RE: ordering brushless ATM, need quick opinion
i would go with the quark and mamba combo unless your getting the castle link, will solve any cogging on the 6 cell. I have a mamba 25 and c4 8000 combo and its still controlable. it doesnt matter really which of those kv motors you get if your upgrading your battery unless you want to get super insane car flying speeds, because with an 8 cell or lipo and any of those mid to high kv motors and you will get 50 plus easy. the lower kv motor will be better for you if you end up sticking withg stock battery, as it will have more efficient torque.

RE: RC18T vs. RC18MT (Which one to get?)
gearing better suited for those gear??? what are you talking about he said hes putting a mamba in there. He will have NO torque problems with 14/60 hell he could even but it up a notch or two. there is no reason to have the torque of the rc18mt unless your running stock motor.

RE: Volcano 2 speed problems
whats a good start point? im assuming the one that is locking it is the straight one, and the offset one is the one i gotta adjust, but how far out is it ussually.....i have no idea where to start, and i have yet to realllly screw it out, only till the back of the screw is flush with the ring, so i could go a bit more but i didnt want to, seems most of my adjustments kept it in 2nd gear, cuz the acceleration was like half of what the stock single speed was.

Volcano 2 speed problems
I got the 2 speed for the volcano from redcat, installed and works fine, but it seems like its stuck in second considering it has less torque, but it may even be in first i wouldnt know since both spur gears spin... It came with both the screws in the bottom screwed basically all the way in. I tries turning them both out a little, and one out a lot, but i dont know what to do to shift its always the same. Right now they are both all the way in. Which screw do i adjust i thought i only adjusted one not two

RE: Biggest 3 cell lipo to fit rc18t
no i have not, i dont have the link yet. You think updating it will even take care of cogging on such a crappy battery?

RE: 540 in an RC18b
im sure pretty much any 3 cell lipo with any 8000 kv or higher motor will get you around 60 if you can keep the car down. The combo i have with the c4 8000 and mamba esc was only 120 and im sure its just as good ( i heard it actually has more torque) and i doubt youll ever need anything faster than this with 3s

RE: 540 in an RC18b
Man just go brushless. I only got a stock batt pack for rc18t with mamba 25 and C4 8000 kv and i have a pretty damn big increase in power over the stock motor. If i had a stronger battery on this thing it would easily double in speed and power and it already goes over 30 easy. You dont need anything other than better motors and batteries to reach infinite power with these tiny things wheels. go brushless now dont bother with the bigger can

I just want to upgrade from my 6 cell stock battery, but i have cogging issues, only from a dead stop though. I still though would like something a tad bit faster so any reccomendations? I have a Mamba 25 with C4 8000 kv brushless , stock 14t pinion stock 60t spur, basically everything but suspension parts are stock.

Biggest 3 cell lipo to fit rc18t
I was wondering what is the biggest 3 cell lipo that will fit the rc18t- or a 7 or 8 cell people know a good layout with and have high mah and discharge rate.

RE: rc18t mamba 25 + c4 8000 + deans please help me out
the connection i doubt is bottlenecked by the crimp connectors, its probibly more effective than the soldering its pretty thick and really hard for someone to part it from the deans without pliers, and thats what it is meant to do, and besides i directly connected the wires and i had the same problem. Can i just re solder 14 gauge wires to the battery and that might help?, its like 20 gauge as it is. Everything but the battery obviously, is 14 gauge

RE: rc18t mamba 25 + c4 8000 + deans please help me out
yeah but if it barely gave me a difference in the cogging i was getting with any combo of the 4 options for timing and ive tried extreme timing setting, and high starting power setting, low timing, and low starting power, i did the opposite, i did everything with the settings i could do without the link

rc18t mamba 25 + c4 8000 + deans please help me out
Hi, i recently upgraded to a mamba 25 and a c4 8000 kv motor, but im still using the stock battery pack. I installed deans plugs (but using crimp connector to the deans not soldering, but i doubt that even matters). The car will do fine and not cog at all as long as its going a couple mph , but from a standstill it will cog and accelerate, but not even enough to spin the wheels out untill its going 3-5 mph. I believe its going about 25-30 max speed though, but i want to know if theres a quick fix i can do to reduce cogging before i upgrade the batt pack. Would soldering 14 gauge in place of the crappy 18/20 gauge on the battery help the cogging? I have tried almost all combinations of the 4 timing settings and 3 low end or w/e settings. I have messed with trim and the throttle ATV but i still get that little bit of cogging whilke going slow. Any suggestions on what i can do aside from upgrading the battery? Also anyone know what speeds the rc18t would do with the c4 8000 kv and a 3 cell lipo?

RE: Redcat Racing Volcano Thread
i got my volcano (well himoto eldorada, no diff) for around 75 with 15 for shipping and it was pretty much unscratched, totally clean, everything in perfect condition, but the clutch shoes were worn to HELL i cant believe it can get that worn it was so warped(this guy must have never crashed/flipped the thing cuz engine seems to had a lotta tanks gone through it yet no plastic part was even scratched), but anyways, a used volcano unless perfect prob wouldnt even fetch you 100 bucks no one wants to buy these used unless you got lots of alum hop ups.

RE: Question about Himoto parts
i definately want aluminum for those 3 parts i mentioned, but the rest then i guess ill get it mahcined out of some type of light steel. My father has mechanics that work on machines in a factory for him, they can machine most, but the parts that are attaching directly to the wheel will be a little hard to do. i doubt steel will bend much, i just dont want to worry about it if i happen to take a nasty fall. Im thinking about getting a better .18 engine too, but i dont know which are the best, and i dont know if i can fit a .21 in there either, but if theres one that would that would be awesome. any know bout that either?

Question about Himoto parts
Hi, i snapped the rear axes hub on my Himoto Eldorada pro , so i ordered a part number 02013 (or 02015 i forgot), but what would be the Aluminum one? i cant find this part anywhere. I also want to get the steering arm for it too and the thing that surrounds it. I know most of the himoto cars are generic parts, but i want to know if anyone knows a place with these 3 aluminum parts, even an ebay link would be awesome. I can get all of the simple parts machined for free, but stuff like what i mentions is a little complicated. I can easily get basically all the other parts machined for me for free. So my second question is would it be to much if imachine it with some light steel? or is aluminum plenty strong for this? My goal literally is to build an all metal connected car, exept where not possible, so i can bang the shit out of this baby and never worry about it breaking.
