The price is pretty good. We would like to see a picture of the camera comb. What brand is the camera? Could you please give the website of the company? Thanks.

RE: 1.0 gas engine
Thank you all for the information. I have MVVS 1.6. However, the 1.6 is overpowered for my plane. I hope find a 1.0 gas engine and the engine will be lighter than MVVS 1.6. It might be hard to find because MVVS 1.6 has good ratio of power to weight. Best Regards, CJ

RE: What motor system should I choose
Fritz: Thank you for those numbers. My plane is not a scale warbird. I might call they scout, which disigned by myself. I had four prototype planes. Two was crushed. Basically, they are two types. One take off weight is 14 - 16 lb and powered by ST G75. Another take off weight is 23 - 25 lb and powered by MVVS 1.6. No any aeraobatics is needed. I just want them to take off, climb, stable flying, turn and landing even both types are able to do loop and roll. The new one is still in building. the 15 - 16 lb is the designing take off weight. The plane actually weight wo/power system should be around 8 lb. I was thinking AXI 41 series or Hacker B or C50. Or MVVS 1.6 (over powered and viberation problem). Could you please tell me why do you recommended AXI? What is the LiPoly bettery life time (how many times can be recharged)? Do they have longer life time than NiMH? Best Regards, CJ

What motor system should I choose
I want to convert ST G75 glow engine to electric motor for my plane. The plane weighs about 15 lb and wing area is 1450 squre inch. I like to use smaller prop such as 14" or 16" in diameter. Also I hope to have 0.5 - 1 hour flying time. What motor system should I choose(motor, controller, battery...)? Any input will be greatfully appreciated.

RE: Motor running time
Hi! Bill: I was told by Hacker Brushless USA that the maximum time is 30 minutes for C50. I know that some electric plane can fly 2 -3 hours ( not those crossing Atlantic ocean). They might use different type motor. Do you think It will be OK to run a significantly extended period of time if the motor is exposed to the air (not in the plane) and the plane fly at 2/3 - 1/2 throat at most time during flying? I am not trying an endurance record. I just need a longer time to take aerial image. CJ

Hi! Pe: Is it any impact on the engine running or engine life if the fuel tank is 6 - 8 inch below the engine? Can MVVS 1.6 continuesly run 2 or 3 hours? Thanks. CJ

Motor running time
Can thoses large electric motors, Hacker B50 and C50, AXI 4130,etc. continuesly run for 1 or 2 hours? If not, what motor can do this? Thanks.

RE: Digital Camera
If you buy digital camera with manual shutter speed control, you might avoid the viberation problem by setting higher speed. During 1999, I took many good picture by using 35 mm camera (around $40) on my plane (with ST G40 engine). Later, I changed to digital camera on my plane (with ST G75) engine, I got good quality picture only engine was shut down. Recently, I used Canon AE-1 (heavy) and got good picture at higher speed.

Dan : Thank you for the information about Supercircuits system. The wider range is important for me, I may have no choice, but Supercircuits system. When you get further test information, I would like to read.

RE: Best quality video?
Hi! Dan: [Knowing what I know now, I wouldnt have purchased the Supercircuits system but would have purchased one of the Blackwidow systems instead. Or will in addition, probably. Havent given up in the 900mhz system but the signal reception is very disappointing]
Is it because of high cost of Supercircuits system or picture quality? [The Supercircuits 900mhz system holds a good signal as far out as I have flown it but is very touchy about flying over the antenna.]
If the plane did not fly over the antenna what about the picture quality, better or same as Backwidow system? Supercircuits system does have much bigger range than Blackwidow system, doesn't it? Thanks.

RE: mvvs 1.60 gasser
I used Master Airscrew 16 x 10 3 blades push prop for MVVS 1.6 engine, I forget what was the rpm(may be about 6000). The plane was about 23 lb and flying was good. No aerobatic since that is not my purpose. Now, my question is if 16 x 10 3 blades prop is proper for this little engine or not? I tried to find better one, but not many choice for pusher at this size. I only find and bought Zinger 18 x 6 and this 3 blades. Others are either too big or too small. By the way, it was difficulty to star the engine by hand. Most time I used starter to star the engine and no problem. Thanks

RE: Aerial Photography Product Survey
Hi! Ben: This is a very good idea. It will be even better if you rethink your disign direction. I tooked many ariel pictures (both regular and digital cameras) during past several years. The following are what I think. 1. set low end of shutter speed faster, say 1/125 or at least 1/60. 2. reduce the processing time after each shoot. 3. has universal connector to directly connect to receiver 4. no auto turn off 5. resolution between 2.0 to 3.0. 6. 50 or more pictures for each flying. 7. We don't need zoon, flash, and LCD picture screen if it can reduce the product cost by eliminating these functions. I like mini size, but I will not trade picture quality and main fuction with minisize. Actually, adding 4 , 5 oz on a 40 plane is not a problem. Plus you eliminated about 1.5 oz by directly conect the camera to receiver. I will buy if the price is around $150.

RE: Frequency question
[My Kadet Senior ARF is outfitted with that exact system. Honestly, the evil, wicked Spylinker system seems to perform better. Check my "KSA" videos for the Supercircuits video. The camera kicks ass. I definitely need to come up with a better antenna as the whip stinks. I bet 2 miles is possible with a yagi antenna.]
I hope this time I quote right. I was talking 'Supercircis AVX900S9-V 900 MHz wireless system' Do you think what is the major cause of the low quality video.

Frequency question
2.4 GHz are more efficiency than 900 MHz. e.g. for a given power output, 2.4 GHz has better range than 900 MHz. However, for moving target, you may see some breakup on 2.4 GHz system. 900 MHz might be ideal for R/C plane. Supercircuits sell a complete system, AVX900S9-V 900 MHz wireless color video system for $349.95 (was 499.95 last year). They claim" Up to 2 miles range and beyond' Is there anybody has experience with this system or any other their video system? What you guys think about Supercircuits' products? Thanks.
