks is an option offered separately. Or I am wrong? http://cgi.ebay.com/VSTANK-PRO-1-24-RC-TANK-AIRSOFT-TIGER-I-EARLY-GREEN_W0QQitemZ390083215011QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Vehicles?hash=item5ad2c57ea3 What makes me think is the fact that the plastic tracks is an option: http://cgi.ebay.com/VSTANK-PRO-1-24-TIGER-I-EARLY-VERSION-PLASTIC-TREAD-SET_W0QQitemZ330362677954QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Vehicles?hash=item4ceb266ac2 I wouldn't want to order it and get the rubber tracks version. Thanks Robert
All VsTanks Tigers (Early, Mid, Late) have always came only with plastic tracks. There were never any rubber tracks for it. I honestly don't know why they sell spare plastic tracks. Maybe because they sell all the other spare parts.

RE: My Tiger in the snow!
ORIGINAL: rva1945 I want one of those 1/24 airsoft RC tanks. The choices are Tokyo Marui or VSTank Pro. Do voth come with rubber or plastic individual links tracks? I guess the VS comes with rubber tracks and you have to get the plastic ones as spare parts. Nice vid. Robert
Get the VsTank Tiger! Forget Marui. The VsTank Tiger comes with plastic tracks. It costs less then Marui and it actually runs a lot better, the controller is better. Marui are not made anymore for so many years and the factory that used to make them has been making VsTanks since 2006.

RE: HL Tiger 1 Arrives from Mato today and..
ORIGINAL: mrunktonkey <div style=''margin: 0in 0in 0pt''>Thank you for the thoughts. The totality of it all did sorta overwhelm me a bit. That + the philosophical issue of perpetuating mediocre quality control at HL by onsite consumer repair and replacement. That gun mechanism was installed wrong from the get go and was easily recognizable without even powering up the tank. The bent motor bracket much less so after assembly. <div style=''margin: 0in 0in 0pt''> <div style=''margin: 0in 0in 0pt''>In a factory environment, running functional checks on these tanks can’t be more than a 90 second chore and would reduce their return rate by a huge amount. Shipping damage is the other major cause for returns and HL appears to have that under control from what I’ve seen so far.    <div style=''margin: 0in 0in 0pt''> <div style=''margin: 0in 0in 0pt''>Flaccid QA at HL hurts everyone… HL, the retailers and the hobbyists and that’s really too bad. Sometimes I wonder if we’re not our own worst enemies.. we fix things HL should have caught giving HL the notion their build quality is much better that what’s actual. Hardly the impetus that’s going to promote improvement at HL is it?   <div style=''margin: 0in 0in 0pt''> <div style=''margin: 0in 0in 0pt''>Cheers, Bob
I guess now I know why each VsTanks Pro are so reliable.
ORIGINAL: JerB hey there guys I got my tiger and sherman today and there quite cool little tanks, there seems to be more detail on the tiger then the sherman but still its nice to have a RC sherman. Also like it was mentioned here there are two sticks each one controlling a track. They ran fine on the kitchen floor but seems like they were slipping and sliding, and on the carpet in the basement they seem to struggle. You also get some spare tracks links with both tanks also. I have tried to upload the pics I took here but keep getting a error code?
Thanks for the info JerB! Anything more you can add? Can you make a video? Are you going to open up the tank and see if you can disable the slipper clutch?
ORIGINAL: whosurdaddy Hey condor, I am interested in getting the mid prod tiger tank from vstank. So aside from the winter camo, you're saying the road wheels are different from the late prod version? Any other differences? Warren
No other differences. ToyEast Mid Production Tiger is basically a Late Production Tiger with wheels from Early production. So all I did was bought yellow Late Production Tiger, bought spare set of Early Yellow wheels and replaced them. You can do the other way around. Buy white Mid Production Tiger and put the wheels from Late Production (paint them in white). Remember, you can buy spare parts, like wheels, from VsTank.com if you register as VsClub (it is free). Then the shipping is free!
ORIGINAL: beesknees Thanks for the memory foam offer, Tim, but I think I`ll have this noise problem solved shortly....if I could just get this little beast apart ! lol Gentlemen, I have the VSTank 1/24th scale late production Tiger, and I cant get the deck off the hull. I`ve removed the 3 screws on both sides that were above the roadwheels and the one screw that was at the front underside of the hull. So thats 7 screws I`ve taken out and this little beast seems as solidly together as ever. What am I missing ? Thanks guys ! Barry
Nope, you are not missing anything. 3 screw on the side, one on the front lower hull. Then just pull it hard, they tend to stick. I have 11 Tigers and removed hulls in all of them, trust me, you won't break anything. Just be sure to put it back fully too. And be sure the orange wire from antennae is not jammed when you put it back.
