RE: KMP Bf-110 Nothing like Twins
Concept urethane paint from PPG is single stage automotive paint that is very durable and fuel proof it also requires no clearcoat its an activated paint and acts much like epoxy paint but is much easier to spray and clean up

RE: KMP Bf-110 Nothing like Twins
Kahloq If you bring the fuse to a local PPG jobber they can thae a picture of the colors with a special camera they have and make the formulas you need on the 110. I have had exellent results doing this on some of my stuff. I use Concept single stage. It can be mixed as flat as you need it, is very durable and sprays good through an airbrush.you should be able to blend out the wasp without to much trouble. Hope this will help Tim

RE: KMP Bf-110 Nothing like Twins
I am far from a scale nut and am not trashing the quality of present arf's or turning this into a discussion on their quality.I'm actually quite happy with them,I also like this 110.My only point is that on a comparitive scale of the arfs from most of the popular makers I fail to see why KMP's prices are as high as they are.I like many of their offerings but am also a wise shopper. If there is something I dont like about an ARF I will change it or live with it.You seem to take way to much offense to anybody saying anything even slightly negitive about KMP. I'm happy with the planes I've gotten from CMP and see little differance in Quality from KMP. The BF109 I bought from CMP in my opinion looks much better than KMP's . MY OPINION AND THATS ALL.If KMP's planes were more reasonably priced I would be a customer. My 109 is powered by an RCV120SP it cost me 379.95 If I bought the same engine from KMP at 439.95 would it be a better engine,I'm sure some of the people on this site would say YES. Thats up to you.But as for me I'm done with this school yard mine is better than yours mentality. If you like what you paid for good for you and best of luck with it. No hard feelings on my part and hope none on yours. Good flying Tim

Im with Evil, nice plane but just to expensive. I'll wait untill CMP comes out with it for 1/2 to 1/3 the price and get one then. They're probably all made in the same place anyway.

RE: CMP 160 sized Texan
Still trying to make century retracts work. The only thing worse than their fit is their support.I screwed up BIG not getting sierra's but to late now century dosen't want to here it.I'm sure I'll get them to work, but what a waste of time. The amount of grinding and rebuilding on the wing is unbelievable. If I ever think about Century retracts again sombody please kick me in the cyber @ss!

RE: CMP 160 sized Texan
Started fitting my century jet retracts this week on my texan. got a big suprise! These are as much a drop in as if I threw them at the plane and they fit. After reeming out the center wing to get the struts in took a break for christmas. Started agian yesterday, found out the wing mounts would take a lot of modifying to fit the retract mounts. Holes were not even close. Wheels hang down way below the wings and all in all look real sloppy. I guess you get what you pay for. This is my first set of Century retracts and if this is what they sell it will be my last. I'll keep trying to make them work and see what happens, but for anyone else you might want to look somewhere else.

Can the cylinder be rotated 180 deg onthe gf26i to place the exhaust on the opposite side,I would imagine piston would also have to be turned.

Does anyone have experience with using Klotz tecniplate oil in these engines. I used it with great sucess when I raced 100cc Yamaha carts ,when I was much younger and less brittle-but I still like the smell

RE: ed New Here
I havent seen anybody mention the Nexstar RTF from Hobbico, Probably the best entry level trainer that could be had. It includes a simulator and with wing extensions and air brakes installed is probably the most forgiving and easy to learn on trainer on the market. I speak from experiance, I was taking off and landing on my own after only a couple of sessions with a buddy box. Once the training gear is taken off its a pretty brisk flier able to do mild aerobatics. making my first experiences very satisfying. I have advanced into other planes now but still like to take out the Nexstar and buzz around a little. Tower Hobby has the complete setup listed at $399 not including their christmas sale.

Hey all I just got off the phone with Century Jet. Called to find out why their retracts for CMP AT6 was $110 more than for Midwest AT6. Turns out price was misprint and should be $290[;)] not $400[:'(] and its complete with air system. Ordered a set today so well see how they work out. Tim

RE: Brian Taylor Bf109E-4 build
Would like to use a three blade and like the 4c sound so clearance shouldnt be a problem. I use a 3 blade 16x6 Xoar on a Great planes stuka with a fa100 and it flies great even though I've been told by experts it wont work.

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
It looks on their website that it is started with a long driveshaft about 1/4 in around.I could live with trying to hide a 3/8 hole vs. having a 2 in hole in the bottom with a hunk of aluminum hanging out.The evo 26gx seems to hang out the least. Im not crazy about the weedwacker sound but all the 4c engines hang out way to far for me to live with.Even bought a Saito 200ti to try to fit,you ought to see the size of the hole that thing needs. Now I have a 750$ engine I need a plane for. Im at the point of putting the 109 aside untill i can come up with another plan.

RE: Brian Taylor Bf109E-4 build
Hi all found this forum doing a search of rcv engines and there seems to be a lot of imput on them here. Now to my question, would a 120 sp be usable in a 13lbs CMP BF 109. Its a shame they dont make the SP series in something larger

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD
Its a shame RCV dosent make a larger version of their inline , 150 to180 size would be great. With the 2:1 reduction would spin a nice scale prop. I could think of a lot of other planes it would fit in nicely also.
