RE: Advise please? Thunder Tiger GP65 low end adjustment
After tuning the hi spd needle, rough adjust the air bleed needle,by inserting a straight pin into the air bleed hole. Tighten the air bleed needle. 'til it just drags on the pin. Readjust the hi spd needle, then idle the engine to what you like. Let the engine idle for about 45 seconds and note engine speed. If it slowly goes down, it is too lean. Adjust the air bleed needle counter clockwise a small amount. Repeat this test 'till engine idles good, for 45 seconds. If the engine stumbles on acceleration, turn the air bleed needle clockwise. Good luck, red

RE: How to install a kill switch in a 6ch setup that uses already a dual elevator???
I guess I didn't make my post clear. No need to buy a reversed servo. You can simply reverse the servo arm (remove and rotate the arm 180 deg.) on one of the servos. Sometimes the geometry is OK, but, to do it correctly, you must have the center of each arm and the control horn in the same horizontal plane. Good luck, red

You can also mount one servo higher or lower than the opposite and invert to work in the same direction. Good luck, red

RE: GAS EQUIVALENTS TO GLOW ENGINES?
The formula I use is 1 cubic inch is equal to 17 cubic centimeters plus ten percent. So, if you had a 2.0 glow, it would convert to 2x 17cc, + 10% = appx37.5cc, round off to 40cc. Hope this helps. red

RE: Cloister of a 3w 50i
The next time it won't start, (hopefully never) after several tries, pull the plug. If wet= ignition trouble. If dry=fuel trouble. Concentrate on the particular trouble. Good luck, red

RE: Ignition problem, switch promlem or something else?
I still swear by WD-40, but with a caveat. My procedure is to spray the part, operate it several times and then wipe off excess. Did that in telecommunication industry for 43 years and retirement for 16. You just can't beat that fish oil ; why it's even good for your heart :o) Keep smiling, it confuses 'em, red

RE: Ignition problem, switch promlem or something else?
It amazes me that we don't have a lot more trouble with the switches we use. I've taken some apart, and they are a simple slide contact. Your problem is probably caused by setting idle, and the contacts corroded slightly. Can you say WD-40. Good luck, red

RE: Ignition problem, switch promlem or something else?
Simple to check if there is a voltage drop in the switch. Place a voltmeter across the input and output of the switch. If there is a drop you will get a reading. If no reading, no drop. Good luck, red

RE: Engine surging at wot, any ideas?
Try spraying WD-40 around the carb base, throttle shaft and insulator, at medium speed. Might be a air leak, and this test should make it surge. Good luck, red

Using lipo batteries
I recently read a statement that said you should not store a fully charged lipo for more than a few hours. The claim was made that doing so will cause them to swell. It said the battery voltage should be reduced to 3.75v per cell, if being stored more than a few hours. I know that I and probably all members of my club (cape coral seahawks) probably keep our lipos in a fully charged state and may not use them for a week or more. Any thought or evidence on this claim? Thanks, red

RE: Thunder Tiger F-91S low speed needle default setting
Set the barrel, so you just see a sliver of opening. Put a short piece of fuel line on the inlet barb, then close the lo-spd needle while blowing on the short piece of fuel line. When air passage stops, adjust the needle back out 'til you can just get an airflow. This will put you close. The rest is fine tuning. Good luck, red

Folks, why not do away with the o-ring. simply use a piece of large fuel tubing between the valve and body. Seals great and does away with the rachet. I have used this method and it works good. Good luck, red

RE: BATTERY FIX ! How To Rebalance Lipo's
Nice solution. You don't need a diode or LED, you can use an incandescent (6v)as well. After discharging a cell make sure you test the cell being drained the same as the others. In other words if you test the drained cell with the LED in place you must also test the other cells the same way. As to how do you check a battery with more than two cells, you just move the test leads as a set on the balance plug, one test point at a time. Say you start with the black balance lead and the next lead is white. This is the first cell from the neg. side of the battery. To test the rest of the cells, just move the leads both together one test point at a time( second cell would have the neg test lead on the white and the pos test lead on the next color, continue to end) Hope this makes sense and good luck. red

RE: blade 400 servo hookup
Thanks again for the followup. The receiver I'm using is compatible with the Futaba 72mz. As I stated I can get some control, but with the motor disconnected and checking the head movement, it is not as it should be. I will ask at the field today for some help. Thanks. red

RE: blade 400 servo hookup
Tried the hookup per instructions, no joy. The only control that works OK is the elevator. I think I need to get some info on programming the transmitter first and then do the receiver. I'll check at the field and see if I can find someone familiar with Futaba. Thanks again, red
