RE: RCU Coverage of the 10th Annual NEAT Fair
Matt, Ed and Papa Jeff. Debbie and I had an awesome time at the NEAT Fair and spending some time with the three of you simply added to our enjoyment of our “working weekend. Shooting along side you guys made this years NEAT a little more of a blast for us. As I see thus far your coverage is awesome. If I do not see any of you at any of the events that I cover before the NEAT Fair this coming year, I will whole-heartedly be looking forward to seeing the three of you at NEAT 2010. In the spirit of sharing, here is a shot of PaPa Jeff I got when he was not looking. This is the only place I am posting this image. Till the next time. Ta Ta for now. Paul Osinski

Here comes the Jet. This baby was fast, I estimate somewhere around 220 Miles per Hour at full throttle. I was delighted to see that I was able to capture this bird at full tilt. I am pretty sure the organizer of the event was the owner.

Gregory Haun of Muncie, In brought his C 45 D. Gregory built it from scratch and took him a year to construct working 7 days a week for 8 hours per day. It is powered by 2 Fuji 34’s. It flew great and had that sweet sound of twins. Nice Gregory!

RE: ***Warbirds Over Delaware 2009 - RCU Event Coverage***
Hello all: I spent 5 hours at Warbirds Over Delaware on Saturday and the following posts are a record of my visit and experiences. First I would like to say; AWESOME! This was my first visit to this event and was definitely overwhelmed with the whole thing. At the flight line was constant flying of all kinds of Giant Scale Military model aircraft. From a photographers point of view; there was simply too much to shoot in the 5 hours I spent there. I opted to, after seeing the big picture to only take in-flight photos of planes during the noon show because of the ‘Giant’ number of models in attendance. For those of you that do not know me: I am an Aero-Modeler myself and Freelance Professional Photographer on the side. It just does not get any better than combining two passions and have fun doing it! This event also brought a new closeness with my daughter Lindsey and I. I have not seen her in two years as she lives in Alabama and runs a Doggie Daycare and has little time off. She was also overwhelmed with the event and had an awesome time as well. She is a darn good photographer as well so some of her pictures are mixed in with the postings. Needless to say Lindsey now understands my passion for Aero-Modeling now and has requested to watch me fly something of my own before she has to return to Alabama. ON WITH THE PHOTOS! This first group of photos in my opinion gets my award for extra effort. Bob Keirbley from Middletown, NJ and Adam and Jennifer Lilly of Fairfield, NJ dressed in 40’s Army Air Corp attire. What a great way to add realism and class to the event. BRAVO! The plane photos are of Adam flying at the noon show with Jennifer along side for a touch of realism. Adam flew his craft in a way that should not have been possible and was quite a show. Thank you. It should also be noted that Jennifer is an R/C Pilot. She enjoys flying her Trainer and a 1/5 scale Taube.

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
Michael: I usually use Robart 650 or 653 struts and use the 3/16 inch adaptor that is included to fit the LADO 3/16 inch opening. The 3/8 inch strut fits the LADO’s perfectly. The joining wire only has to be about 2 ½ inches long and is easy to replace if need be, although I have never had to replace a joiner yet. Does this help? Ta Ta for now. Paul

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
Hello All: For thoes of you that have not found it yet, here is my review: [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7999431/tm.htm]LADO Review[/link] If you read the review, you will understand that I am a big fan of this product. Ta Ta for now. Paul

RE: Best retracts?
LDM: The struts that I used were from a set of Hanger 9 retracts and were very soft. I will no longer be using them because of that. I will be changing to a 3/8 Robart strut instead which will mate to the LADO 60 sized retracts perfectly. If I manage to bend the joiner piano wire I plan to switch to a stainless steel joiner. When the Robart struts are adapted to the LADO’s the piano wire is only about 1 ½ inches long so I really do not see a problem but will see this spring. As for the durability; I am not going to mislead you and tell you I have hundreds of flights on them. I have a total of 10 flights this past flying season in a 9 pound 3 ounce P-51. In that time they worked flawlessly. Not a tad of slop in the locked up or down position. And as mentioned in my review I had some landings that were hard enough to bend the wire struts that I was using. I have also retracted them many times testing them and showing them to many modelers and they still work the same way that I took them out of the box. As for the Circuit board; I am an electronics technician by trade. The controller board on each retract is professionally done. The Conformal coat (clear layer) is flawless and plenty adequate for protecting the board from moisture. I can not attest that the coating will not dissolve if fuel were to come in contact it as I fly electric only, but I can not imagine Doug would have them coated with a material that would be effected by model airplane fuel. Will the board fail? In my opinion the board is as good as any high quality electronic assembly available to an aero modeler. It is still an electronic assembly and we all know despite taking precautions, electronics do fail. Perhaps someone watching this post can attest that has more flights than I do. On a last note to your reply; I am not one to write reviews. When seeing the quality of my LADO’s and experiencing their operation I felt compelled to get the information out to modelers considering the purchase of the product. They are, in my opinion well worth the investment, of high quality and as durable as it gets. I hope I have answered you questions to you satisfaction. Any more questions are welcome. Ta Ta for now. Paul
