Saito gas engine mounts
I have an fg-17 and the fg-14b. I have the fg-17 mounted on a plane with a nylon mount because the metal mount included won't work unless I rebuild the firewall at a different measurement because the included metal mount doesn't allow for any adjustments. Is it okay to use these Saito gassers with a Great Planes nylon mount? Thanks, Jason

RE: NEW HANGAR 9 CHRISTEN EAGLE
I would like opinions from you guys that have this plane. I am going to make this my next plane. I have been thinking about engine choices of an OS .91 Fx with a Pitts muffler or a Saito fg-21. Anybody have any thoughts?

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 ARF fuel tank needed
No, this tank is very easy to remove and replace. Just remove the main wing and it's right there. Just slides out.

Does anyone have a factory original tank that they are not using? The one in my plane split and I need a replacement. Thanks.

RE: Saito FG-17 tuning question
You are right, 14x8 is the minimum recommended prop, but I am sure with that prop I will still be over the recommened rpm.

Saito FG-17 tuning question
This is my first gas four stroke engine (actually first four stroke for that matter) and the instructions give a ground rpm range of 2000-9500. I am using a K series 14x6, high speed needle is out 1.25 turns per manual and it runs excellent except I am nearing 11000 rpm at full throttle. I only did this once because of the fear of over revving it. Are the high speed needles on four strokes, whether gas or glow, supposed to be adjusted not to exceed the rpm range (9500 in this case)? Or should they be adjusted similiar to a two stroke and back off a little after reaching max rpm?

RE: OS 46FX problem - see pics
Do Thunder Tiger .46 pro liners fit the os 46fx? I understand that Magnum xls 46 and ASP 46 liners will work. Any others?

RE: OS 46FX problem - see pics
Do just the OS FX series engines have this problem or is it all OS nickel plated liners no matter what engine it is? I am looking to buy some more engines soon and I like OS, but this might make me look at other brands.

I jumped on Hobbyking and checked it out. Is it the S46M set you bought? Did you use your OS piston or just used the conrod and pin and installed them on the ASP piston?

Yes, you are correct. It is actually nickel and not chrome. Anyone have a sleeve they want to sell?

OS 46FX problem - see pics
I have an OS 46FX and lately it doesn't turn over as freely as it did a few months ago. It will still run but I am afraid to run it because I don't want to cause any further damage. I broke in the engine properly and run it on the rich side and never leaned out. I removed the cylinder head and look what I found. I bought this engine new several years ago and just started using it last summer and here are only about a dozen or so flights on it. It appears the chrome lining is flaking off for some reason. Why?

RE: Saito FG-21 OLD PROBLEMS FIXED???
I have an FG-17 and it has the RCEXL ignition. My FG-17 runs like a watch and is a very clean running engine. If the new 21 is anything like the 17, it will be a great engine. I want to get the 21 evetually and put it in a H9 Christen Eagle.

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 ARF
I know its a pain in the rear working on those flaps. It took me several hours to get them hooked up and working right but they both have the exact same throw and movement. I would try your Futaba servos and see how that works for you. Just verify that horns are at the same angle, links are the same lenth, and the same control horn holes are used. As long as all those items are the same, the problem is probably the servo's throw. Good Luck.

Question for you gassers out there. I am thinking about waiting for the new Saito FG-21 to put on this plane, but had a question about placement of the ignition box. Where did you guys install the ignition box?

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 ARF
I did a lot of research before I bought the FG-17 and from what I understand it has almost identical power to the FA-100. The recommended props for the FG-17 are larger than for the FA-100. Hopefully someone will chime that has this engine and see what they say. Hopefully this engine will work for me.

RE: Top Flite Cessna 182 ARF
Hello, I am relatively new to Rcuniverse and this forum. I have read almost every page of this forum and was looking for some info on engine size for the Cessna 182 ARF. Minimum four stroke recommended by TF is a 91. I have a Saito 82 four stroke that I need to use. Would that engine be enough power for this plane? Anyone with experience with this engine/plane combo? Thanks.
