I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM, I NOTICE WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE THE ENGINE STALL. IF I REMOVE THE AIR FILTER AND APPLY THE BRAKE THE CARBURATOR IS CLOSING ITSELF WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE SO THIS IS NORMAL. BUT IT WASN T DOING THIS BEFORE.

yeah but this is not the back plate of the roto start itself that is broken but the cast alluminum back plate of the engine itself. there is 4 screw holding this backplate to the engine... can we buy just the back plate ?

It is not completely free spinning sometimes your hear the engine turning a little then 2 seconds it s free spinning then after 2 secondes engine is spinning... It doesn t seems to crank all the time.....

BACK PLATE ROTO START AND brake/gazLINKAGE ISSUE NEED HELP
Greetingd Everyone, I have a savage x 4.6 rtr since christmas that has almost 2 gallon thru it. It was running very since this afternoon. First probleme : When i was inserting the roto start in the back plate of the engine and i was pushing the button to star it the back plate was shaking a lot and the engine did not seems to crank so i was not able to start. I unmount the engine from the chassis and notice that the bottom left screw that hold the back plate of the engine in place was broken. But this is not the plastic part of the roto start that is broken but a part of cast alluminum that it is part of the crank case, there is just a little peace of metal that is ripped off from the engine itself at the very same place where the screw of the roto start back plate is suppose to go. The upper right and bottom right screw are perfectly in place so there is one screw missing to hlod the back plate. I put threadlocker on the 2 other screw and torque the screw at the maximum. Now when i put the roto start and try 2 start it, it crank but it doesn t seems to crank perfectly like before. I really doubt that just one screw on the back plate is giving me this problem because when i use the roto start the back plate doesn t move at all now. I have been able to start it but then after the roto start seems to spin in butter. It doesn t seems to crank the engine. Could it be the roto start back plate, the one way bearing??? thank you

HALF tank lean issue AND CARB TUNNING
hi everyone ! I notice that when i am at half tank and i turn right with the truck my engine seems to bog a little bit. I think it is all the gaz go the same way when i turn so the engine run to lean in that case. I think if i put a longer fuel line i ll be able to fix this issue. i d like to know : on what factor you guys are looking to make sure your needle are set properly. I know i have to start to adjust the high speed needle first then the low speed. But i have a hard time to know witch one is doing what. I think the ghigh speed is for wide open throttle and low speed is for mid open throttle ?!... what are the signs i should look for to know when i am at 100% of the capacity of the engine without braking anything... i don t have a temp gun. I always have blue smoke coming out ( a lot actualy) i run wild cat 20% nitro. let s say my high speed needle is set to lean my truck will bog and i will get no smoke right ? let s say my low speed needle is too lean or too rich what am i gonna get ?

I went yesterday night with my savage with the 17/52t setup and i played 3 tanks with no issue. The truck lost a little top speed but can t say i lost 10 mph. the truck is almost to quick for acceleration it is crazy. The spur after inspection seems to be fine. It looks a little more loose between the spur and the the clutch bell... if the tranny brake i will put the 3 speed. if the clutch burn i will put a robinson racing clutch bell with mugen clutch shoes and 1.0 mm spring. What tools do we need to do a good job and also do we need to service the clutch ? if so how you proceede??

Ok set lets say i want to run the truck like this. Am i gonna burn the clutch or something (i don t mind burning the spur gear) is there any danger for any other parts except the spur gear if i keep the 17/52 ratio ?

NEED HELP ON SPUR GEAR
Hi everyone ! I have a savage 4.6 rtr. I striped my spur gear two weeks ago. I had a 49t and now i put a 52t. My clutch bell is a 17T(stock one not ventilated). I changed the spur gear for the new one , but AS SOON I FINISH TO PUT THE SCREW it seems the mesh is not good, it seems way to close (clutch bell from the spur gear). When i try to turn it with my finger it s hard to turn... i tried with a peace of paper between the gear while i am screwing the screw and it doesn t work... maybe i did not put enough paper ? do you have a CLEAR web site or help i can follow step by step i don t want to burn my clutch shoes and another spur gear.... Thank you...

All those truck are looking good and seems to have great features but can t find any REVIEW on the monster gt 8.0, the raminator !!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE SUPPORT it is weel appreciated. One of the thing i like from this hobby is everyone is ready to help you and you can easily share knowledge with other people. (do i need a temp gun or i can just see how much smoke it comes from the exhaust ?!) , what is the difference in the cold plug, hot plug medium plug ? when i will brake the engine (i will wait summer or warm temperature before brek-in, will i need to do anything special before the break - in ?!, does the dvd privide enough information ? hi forgot to put i will have a hump pack 6 volt 1600 mah with it. i will do change the red lock tight for the blue one AND i will for sure put diff oil in the diff. thank you very much ! (the one way bearing and glow plug will be ordered also thank you !)

Greetings Everyone ! After searching and searching and spending hours to read all the reviews and forum over the internet i finally made my decision ! I WILL ORDER a SAVAGE x ss 4.6. It s my first time with a nitro vehicule and i prefer building my self ( i think it s half the fun to buil and i will know how to do if something it needs to be replaced). I need your advice to make sure i got everything (any sugestion is welcome) : here is the list (i buy everything from towerhobbies i will get 40$ rebate because it just come close to 635$): savage x ss 4.6 kit futaba 3pm with a 3303 servo for throttle, one 3305 for steering (IS IT the good required servos ?) (seems to be fm and cheap and good so perfect choice futaba fail safe (dont want to loose 600$ in a tree) hpi pro glow plug ingnitor hpi cold plug r5(want to get another in case , for the break in it s gonna run very rich so..) hobbico after run oil ca glue thread locker red duratrax fuel bottle tower hobbies ac/dc charger (i ll buy a good one later but for now it s good) pactra polycarb paint (my oncle will make me a crazy paint with airbrush) IS IT recommended to put some sort of synthetic oil in the diff to amke them bullet prof right away? if so witch brand i can buy ? I am planning to buy with it another spur gear just in case... the gaz i plan to use the o donnel 25% nitro (SEEMS TO BE NOT HIGH NOT TO LOW (I WANT THE MOST OUT OF THE TRUCK WITHOUT DANGER FOR THE ENGINE) I am feeling like a CHILD for this cristmas i feel just like when i was 8 years old it s too nice ! So you guys think i should go with the revo ?! you guys are talking about basher and hop up parts. but the real question is : STOCK VS STOCK : REVO 3.3 VS SAVAGE X 4.6 RTR WITCH ONE IS STRONGER, ACCELERATE QUICKER, TOP SPEED IS LESS IMPORTANT I WANT TORQUE LIKE A 5.0. PLEASE BE CLEAR , don t compare other engine , i want to know stock truck witch one gives the BEST performance PERIOD

By the way i saw that a LOT of person are installing RB TM523 AND OTHER BIG BLOCK ENGINE IN THE REVO 3.3, THAT IS ANOTHER POINT WHY I FEEL THAT THE REVO HASN T ENOUGH JUICE TO COMPETE AGAINST THE SAVAGE 4.6 WHAT DO YOU THINK ?!!!!

Greetings Everyone ! I am looking to get my first nitro monster truck and i am looking the savage x 4.6 rtr and the revo 3.3. I will bash in my backyard in the wood, bmx track and dirt. I want the ultimate performance, i want TORQUE, i fear that the little 3.3 in the wood or grass will have difficulty to start quickly and will need to rev to get his power, but it is also lighter... WITCH TRUCK IS THE STRONGEST between the savage and the revo ! i don t want a war between the two clan, i want non biased answer from honnest people that has KNOWLEDGE. Thank you in advance i know there are here a lot of nice person that has knowledge to give me some help to buy my first nitro monster truck, i am 25 years old and i feel like a little kid waiting for cristmass! i don t want to feel i didn t make the right decision when the order will be past on tower or hobby.
