RE: Servo reverser w/ Hi-tech servo's
If they are Digital Servos, get a Hitec Servo Programer and reverse servos, easily done, no need for any other gadget on your ship. Tower Hobbies sells them.

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
ORIGINAL: Ramstein44 I got rid of mine as they don't have a lot of weight to them and wanted a heavier spinner so I don't have so much lead in the nose. And this plane to me just wasn't worth it since it comes with a decent spinner for the money.
Ram; To understand you correctly, you did not use the SIST Spinner/Fan unit; you used the Top Flite Spinner, did you incorporate any Fan Back Plate for cooling purposes? If this was already stated, I apologize for not reading the thread more carefully, and if I recall, you had a few Fan units to try out, which one worked the best with the Top Flite Spinner DLE/DA Engines. Thanks,

Top Flite's Product Suggestion
Has anyone used Top Flite's 'Product Suggestion' on their web-Site and got an answer? I have used it several times, never got a reply, suggesting to put out a Giant Scale Japanese Mitsubishi A6M 'ZERO' ARF, to go along with their other Great Giant Warbird ARFs; already have the P-51, P-47 & P-40, not interested in the Spitfire, I'm tempted to get the TF Giant FW190, but I am holding out and hopeful that they will release a ZERO, which is what I really want, and when they do I will pull the trigger big time to get the ZERO, it would be nice to hear back from Top Flite if a ZERO is in the works, and if it's not in the plans then I will get the FW190, I just can't get both the FW190 and a ZERO, running out of room!

RE: 50CC REVOLVER!!
ORIGINAL: gade600sdi Looks kind of boring, typical great planes/hobbico stuff lots white Monokote. I think the Reactor 50cc they already have is much nicer and better performer, this one is a yawner to me. They should use Ultracoate like everyone else and get some better colors on the planes, take a look at Hangar 9 planes for example, or 3D hobby shop planes.
This is why I hate posting on RCU, always someone ready to rain on your Parade, the Thread Author wasn't looking for opinions or criticism, just looking for more information on a plane that he is interested in getting, what you may find boring he finds interesting or great...I know, freedom or speach..yada yada...you are entitled to your opinion and so am I.

RE: Work Bench Finish
Appreciate the replys, I am talking about the Top Surface, and yes the Birch Ply is great stuff, a lttle expensive but works great; so what I'm looking for is a Finish that will stand up to the occasional spill of fuel, solvents, thinners, etc; I thought of placing another layer of some hardboard, or formica, but would like to find a finish that I can apply to the wood and be done with it. Thanks.

Work Bench Finish
I built a work bench using Cabinet Grade A/C Birch Plywood; originally I had finished it Natural Color and sealed it with Minwax Water Based Poly-Urethane, which was a mistake because everything eats away at it; I want to sand it down and re-finish it with something that is: Resistant to Glow/Gas Fuel, Alcohol, Acetone, Paint Thinner, etc; any suggestions?

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
ORIGINAL: Ramstein44 I don't think it'll matter being a radial setup with that large cowl. either way, the mufflers for both should be hidden inside the cowl. Unlike the Dora. I'm real curious about the Zenoah G62 with a cup mount and spring starter. Just because of the extra weight the Antons need.
Your probably right, I have the TF GS P-40 and it was modeled for the DLE55, I have this plane and engine and this combo is perfect; Considering both Top Flite and DLE are distributed by Great Planes, I'm thinking the FW190 would be modeled for the DLE, not sure which one, its possible its modeled for either, that is if the Engine mounting Bolt pattern is the same for either DLE Engine.

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
ORIGINAL: wulf190 I can help some Charles. I combed over it as much as I could. It has a DLE 55 for power, and flight is VERY impressive. I've never bought an ARF, but this one is a winner. Construction looks good as does scale outline. The Robart gear have the cylinder placed behind the axle pivot, so this might make dropping in Sierras more complicated...but the Robart gear looked good. It flew a little ''lighter'' than the Holman, but did everything that the Holman version does well, just as good....awesome cornering, good ground handling, stable landing approach, etc.. I think he said the weight was around 23lbs, so with the DLE it's a lively performer. An ARC might be forthcoming if enough people email TF for it...so if you want one in ARC, ask and maybe down the road it will happen. The finish on the ARF is ok if you're alright with covering and stuff, but personally I would strip it. If it were glassed and detailed after purchase it could look fantastic. The cowl is panel lined, but not the plane. You will be extremely pleased with it. I would have no regrets buying one.
Thanks for the report. I'm guessing it had the older/current DLE55, not the new DLE55RA with rear exhaust, due for release in September! I wonder which one would fit it better, seems like the new style would?

RE: Are we Geeks?
I don't think we are all Geeks, I do find there are always the notable 'Club Expert Guys', every club has them, some have several, I know my club has several; these are the guys that know everything, first to let you know they know everything; interfere and interject into other peoples conversations; following you around elaborating on useless extraneous information; when you ask a simple question, they answer the question down to the molecular level; when you talk about something you are using or doing, they of course use something better or have done that better; they show up at the field in their vehicle that can double as a mobile Hobby Shop; sound familiar, then you probably have a Club Expert Guy in your club!

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
I wonder which DLE55 the TF Rep is referring to, he may be referring to the older style DLE55; the new Rear Exhaust Style DLE55 has the plug angled towards the rear as well, and the new style DLE55 including Spark Plug Cap/Boot, may fit completely inside the cowl.

RE: NEW Top Flight P-40??? 1/5 scale
ORIGINAL: ROGER RUSSELL Has anyone noticed or looked at the gas tank mounting, lets call it F-2. I have looked in there and the plywood F-2 looks like it is rubbing a groove into the gas tank. Can not see the top of the tank and do not know if doing on top also. Not sure if this would continue to wear and cause a leak? Thanks
That's not good, it's been a practice of mine as a lot of ARF's are like this, that I split some tubing and place on the edge of the formers that hold the tanks to prevent the former from rubbing on the tanks, I always felt that the formers could rub a hole through the tanks because of the vibrations.

RE: TF FW190 GIANT ARF
I wonder what Engine this Plane is modeled for; example: the Giant Top Flite P-40 was modeled to use the DLE55 with a JTec Wrap around Pitts Muffler, I have this plane and use the DLE and Jtec and it was a perfect fit. I can see them modeling the Plane for the DLE 55 as well, the question would be which DLE55, the newer DLE55 has rear mounted Carb and Exhaust, which is listed as being available soon, I would have to think the newer DLE would work great.

RE: Top Flite Giant FW-190?
Tower Hobbies states 'More Technical Information to be added when available'; may have to wait till then to find out about a 3 piece wing, or when the manual is available, which should be forthcoming I would think.
