RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
ORIGINAL: catbutt Greetings all! I have been busily reading this massive thread ( Im on 135 in a week) doing research on what car to get. I have a friend with a Revo and another with a highly modded E Maxx. We run em almost exclusively at the beach 2 miles from my house, where there are many perfect sized dunes to jump. We use them mostly to fly, and since its sand, I am more interested in low end torque and acceleration than speed. I used this thread to research the MT2, which I thought would be the perfect truck for what we use em for. Its light, quick, geared well, and fairly durable, according to the forum consensus. I got mine yesterday, did the diff shimming after work, and got her ready to go for the next days break in and first runs on the beach. After work today, 3PM, I went to an area near my house, paved and long, for the break in. It was smooth as silk. I had absolutely the most trouble free engine break in Ive ever had. It started instantly almost every time, with a mere snap on the roto button. The roto worked well, no complaints thus far. After i had her broke in, I headed to the beach for some fun. I took it easy at first, but at the end I was hitting the 45* vertical dune which we routinely get 10-15 high backflips with the Revo. I only used half speed (scarred), even still she hit 10, no flip, and landed like a feather (5 pounds lighter than the Revo or E Maxx.) The MT2 was so nimble both on the ground and in the air, I have never been so happy with an RC anything. Thanks so much for all of your help and great postings, you helped me to pick a superb truck for what I intend to use it for. I cant imagine a vehicle handling any better. Now to get a new pipe, air filter and some mashers! I cant wait to get out there again tomorrow. See you all again soon. Thanks again.
your welcome[:D]
ORIGINAL: 46u Just went to HPI US web site and the instruction manual is on it for the MT2 RTR. Unfortunately with HPI US web site you cannot post a link directly to the page only the home page but I assure you they have it. Yep the RTR comes with the 12th CB. I and I am sure most others will recommend up grading to the MUCH better CB and bearing set up like comes on the SS. Or better yet get the vented race CB. Good Luck.
hmmmm.. thats akward cause mine came with a 13 teeth clutch bell
