RE: AKM SU-27 Flanker-Does Look Good
Hi Guys, im almost done with the balsa work on the fuselage, i just installed the engine, by the way, i went a bit crazy with the power setup, it has a O.S. 91 VR-DF, yeap, a little to much but im going to fiberglass the entire aircraft, I also put 3mm rods for elevator and rudder and im planing to use robart hinges on all surfaces. since im going to have a lot more weight on the nose, im planning to use separated servos for rudder, i went with hi tork for elev and ail, and thats all for now... here is a picture of the engine, after i fiberglass the aircraft and installed the engine, im going to make the engine hole smaller, i had to do it that big, because of the size of the engine and because the carb is in the rear. let me hear your comments!

RE: AKM SU-27 Flanker-Does Look Good
I receive my plane yesterday!!! ive never been so happy to see a box full of bolsa and plywood [:D] i was thinking of using a O.S. 91vr Ducted fan engine on my su27 but the thing is that the rear exhaust kinda mess up everything, i dont know where im gonna put the pipe, my other choice is a 91fx with the jett-Stream muffler.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
I sanded the wood engine base for about 5deg of down thrust, and the plane flew very well, with no problems, i had to make the hole in the back of the fuselage a bit bigger to make room for the starter but nothing huge. about climbing with power i think it didint. i have to dbl check with the pilot =P

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
More Pics. I replaced the stock CA Hinges with robarts, also made the falps to deflect about 75 deg. for using it as speedbrakes since the P-70 has more thrust on idle, used Futaba digital on all flying surfaces except on rudds that i used JR minis non digital, i change the servos conector for 6 pin multiplex to reduce the number of connections on the wing and to provide a more secure connection, to use the engine mount provided in the kit in the P-70 configuration you need to use it inverted as shown in the pictures.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
about the speed i really dont know but i must say that you need to manage the throttle very well, since your having more than 5lbs of extra thrust, at mid stick will fly in a reasonable speed.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
Here are a few pictures of the build process for a falcon 120 with a P-70, we flew it last sunday and it was like a rocket. we did some hi-G turns and the plane seems to handle it. we have another falcon 120 with a P-60 in our field, and the diference betwen both aircraft are the flight time and speed, p-70 is a bit faster but is limitted to 6 or 7 min of flying with a 2 litters tank, we have a 2nd tank in the plane that was for smoke but now we are thinking on using it for fuel.
