RE: OS FS 90 Clicking Noise
Experiment with lighter springs..you don't have to run a four stroke right at the ragged edge of peak. The suck squeeze bang blow of the 4 stroke cycle will help open and close the valves as there is so little inertia with them

Contolliner is right....the valve springs manufacturers put in these engines are far too strong in my opinion

They replaced the piston with a new one, and didn't ask for the old one back. No questions asked. Sent them a copy of the receipt and a picture. Good service I say

Basic Thunder Tiger 130fs carb settings
Does anyone know the basic settings for the Thunder Tiger 130FS engine. Being twin needle I tried the standard method [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4646563/anchors_4646563/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#4646563]HERE[/link]. This method does not work as the LSN will not shut right off. Any help please

OS FS120 Surpass E
I'm thinking of buying an OS FS120E four stroke....... Can I turn the carb around by 180 degrees? I want to mount the cylinder head of the motor at the 9 o'clock position ( looking from the front) and the carb needle facing through the top of the cowl. Many thanks

RE: Thunder tiger 91 mounted at 225 deg. dies
Try an f type......it won't hurt. If it coughs, splutters and dies it will be rich. If it just cuts will be hot. Make sure you can see a small trail of smoke (not too much), smoke out heat out. If it at idle on the ground for 10 secs and then immediately WOT if it coughs and splutters too rich, lean the low speed needle JUST A 1/16 OF A TURN. Then readjust the high end to 2 clicks off max revs.....keep doing this until it picks up well when you kick open the throttle. If on the other hand after 10 secs idle it cuts at immediately WOT then richen low end needle and adjust the high speed needle as before. The twin needle set up is a balancing act between the 2.

RE: Chosing a New Engine OS, Magnum, Thunder Tiger
A 55ax is a sweet engine. As I keep saying to people, run it in properly. AS PER MANUAL. WOT a click or two on the rich side (it does not do any good to scream it lean within an inch of its life). Run it dry after each day and add some after run.

Don't forget to fly it scale like not like a 3D machine. It looks nicer and fellow pilots will appreciate that.

RE: Thunder Tiger 130FS Inverted
Yep, being inverted that pooling fuel will make it go more rich than usual. [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4646563/anchors_4646563/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#4646563]This[/link] may help, I don't know but it has got me out of a muddle.

RE: Thunder Tiger 130FS Inverted
Ran mine for a year inverted no problem, try a new OS F plug. I know you have probably done that. fuel does tend to pool quicker inverted so the plug has really got to be at its best.

I don't worry about the max revs an engine will do. I set all mine 2/3 clicks rich from top to aid reliability. Then choose the right prop for what I want.

RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation
Yes but only a click or two. It doesn't take much for the motor to go "over" into lean. A little on the rich side seems to get the most of the power.

RE: UMS Evolution Radial Care and Operation
I have my UMS 7-77 for several months now and put about 3 gallons for 5% through it. I have noticed that the bottom end has richend up somewhat from a few runs ago any way this has meant the engine has lost power on take off - not ideal by any means. Anyone had the same happen as their radial has been running???

Can I use a 40J carb off a OS 55AX and put it on a OSmax 46ax. The body diameters are both the same at 13.5mm. The throat on the 46 (40G carb) is 7.8mm.
