RE: Official NITRO RUSTLER thread!!
Yea it's got big bores on it. I plan on using evader shocks in the future. I am using a steel braid cover kit that I bought off of ebay (steel braid and shrink tubing) it was like $6 or something ridiculous like that. I plan on doing a thorough cleaning tomorrow and will get you some better pic's & possibly some measurements.

RE: Official NITRO RUSTLER thread!!
I have had the shiny MIP cvd's for about six months now and haven't had a single problem. There are spacers to help set them up right and I can imagine if you don't use them you would have problems. I have not seen any others made for the Rusty.

RE: Which one? XTM X-Cellerator, Duratrax Evader ST GP, or Traxxas Nitro Rustler
I think what we are trying to say is they are all good. You may have a tougher time finding hop-up's and part's for the xtm but from what I understand they are making more hop-up's for it all the time but it is still a relatively new truck. Check with your LHS and see what they carry for part's and what manufactures they support and go with that. Otherwise you'll be waiting about a week for part's.

RE: Truck moves when I idle
ORIGINAL: breakin2 I have a Factory Team GT and I'm running an O.S. CVR .12. I can't get the thing to idle properly because it always moves a little bit when my throttle is at neutral. I've messed with the idle screw and the throttle/ break linkage and I can't figure it out. Any ideas?
The spring activation in the MIP 4in1 clutch works like a stall converter allowing the engine to hit the usable power quicker. with the stock clutch engaged all the time when you get on the throttle the engine labors more to get the car going.(I still don't know why they don't have some kind of spring assist, that blow's my mind.) where as the MIP 4in1 clutch engages at a higher rpm making you much faster out of the turns and off the line[>:]. You guy's need it if you wanna keep up with me[:)] And it's always nice to have a car that will sit and idle.

RE: 1/8 scale VS stadium truck!
I would never recommend a nitro buggy to a beginner. They are much more difficult to work on and set up right. Get started with a nice ST, hop up the @#$% out of it then when you get bored sell it and move up to a buggy. I would recommend a Rustler, but I am somewhat bias [8|]. You can get a new RTR for under $300. To me it's all about $=MPH, you cant beat a rustler for a first time nitro car. A RC10GT is also a good choice. check your LHS and see what manufacture they have parts for and go for it.

RE: os 18 cvrx
The O.S. .18 CV-R is relatively new. There won't be many people that have had them long enough to know how well they run. If the .12's & .15 are any benchmark than it will be great horsepower for the dollar. The O.S. is easily $100 less than the HPI SPECIFICATIONS Displacement: 0.18 cu in (3.0cc) Bore: 0.629 in (16.0mm) Stroke: 0.590 in (15.0mm) RPM Range: 3,000 – 32,000 Output: 1.35 bhp @ 28,000 rpm Weight: 10.4 oz (296g)

RE: Traxxas Nitro hawk Engine HELP
I would start here, [link=http://www.traxxas.com/support/legacy_models.htm]Traxxas legacy support page[/link]. Look up the model numbers for part's on Tower Hobbies web site to see if they are still available. From what I saw it doesn't look like traxxas offered any hop up part's. As far as the engine goes you may want to take it to your LHS and see if they will do a traxxas lifetime engine trade. I think you can end up with a trx .15 for around $75 or a 2.5 for a $100. Maybe you can get a good combo price for the electric start but you will need a good 7.2v battery and charger as well so all together your might be looking at between $150 to $200. Good luck and have fun[sm=thumbup.gif]

RE: Official NITRO RUSTLER thread!!
ORIGINAL: jjrey1 you guys , who have problems steering the rustler? well....sorry to be rude, but learn how to drive!!! don't watch your truck, look ahead of it, like 10 feet, to see whats coming up! and prepare and respond as needed, my rusty , or at least when i am driving it has no steering problem. you just need to remember to scale down and look ahead. its a fast truck thats small , scale down all your thinking, look ahead of the truck, anticipate the terrain ahead and you should do fine, remeber in scale speeds , this truck is probally doing over 90 mph!!! , if not faster!!! not a lot of time to think
We all truly appreciate your advise but apparently you haven't been in a race where a AE or a Losi blow by you in the turn. It's a fact that the Rustler in stock trim does not handle as well as other manufactures. That said it can be made to handle good but not great. I think that most of use here know we need to slow down before we turn but thank's again for the advise [8|].
