RE: Engine Fan Guards
The stuff is called PC-Fahrenheit. Made by PC-Products in PA USA. www.pcepoxy.com Its heat proof up to 500F with a limited life but can hold 350F all day, everyday, water and fuel proof. Yes, it's like clay and you kneed it to mix the two parts together. Just like u-kneed-it but heat proof. JB weld is more like a liquid and harder to get to stay where you want it. You can also use super strength or ultra clear arildite as they are heat proof too but these are liquid also unless you let it go off a bit before application. The stainless mesh was $2 for a strip 30" X 4". I got it from my sheetmetal supplier as an off-cut. I cut paper templates the cut the mesh and used some pliers to turn up an 1/8"edge, then my hands and the corner of the bench to form it. The epoxy sticks to alloy like poo to a blanket.

RE: Baja 5b Free revving
Most likely the clutch. It can look good but be stuffed. I don't know anything about Baja diffs but maybe there's an issue there. Is it a viscous diff?

Why have you replied to me here? The only way to know the truth is to know all the facts. I've tried to ring these blokes but no answer so I went there. I've bought over $350 worth of stuff from them so they are there and operating. Have you delt with them?

Stock CY27cc will be spot on. 19 pinion to a 43 spur with 19 instead of 17 to the 49 diff. If all this makes sense?
ORIGINAL: cuemando Oh sorry, now I see the agricultural influence.
Have fun with what you have, save your christmas money and all the other pennys you can get your hands on till you have enough to buy something that has suspension. On road will suit you best in suburbia and even NASCAR has suspension. Sprint cars still have front suspension. But as I said, enjoy

RE: 'PROJECT' Quarterscale Pro Street Beretta
I will be really disappointed if the motor you plan on putting in this thing has less than 12hp. Where is the link to your dream motor for this beretta and where are the plans for the body, fibreglass, resin, aluminum or carbon fibre? Like this one?

RE: 'PROJECT' Quarterscale Pro Street Beretta
I think you might want to get some REAL grinder internals 'cause those look like some very small & cheap 7in bits. Ive got a 4in with gears that size but I use it for grinding. De um dee um..Dewalt thats it! You can't go past yellow! Harbour tools sounds and looks like SCA tools that we have here in OZ! Cheap and nasty.

RE: Project Quick n' Simple?
Anything larger than 50cc would need real wheels, off or on road kart tyres will be the go but this is where it gets a tad expensive and specific. glad you can keep up with me. Yeah, postage could be mad but also where there is a will, there is a way. This thing will need to have a magneto? or carry a pretty big battery for a wiper motor, yeah?

RE: Project Quick n' Simple?
With the final motor,115cc, you need to aim a bit better with the wheels. Maybe consider quad dirt bike wheels if you only want 12 inch diameter on the final proto type.115cc will have the grunt like your servo set up. Alloy frame, yyeah all good so far. I might have a winner here? Me a plasma cutting TIG welding sheetmetal working fitter and part time turner. Check the thread I last started?

Wheels and tyres I can not make. turning and/or other complex machining parts are not my specialty and may incure costs. Maybe I should offer repairs and fabrication, you pay for materials?

RE: Engine Break in
So in other words, what dimago93 is trying to say, YES. Then after it's broke in, continue to use synthetic oil in the ratio the manufacture recommends. Then you can experiment, at you own risk, with your own ratio.
