RE: Redcat Quality ...........
And by the way, if you go to HPI's forum and make the topic "HPI SUCKS" and rage about breaking things, you won't get a massive flame thread with people being super defensive about their cheap shitty chinese RCs. They actually try to help you.

RE: Redcat Quality ...........
I've already quoted my story so many times that I will just remind you. Again, leave the threads alone, you can't convince anyone anything and does it really matter anyway? Kill the topic.

NEED ENGINE HELP PLEASE!
Hey, I was just sealing up my engine and realized I had no idea about the alignment of the piston and rod. I have one of the older VX .18s. One side of the connecting rod has that groove for oil (presumably). Which side of the engine does that face? The carb side or the backplate side? I'm guessing the carb side because of more direct flow but yeah. The other question was about the piston, it's got a hole in the side, again probably for lubing. Looking from the backplate side into the case, is the hole on the right or the left? Thanks... I probably should have been more observant when I took it apart...

The two speed was the only part on my Tornado that didn't break. Now you wanna talk about tempermental, think about the Savage's three speed. [:@]

RE: bulletproof diffs?
Isn't it possible just to swap out the ones that come with the diffs (HD) with the ones he already has? I don't see any issues with that....??

RE: bulletproof diffs?
But if you get them off ebay you get a better value, as you get the HD diff shafts and casings for the same price as a BP diff without all that from a store. Just get the ebay ones, and take em apart and install your existing diff cups.

RE: NEED ENGINE HELP PLEASE!
Also, the usual process of heating up the engine and then smacking it on wood until the inside bearing pops out, and then using a screwdriver to pop the front one out isn't working. Is there some special way to do this with the VX engines or are they just impossible to get the bearings out....?

RE: Redcat is crap uh?
Lets put it this way. If they had a place where you could buy parts with better plastic quality and stuff I would love RedCat, it would be just like upgrading a KM baja - put good parts on it when it breaks. I think that would be a serious thing if someone made clone redcat parts out of good plastic, like RPM plastic. The more I think about it there are only a couple things that really gave me trouble on my Tornado Dogbones bending and twisting Tires wearing at insane speeds Shock towers bending Pull start failing, OWB slipping (but thats same as all cars) So if they offered thick plastic shock towers I would be golden. Bigger dogbones would be good, all of mine are twisted to the max. Fixing those issues would make the Tornado a pretty damn reliable buggy... for $180!

Is it doing wheelies? Well no matter, your LSN seems to rich, assuming the smoke lessens at full throttle.

RE: New engine for Tornado S30?
A new engine would probably be a bad idea: twisting dogbones, stripped gears, and other bad things would most likely be the result.

RE: Redcat is crap uh?
Wow.... rage..... That came out wrong. Seriously came out wrong... I didn't really mean to start a rage war, and I am comparing the 1/8s and the Caldera (only 1/10 not based off HSP chassis) to the Savage, and they come out fairly faverably, that said, to a $400 RC and a $200-$250 rc. I wasn't saying they were CRAP really... Look, how about we pretend I was never here? Just one thing... If I were to buy another RC it would be one of the Redcat 1/8 Hurricane.
