Dehaviland Beaver (DH2) Is this what I want?
Even a short caravan on floats is going to be well over the 1 mill mark, but if I had the cash thats the way I'd go.I fly a grand caravan on floats, besides a super otter, nothing compares.A 206 might be a little small for what your looking.I think the beaver is going to be your best bet, might even be able to find a turbine beaver.

Totally stumped,H9 1.20 cap flying weird!!!!!
Luckily I already had the 5645's on hand, the project they were destined for was sold so it all worked out in the end.

whoops, sorry for never posting the end results.I did replace the servos with 5645's and it helped, but I would still get some weird motions from the airplane.I range checked several times and never found a problem.I figured I would move the antennae to the outside of the airplane, when doing so I found a split about 4 inches from the end of the wire, looks like there was some intermittent contact between the broken pieces of wire.Fixed the antennae and now everything is back to being super fine. That was a new one for me.

Hanger Nine Cap 232
I've always mounted the servos up front, unless you've got a heavy gasser in the nose you'll be tail heavy with the servos in the tail.

Hanger Nine Cap 232
I've had three of them. They are excellent airplanes.I would repair it if it's not alot of work.Hangar 9 no longer produces them, but you can still find them for sale on ebay and other forums.I've used saito 1.80's on mine.A friend had a os 1.60 on his, both give the airplane unlimited vertical. If you do a search on some of the forums you will find an incredible amount of info on the airplane.

Building the PC9
The tape and plastic is just to keep things clean. Before you add any glue at all,run tape along the edges where it looks the the epoxy would ooze out when you squeeze it together,I just wrap the wing panels in plastic wrap because I always end up getting my messy fingerprints all over them.As far as adding weight by using glue, you'd have to really pile it on to worry about any significant weight gain.Just coat the wing roots with a nice thing layer, that should be all you need.

Building the PC9
It's a good Idea to coat all surfaces that will contact each other with epoxy, make sure it is at least 30 minute epoxy also.If you want to save yourself some mess, take masking tape and plastic wrap and run the tape along the root of each wing panel about 1/16th from the edge and use the plastic wrap to cover the wings so they dont get any epoxy on them.Which PC-9 are you building?

Totally stumped,H9 1.20 cap flying weird!!!!!
no need to remove them from a mix.On the 9Z,you have infinite adjustability.I've pretty much figure it to be play in the servos with some flex in the pushrods.Installing new servos and rods tonight and will report tomorrow. Thanks all

Totally stumped,H9 1.20 cap flying weird!!!!!
I'm really starting to lean towards the servos being the problem. They are driven through a mix in my 9Z.After messing with the plane for another 2 hours last night the only conclusion I can come to is the servos are not centering.I think they are played out. They must be at least 2 years old. Thanks for the brainstorming guys.

Totally stumped,H9 1.20 cap flying weird!!!!!
ok,let me preface this by saying I've been in the hobby 10 years, fly everything from 1/2a to 33% .Here's the dilemma.I'm on my third 1.20 h9 cap, built the first for a friend and it flew great.Built the second for me and also flew great to the point I had to retire it.So on my third one,I figure what can go wrong?First flight today,no wind ,really nice day.Saito 1.80 for power.Hitec 605's all around with one on each elevator half up in the fuse with fiberglass pushrods.Balance is spot on,incidence on wing and tail both are 0,0.take pretty uneventful, but trying to keep this thing in the air was a battle.I thought I was getting radio interference, kept flying hoping it would go away,it didnt.Plane kept bopping up and down, trying to drop a wing once in awhile.I thought it must be cg,but no.I even gave full up elevator in normal high rate and it didnt snap out like most caps.I can not figure for the life of me what the problem is.Only two things are coming to mind, one is the elevators and stab do have a twist, but so did both the other caps I've flown, almost the same exact twist.Example would be the left elevator is inline at the root end,but the balance tab is lower at the tip.The right elevator is fine.I adjusted it some more and will try tomorrow, but I dont really think that is the problem. The only other thing I can think of is the servos are a little older 605's,maybe they are not holding in the air?I dont know.I'm really stumped and hope somebody can offer some ideas. Also my manual on the cg says 5 5/8,is that what everybody elses says?I cant remember from the previous planes if it was this.I know sometimes they update cg's and such.HELP PLEASE!

C.G. on a Hangar 9 1.20 Cap
Thanks Jack. This is actually the 2nd one of these planes I've built. That snappyness is the reason I asked at all about moving it back.My last cap flew the whole time at 5 5/8,with this new I needed to know if it would still be flyable at a little more of an aft cg.Thanks

Just one of those days.
Well, here in the northeast the temps got above freezing finally and I had to get out and fly.I brought along my brand new Gee Bee 1.20 arf and my DPM ultimate ,both would be first test flights.I get the Gee Bee all together.Fire up the asp 1.20 fourstroke(great engine by the way) and take out to the runway.Run up the engine and get ready to.Add power, rolls about 20 feet and flips on it's back!ARRRGGHHH.Chews up the prop.Readjust the springs on the gear so they dont hit the wheel pants and use them as brakes.New prop, second attempt.Power up,takes off, motor kicks off the prop about 15 above the runway. Not enough speed yet.Full up elevator and it slams the pavement.Makes the landing gear into the prettiest pretzel you've ever seen and demolishes the wheels pants. It'll be another month before thats in the air. Okay, try the ultimate out.Put it all together(30 minutes).Cant get the motor(saito 1.80) to start.Take the cowl off, stupid me ran the fuel lines wrong on the perry pump.Fix that, cowl back on,then the prop, spinner and it starts snowing.Oh man, sometimes I hate this hobby.Finish the day out at the local pub that happens to be on the field. I'm feeling much better now
