RE: So, you want to go big huh??? How about 1/3rd!???
Still waiting to see this thing going under it's own power, not gravity, pushing or shoving. Are they gunna be about 20 thousand? I could get a WRX paddock basher for that coin and a 1/5 RTR that will do 70km/h. Don't take me the wrong way, you have done some fantastic work on mammuth I & II, and I can't wait to see the thing really go.

RE: Project Mammuth - The Second
I think the engine's oil supply comes from under the countershaft/gearbox/transmission/where the front sprocket is mounted so, if the car accelerates quickly, or goes uphill, the top end will run dry, destroying the cam shaft/top end because you have the motor mounted facing backwards?

Really, are car bumpers are hand made. That must be why they are so expensive to replace. I have broke heaps. So, what is the body made from, fibreglass or compisite? Will you modity the motor's oil pick up or gearbox for running in reverse situation?

RE: Custom Built R/C Trophy Truck - Project Mammuth
I think you've done a great job with this build and I wish you luck with the next. Just a little bit of constructive criticism for the mammuth and it's driver, and please don't get sad. I just deleted about 60 words and bullet points and stuff cause I felt like I was giving too much so here comes the blunt version. Work on your scales for the next one. Get ya wheels maybe first and go from there. Give it heaps. Mammuth just seems to be hitting into it's powerband and you back off. Slow motion can make a sneeze look cool, 5 minutes is TOO much. But like I said, great job on this build, it works. I still want to hear the motor screaming and see the wheels throwing rooster tails. Cheers and keep up the good work.

RE: what spark plug do i need?
It's quite obvious to spot the different threads on the plugs, different threads, different heads and never force one in to the other. Then you have the different length insulator, not sure what the difference is really, other than thinking a longer insulator may last longer as it will dissipate heat better? There are different lengths/depths that the plugs will screw in. Always turn you motor over slowly for a couple of cycles to make sure the piston isn't gunna hit the plug, especially when changing brands. Then there is the whole spark gap orientation thing which is adjusted by shimming out the plug or skimming the plug sealing surface......DANGER....... The R stands for resistorised, if you don't run a R plug, you may get electronic interference with your receiver or your stereo might get static. The number, i.e. 6, 7 or 8, whatever, is the heat of the plug. I think the lower the number, the hotter the plug. I might have this the wrong way around. If you run a hotter plug, the motor will run a bit hotter. This has all sorts of implications and advantages. I know this because I used a hotter plug in 4 stroke motors that were a bit worn to burn the oil instead of blowing smoke and carboning up to get some more hours out of them. If you run a hotter plug in a two stroke, it can run too hot and detonate. Maybe you've mixed up your fuel a tad rich, put in a hotter plug and lean off ya high speed mix 1/16th of a turn. Please feel free to correct me as none of my useful knowledge came from books, usually it is picked up from blokes in pubs... These experiments can make 1/2 a HP, maybe, but can also be expensive and ruin a weekend................................
