Yea lol. I definitely cannot put an AC in those windows. I figure since the living room might be the "focal point" in the summer, might get a "out of window" AC just to cool that room. Not sure on which to look at tho.
ORIGINAL: Eman77 Not sure what you mean by your windows - post a pic? Window AC units can work pretty well - also, is your wall unit operating properly? Just make sure it's really cranking out cold air (not out of freon or whatever), and not just a cool-ish wind.
Here is my windows. I know the AC is in tip top condition. It is all clean, correct power setting. all windows, doors and curtains closed in house. Coldest setting. It is probably only a 5-8k BTU AC. Our kitchen is fairly large. Id say12x30.

I have had these tires on my XS for over a year now, and they have very very little wear. I do speed runs with my XS as well. They have great all around traction, and have very minimal wear. I'm not sure on the stock pinion tooth count tho.

Window shaker? is that another way of saying AC? I forgot to mention in the original post... The only AC is a wall AC, the windows are all "canopy" windows that crank up.

I'm looking at the premounted trencher / desperado's but most of those list traxxas vehicles and there are several different wheel types. So which should I go with? Also what tooth gearing should I go to? They recommend lowering they gear with a larger tire.
I have a set of HPI Monster SS rims with the Proline Badlands 2.2" tires. The black looks real nice on the truck. If you geta 2.2" tires, it will fir these rims. Oh an gearing, I would maybe go down about two teeth. I never changed my pinion, but I can say the motor does get pretty warm, but not enough to break the motor or overheat it.

The heat is coming!!
Hey guys, got some questions on house cooling. Seems liek this summer is goingot be a warm one, and that's not fun with two young kids. We have one wall AC in our kitchen, and we have some fans to push some of the cold air from the kitchen to the living room and bedrooms, but in all honesty, it's not doing sh1t. I was looking at portable air conditioners. Then evaporative air conditioners came up. Now I don't know which one to consider. It was 90 degrees here yesterday, and the house stayed between 88-90 in all other rooms but the kitchen. Any insight on these two types of coolers? Which cools down the room more? Efficiency?

You should be close to 75 if you get the 4600kv motor, a 3s lipo, and gear up the pinion a few teeth. Remember "With great speed, comes greater repair bills".

My point was, that if you end up dropping $300 in to your already $200 Rustler, there is a lot better cars and trucks out ehre for $500, but to each their own. RE: First post!! Traxxas rustler help!
In all honesty, it all depends on how deep your pockets are. Castle has some great electronics. Others swear by the "off brand" stuff, like HobbyWing and that sort of stuff from Hobbypartz.com and Hobbyking.com. People say that stuff is better than the well known brands and vise versa. Anyway, if you throw in the Caqstle 1410 3800kv system ($110?) 2s 5000mah 30c lipo (roughly $30, depends where you get it) lipo compatible charger ($50 or more for a decent one) you are already up around $200 on top of the Rustler. Knowing Traxxas sells their brushed stuff for around $200 I believe, you are $400 in, which there are a lot of RTR brushless stuff out there for around that price. I'm not nit picking or anyhting, but what made you choose the Traxxas Rustler?

RE: First post!! Traxxas rustler help!
Welcome. If you are looking to upgrade to brushless, especially Castle, you should be looking at the Castle Sidewinder Sv2 or 3. It's a 3800kv 4-pole motor with plenty of power. With that system, you will need to upgrade to the LiPo battery (lithium polymer). The new brushless systems draw many amps and lipos are the only ones that can efficiently supply that power. Which then brings me to your radio system. Is it the 2.4GHz system, or is it the am radio? If you are going to be putting money down for a brushless system and some batteries, might as well spend the extra and get a nice radio IF it has the old AM style setup.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
Well, it also depends on how hard you drive it too. If you are hard on the throttle, the slop between the drive cups and dogbones will create a big amount of stress.
ORIGINAL: mudfrog Got the spacers in and adjusted my shocks to 1/4 - 1/2 spring. The shocks seem a lot better. Unfortunately one of the axle cups split in two so I was only able to run for about 2 minutes. I'm getting irritated by this little truck. Now to decide if I want to stock up on the stock ones or invest in some hardened steels.
I wouldn't get irritated by the truck. Parts break, it's part of the hobby. You have to remember, the stresses are far greater in this truck since a 1/10 brushless system was installed. HPI has compensated for this throughout the truck, but you can only make things so durable. I have only split one drive cup as well. If you read the manual, it says to repair any worn drive cups, as they may break randomly. Yours had some wear as well as mine. You could also get CVD's to get rid of the dog bone/drive cup.
