Please move to traxxas monster truck forum!
I was at the lhs when a guy came in w/ a summit that didn't work. He said it had less than ten packs through it. So the worker told him the esc was probably bad and would cost over $100 to fix. So the guy said screw that, any you guys wanna buy it for $200. I offered $150 and he took it. I brought it home charged the batts and no signal to receiver. So I re-bound the tx to rx and bam, runs like a champ! Best $150 I ever spent!
ORIGINAL: TheKennyKiller I feel kinda bad for the previous owner, he sold it based on bad information and got ripped off. In saying that if he didn't act like a bull charging at an open gate he might have been able to find the source of the problem very easily and still have himself a Summit. So what are you going to do with it crazy nick, turn it over for a quick buck or join

trinity customer service?
I have a trinity revtech 4xs 4 pole 3800kv sensored motor. Recently when I pull full throttle the motor stops turning . I have to let all the way off again, then full, then sometimes it will go other times not. Pull sensor wire off and car is uncontrollably fast. So changed the motor to check esc. No problems. So my thoughts are bad sensor board. So I email trinity's customer support. 3 days not an answer. So now what? Can't find a sensor board at all. I was told by my racing buddies I have to send it in and trinity will fix it. However they don't get back to me. Is it worth anything to sell? I paid $165 for it I figure I could get $40 or $50 for a basher to run sensorless. Or how long do you think I should wait for trinity to get back at me?

traxxas summit or kyosho mad force ve
I have a spare tekin rx8/2650kv combo. So I'd like to take a break from racin and do a little bashing. I'm kinda leaning towards the kyosho just bc I've owned a few Revos but never had a Kyosho. But I do like the go slow factor of the Summit. So let me get some more opinions.

RE: trade?
Well he finally returned my email and said he sent 5 emails to me asking questions about what I was sending. I personally think he is stalling to ship till he receives my trade to make sure I hold up my end of the deal. But he should've just told me instead of beating around the bush. But atleast for now I don't have to open a claim.

RE: trade?
Yes I have called and left messages, text the #, and left numerous emails and nothing . When we originally spoke, he seemed like a real nice down to earth guy and his ratings have also proved to be of the same. I just don't want to be too pushy and find out something has happened then I'll feel like a jerk. Just don't know what to do.

RE: Upgrades for RC10T4.1?
T4 and 4.1 are the same except metal gears in 4.1 trans. Only thing I recommend is factory team shock shafts. And rpm ball cups. Other than that upgrade as and if it breaks.

RE: MMP and Tekin 6.5
Try it without the sensor wire hooked up. Sounds like the motor could have a bad board.

RE: New buggy
That is an aristo-craft hitec dolphin same as the kangaroo. Oon ebay in your condition, would easily bring $200. Vintage and very hard to find. Also sought after by collectors bc they only were made for a year or two. Find the wing and original electronics ans would be worth more than $300. DO not run and ruin it. Sell it to someone like myself and buy a cheap Tamiya lol!

A ton of torque but comes in very smooth. It also sounds nothing like a typical brushless motor.

I take my duratrax onyx 235 charger to the races every Sunday . Well from the months of abuse( travel and dust) my fan in the charger is starting to crap out. Any ideas where I can get one? Or should I just call duratrax myself and ask them?
ORIGINAL: jacked103 what would you choose and why/ the LRP ix8 <a title=''best esc provider in LA '' href=''http://www.rcuniverse.com/buynow/keywordclick.cfm?bid_id=5300'' rel=''nofollow'' target=''_blank'' style=''border-bottom: black 1px dashed; background-color: transparent; color: black; text-decoration: none''>esc and motor combo of the tekin rx8 combo
Before this year I would've recommended the tekin. However Since the start of this race season, we have seen a rash of bad rx8's.. 8 were brand new and didn't even turn on. So that confirms it was not just operator overgearing or anything. However I have one in my buggy w/ 2650kv with no problems that I received just before the rash so we may have just gotten a bad batch. And yes tekin did stand good for the brand new ones, but saw a few with bad bec's in which they (tekin) did not. Just my .02

RE: Set ups
I second the Orion system. They are made by KO propo and are TOP of the line. I see many problems with the tekin rx8. The orion is big but flawless! 2 2s lipos in series is the way to go. 4s lipis take forever to charge and tend to not tske abuse. I am an avid racer and have seen dizens of setups and problems. Trust what I say.

I personally didn't like the pbs. I liked the knuckles better. Kept stripping the arms where the balls threaded in.
